I grew up eating Sunday Dinner at my grandmothers every week....traditional Italian food in every sense. Calabria Mia is by far the single best old school, just like grandma made Italian restaurant, not only in Westchester, but that I have been to. The food is phenomenal, nothing on the menu disappoints...but oh, the chicken parm...our daughters (who dont like chicken parm) called it heaven (well, now they love it!). The service is absolutely outstanding. Other restaurants in the area should send their staffs here for training. The wait staff is amazingly attentive but not in your face. I generally cringe when waiters come over to the table, not here, they are welcome. The owner is as friendly as they come, always greeting everyone and chatting at some point during dinner. Again, not intrusive, just perfectly right. The facade and the decor are a bit dated, but to me it adds to the charm. This is not one of those fancy, northern Italian, trendy cuisine restaurants, just REAL Italian food, and REALLY good. Do not leave without getting the tiramisu.

I went here for mothers day and was extremely happy with the entire experience. Food, service, atmosphere, etc were all really great. Tonight was my wifes birthday and so I decided to go back. Just as impressed. The food is amazing...thats coming from someone who grew up with an Italian grandmother in the house. The service was friendly and the owner was also very welcoming. I am excited to go back and try other dishes.
