The servers were great in providing chips and salsa to our group. Always refilling our drinks. They do need help in understanding what is in the foods as far as allergies go. Manager also needs to have a refresher of what vegetarian means. We asked about several of their dishes and when we got it, it seems they are cooked in animal products of some kind. The food itself is why Im not leaving a good rating. I got the fish and my wife got shrimp tacos. The fish itself was super thin, and the breading thick, so it was dry and unflavorful. The fries and salad were fine, but shouldnt have been the highlight of the dish. The shrimp tacos were so dry and bland. We both couldnt finish our meals because they just werent worth the calories. Immediately after eating I had stomach pains and spent a portion of the evening in the bathroom. It was either food that was cooked with land animal products or just the dish itself. Either way, I wont be coming back.

I am updating my review and changing it from 4 out of 5 stars to 5 full stars! I have been a customer of Pericos for years now and continue to order from them 1 to 2 times a week. The owner, Edgar, provides superb customer service and always greets me with a smile. You can really tell that he enjoys the food/service industry and strives to provide quality food with reasonable pricing. Customer Satisfaction is a high priority from all of the employees under his management. I Love their Barbacoa Tacos, Chicken Soup, Huevos Rancheros, Burritos, Tostada and especially the green sauce! Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, I am sure you will have a pleasant experience with Pericos Mexican Cafe!

I decided to take my daughter out to eat and everything was alright up until the moment I was going to eat my pancakes. They were still raw on the inside! Not only that but only had my Coffee refilled twice until maybe 18-20 minutes when our waitress came over. I would understand if the place was super busy but there were only 3 other tables and about 3 waitresses. When we were about to pay I noticed I was still charged for the pancakes, I asked the manager why and he said and he said, "its only a $0.50 difference". Had an unsatisfactory experience and wont be comino back.

My co-workers and I love the Mexican food here. From the tacos to pretty much anything that you order. The wait staff generally doesnt speak very good English, but they are able to communicate well enough in English to get you taken care of most of the time. The prices are fantastic as well. The only reason Im writing this for stars is because there is a nasty smell from the restroom that they seem to not be able to get rid of due to some kind of plumbing issue. The restrooms are clean, but the smell can be smelled throughout the entire restaurant.

Where do I start.. The chips & salsa were cold. The drinks were delicious. Our waiter took forever to come around & ask if we needed anything...BTW not once did she ask if we needed a refill & I also had to go up to the register and ask for napkins. The food was gross except my husbands plate. I got a caldo the veggies were very under cooked thats why I took it to go so I can re cook it at home :). My daughter got an enchilada which was gross and bitter. By far the only good thing was the drinks, rice & huevos divorciados.

I have been here a few times and everytime the service is despicable. The food however is pretty good, for a cheaper Mexican food restaurant I would say its above average. I have never had their breakfast however so I cant speak for that. The atmosphere is pretty cool as the inside of the place is like a neon green color and on Friday and Saturday nights they have different musicians come in and sing Mexican music. Overall, not bad, but bad service is never cool. Its a low key spot when your just feeling something easy.

Terrible service. We walked in and were not greeted. We sat ourselves. We arrived.a little after 10:15pm, it said the closed at 12am, but 2 waitresses rushed us to place put order. We did, the food was not terrible. But they proceeded to talk amongst each other about how they were ready to go. One of them asked why we had yet to leave. They completely rushed us out. At 11pm the doors were locked and they were waiting in the lobby with their purses in hand staring us down. We will never come here again.

Love their big burritos and salsa verde but service is not always that good. Went once while pregnant and they brought everyones food except for mine! Then the waitress never came back until my husband got up and had to call another waitress. Also, the restroom has a weird odor, making the whole place smell like it.

I go here for the best pastor in Houston. This is a local place and not a franchise so do not expect a corporate feel. Staff is friendly and the quality of the food is too notch. Family friendly so bring the kids. This is not a library and can get a little loud when it is busy. This is one of my regular spots.

Bad service and flavorless food. Our waitress never came to check on us, I had to finally ask a nearby waitress for water, which our waitress finally brought out. Fajitas tasted bland, which I never thought I would say. Overall, I cant recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

Food is good. Seevice was less than satisfactory. Went here for lunch with my daughter. That salsa was piping hot. Which is good but not when you have to stand up to get the attn of someone to get you another drink. They brought my food first and got my daughters food wrong

I went to this place late at night the service was horrible and on top of that my car got broken into along with other cars. The owner came out and said the camera had just gotten broken the day before. Obviously it was an inside job. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE

They have delicious food at affordable prices. Service is great. Only thing I hate now is that now they have karaoke nights in wkends....ugh. I hate noisy and ridiculous people trying to act like artists but sing awful:/
