Not sure if the folks below ate this food from a different cook under different management, or possibly another universal dimension. Here on earth, this restaurant cannot qualify for a higher rating. I wholly support the principal of being vegetarian, but each item we ordered was not only undercooked, but lacked any real flavor. Some of the flavors were too strong in cardamom, and the idly just had a strange taste to it. I consider myself to be very critical and honest reviewer. Just check all my reviews. They were nice enough to change the undercooked Dosas ,but overall, I consider this a 3rd rate Indian dive. The best South Indian I have had is Taj Chaat House in Plano. The second best is Chennai Café. Other than that, Ive not encountered a South Indian restaurant worth a recommendation. Im from the Northeast, where restaurants in general are of much higher caliber. My guess is that non-Indians would not know what they are missing; hence some of the positive reviews below.

We have been here 3 or 4 times, and some of the foods are really good, like sambar vada, curd vada, dosa,, all chutnies etc, but the customer service is really worst, every one has very mean attitude and they dont even smile. If we go by closing time even before 15 20 mins before closing time, they really urge you to order and they say you cannot order any more. Also, we ordered chole battura once and it exactly like nan, and we asked them why its not puffy, they said only poori wil be puffed and not chole battura, then as we started eating it was very thick like nan, and again we asked them and they said this is how our chole battura is and that too in a very mean altitude, every time they do something or other that i hatted this place for their very worst customer service. We will never go this place even though we like some of their food. Service is very important even thought they do not have very good food.

Loved their food. The only thing is I dont like their ordering. If I go there with 5 other friends from work, all of us have to stand in a line to order our food one after another. Why cant your waiters take the order at the tables? Whats wrong with that model? After this is not a mcdonalds type QSR. The food here is quite sumptious. They are a little less on the quantity side, but its quite good food. If they fix their ordering and paying process, I dont mind giving them my best recommendations. Oh yeah, you do have to line back up when you are done with your meal to pay your chk. Too much lining up and not enough sitting down and enjoying your meal. Please fix this. Its an easy fix and I bet u ur customers will love it.

There is a new restaurant at this location called Kesari. Blue Ginger Garden no longer exists. I have been looking for a traditional kitchen with an emphasis on quality and standards, and finally this venue satisfies my craving. I now frequent the restaurant for its business lunches (enough to feed me twice for a really low price!) and the daily dinner specials as well. If youre looking for good treatment, and quality South Indian food, this place blows the rest out of the water. The owner of the restaurant often makes it a point to come and say hello to all the customers to see if everything was ok. Overall, a great experience with quick service! Perfect for someone that is working in the area and wants to grab a quick lunch!

Tonight, I took my friend whos visiting from New Zealand. She loves Indian food, so I researched the retaurants in the area. Kesari had good reviews and their website spoke of really fresh ingredients, etc. We did not enjoy our food or the atmosphere in the restaurant. The young people who were working there were not friendly, and when I asked for a dish that was not very spicey, the young man recommended a dish that turned out to be extremely spicey, even for my friend who eats Indian food regularly. The food actually was more spicey than tasteful. I was very disappointed, and honestly dont understand why people gave this place good reviews. I do not recommend this restaurant for either its atmosphere or its food.

My husband and I LOVE the food. The service was lacking because of the language barrier but with asking the right questions like, "What is your most popular dish?" and "What dish comes with a lot of vegetables?" we were able to get the right meal to compliment our first visit. We both enjoyed the spicy balance of all 4 dipping sauces and the variety of lentil breads and curry spiced starches. We appreciate the authentic atmosphere and traditional southern Indian cuisine. Not to mention the servers use a digital ordering and check-out system, so there was never a need for our CC to leave the table and eco-friendly. :)

Good Place for simple south Indian foods like Idlis, Vadais & Dosais. Their Sambar Vadai, idlis, poori & Chole Bhatura are our frequent order! But the occasional Kuzhi Panniyaram & Kothu Parrota are good too! Couple of Cons- one would be the timings , they are open only until 9 PM except Sundays & the last order has to go in before 8.45. So if you go at 8.46- ah ah....come again another day!The second being the absence of Tomato chutney. That is also the essence of South India, like Sambar! Hopefully they would add it sometime in the future:) Overall its a good to go place!

We catered (South Indian food) for an event at our place from Kesari. The food was just simply superb. The idli sambhar was just the best I have eaten!! They key thing is Mr.Malolan is extremely professional, very each to reach. Good communication, extremely pleasant experience. The food was delivered very very neatly in a hot pack. I would give this service a 5 star. Beats any service I have used in the past. I wish this business a lot of success and I hope he retains this always.

This place is great for a quick and casual meal. The ambiance is very calm and relaxed inside with slight dimmed lighting. The Wait staff was quick and attentive to our needs. We ordered the masala dosa, idly, and channa bhatura and all were excellent! The idly in particular stood out to me as I usually dont favor idlies but they make them very soft here. The chutneys were all also delicious. The stainless steel dishes really add to the authenticity and vibe of the restaurant.
