Decided to try this place because of all the positive reviews. I just came back from having lunch at this place. What struck me first is that the place looks dirty. The floors are dirty, the walls are dirty, the tables all have smudges on them, the borders (that connect the floor to the wall) are all beaten up and dirty, the ceiling is caving in, pictures on the wall are crooked (come on, how difficult is it to straighten that?). We should have just walked away but before we realized it we were seated at a table. The coke was flat (the waitress brought us a can of coke instead, she didnt seem happy about this). I ordered a kung pao and my friend ordered a shrimp with mixed vegetables. The lunch specials were priced about 50 cents cheaper than any competitors. The food was below average. And to be honest, it was pretty disgusting to eat food in a place that is so run down and so visibly dirty. Like I said, we should have walked away. Will we go there again? Never, never, never.

We tested out Cafe China today - and it was awesome food! As of tonight, this is our new Chinese place. I had the General Tsos chicken and it was the best general chicken Ive had in a long time. Perfectly seasoned, ample portions and if you like spicy, they still use the the chinese peppers. The Sweet n sour chicken was above average. Egg Drop soup was tasty as well. Crab puffs were not the store-bought Sysco kind - they seemed like they were homemade. The menu says that they serve chinese healthy foods - I would say that their food was a lot less greasy than many of the other places in 77055. Next time Im going to try another of the 47 differnet lunch / dinner combo meals they have.

Doesnt look like much from the outside. But they serve the best Egg Foo Young Ive ever had in my 47 yrs on Earth and they top it off with a huge assortment of Asian Vegetables. But they only do so when you dine in. To go orders dont seem as good and the portions seem smaller as opposed to when you dine in. The food is always fresh and made to order. Its a quiet, friendly,low-key,family restaurant. One in which they at times have their 2 well behaved adorable kids at a table doing homework ect.. Family 1st, I always say. Definitely worth a look.

The food I ordered was OK but the environment killed it. I was just in there 20 minutes ago.. it was a boring-dirty environment. I stepped in and I wanted to walk out but I gave it a shot since I was hungry. They had a boring menu and the other tables were dirty and only 2 people working. I was expecting people in there but I was the ONLY one, a guy walked in but changed his mind and left. For sure never coming back for dine in.

I pass this place all the time and decided to try it one night when my family requested take out and I was TOO tired to cook. The food is delicious-fresh, hot and not overly cooked or greasy with sauces like alot of chinese food. We used to eat at Hunan Inn but this place is FAR superior! Added bonus is the portions are HUGE!

Sticky tables with dried .grease. 2 day old fried rice. Good for people that have no clue what Chinese food is. First clue should be that no Asians eat there. If you like the Panda fast food garbage, you will like this place. Better choice is to go into the Hmart next door into the food court.

The chicken lo mein is excellent. Ive beening eating here since they first opened. The place isnt really all that clean looking because I think its a small family that owns it but the food has always been very good!! Support them. Very nice soft spoken lady there.

By far the most horrible Chinese restaurant ever. Its disgusting. I wish I could give it less than one star. Its greasy, when you do get a hint of any sort of flavor...Its rancid! Gross! I got my food home, took one bite and threw it in the trash....DISGUSTING!

Its ok nothing outstanding, but the veggies were fresh and crisp. Drinking water did not have any strange taste as I have experienced in some resturuants. Most of the traffic was take out, place was empty.

The owners are very friendly and food is delicious. This is a great place for take out as you can usually call in your order and it is ready to pick up within ten minutes.

LOVE IT!!! I have been eating at Cafe China for years and it is one of the few places that I can actually eat. Their food has NO MSG!! Plus it tastes great and their fast!
