I usually dont write reviews but this was a memorable experience! I had a Groupon (and it is a beautiful picture of SUSHI that is depicted on their Groupon ad!) that I had purchased. I read their reviews before we went and saw one that mentioned that they were going to get sushi with their Groupon but because it was 2 for 1 it was considered a "promotion" so the Groupon could not be used for sushi. We went yesterday and when we entered I specifically asked the Hostess if the Groupon applied to sushi. She said "yes". There were two "menus" taped to the wall at the end of the table that required almost kneeling on the benches to be able to read. One was for lunch "special" bento boxes. The other was for sushi "special". Pick 2 of the 15 sushi choices for a set price ($12 something). There was no mention at all for "Buy one, get one) They all looked really good so it took some time to finally decide on what 2 we each were going to get. When the waiter finally came he said..."oh, thats the dinner menu for sushi, Ill get you the lunch menu". 5 minutes later he comes back with ONE menu for the 2 of us. What does it take to bring 2 menus?? Again, it said "Lunch Special". "Pick 2 for $9 something. No mention of "buy one, get one free. We again studied it and finally decided on which 2 we each were going to get. When he came back to take our order he asked if we had a "Groupon". When I said "yes" he said that the deal was not for sushi as that was already "Buy one, Get one". We were astounded. We AGAIN studied a menu to make ANOTHER choice. We ended up getting the bento boxes (also labeled as "Lunch "Special" just as the sushi was). The sushi in mine was a small step above what you can get at your local grocery store. "Chefs Choice", (as advertised on the menu) was a roll with imitation crab and avocado as well as 3 nigiri topped with Salmon, Tuna and a White fish. Real imaginative for "Chefs Choice"! It also came with 3 fried items (egg roll of some sort, a Ragoon pastry of some sort and a shrimp pastry of some sort) and they were pretty good. It also came with a little salad that had no salad dressing at all. It was iceberg lettuce with some shaved carrots and purple cabbage. I asked if the dressing was accidentally left off and was told. "No, it does not come with dressing". My partner got Teriyaki Salmon instead of the sushi bento box and he did say that was pretty good. Add this to the fact that the place was deserted when we got there (arrived at about 1:20 so the lunch rush was over) and waited for about 10 minutes before anyone even approached the table to bring water or take a drink order. Not impressed at all.

First and LAST time! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I never rated any place till now, but I must let others know about this place! Ill try to be short but the list is endless. First of all, I called in trying to make reservation. They said they dont take reservations just come by. When we arrived their first question was: "did you make a reservation?" :) Once we got our seats the waitresss first words: "we charge $3 extra for the kid"! I said fine and ordered the "Imperial dinner for two" It is the most expensive on their menu. Then the chef came and started his routine. We got our one shrimp/person appetizer. It tasted very well. Then, the rest of the food was just not eatable! It was so salty that I was under the impression that the chef thought we are goths and ordered salt instead of food! At the end, the waitress asked my wife how the food was not even noticing that everybodys plate was full. My wife said that the food was very salty. Waitresss reaction: "good!... what?" I mean come on, not speaking the language in United States is fine however, being rude is really not something I would tolerate. Then she said shell talk to the chef. After about 5 minutes she came back and she said that she talked with her manager and they are going to take 15% off of our bill. We were four of us and a 3 and a 5 years old child who touched one shrimp from their "Imperial dinner". their included famous desert was a fried banana with some cinnamon full of oil(Horrible)! The bill came with an added 18% gratuity for a party of 5 or more(they had to serve 4 people not 5 or more), but took of 15% for the food what we did not really touch! Next day, our friend had to cancel her business dinner because she got food poisoning from her sushi appetizer! We go out quite a lot, but this was my worst experience ever!

this was my first visit to Kabuki and its pretty clear to me that the owners either do not understand or care about teppanyaki. 1. ordered green tea, but was served some sort of lipton berry-flavored tea in an english-style coffee cup and they compounded by insisting it was green tea. 2. soup served was not miso, but some sort of beef bouillon-base stock. Apparently this is standard practice at this establishment. 3. Cook was clearly untrained and managed to completely cook the taste out of everything. No presentation, no conversation, no entertainment for the children whatsoever. Food was completely destroyed. 4. Bulgogi is actually on the teppanyaki menu here (which is a first), but it is clearly not bulgogi. You cannot cook bulgogi on a teppanyaki grill, so I expected it to be pre-cooked in the back and heated. Nope. bulgogi was cut into cubes, mixed with vegetables, and cooked on the grill. Having lived in Asia (including Japan and Korea) for 15 years, I know what green tea and bulgogi are supposed to taste like. I didnt expect a benihanas, but this was easily the worst teppanyaki experience I have ever had.

Food is great if you can ever get the waitress to take your order and to take it right(for 4 people out of our group who said zucinni and onions they were charged carrotts, good thing the cook verifys or else we would have all been rabbits), took us over a hour for them to began to cook our food, once we had food it was as if the waitress was through with us. they did not come back to check our drinks. Once we had eaten and were ready for checks on one asked if we would like to go cups or boxes. But if you ask for a box of a to go cup it takes another 15 minutes for the waitress to get them. Once we had our checks there was confusion again on how to hand them out. Then it took over 45 minutes to bring back our cards and receipts. The waitress looked confused by a table of 13, and made herself scarse. The place is advertisted as a place to take a big party to, but 13 people are clearly to many for there wait staff to handle. Food- the food was wonderfull, cook was very friendly and kept up a conversation with all of us. the food is the only reason to ever go back.

Been going here for many years. I noticed a 90 sanitation score the other night. They are not doing any fire flair during the cooking anymore. Theyve got unfinished wood on their tables under the granite tops. Our kids like to go here for the show. The food was as good as usual, but the show was terrible. No fire, maybe I can understand it, maybe. However, you need to replace it with something. Theres the onion volcano that bubbles up sauce and steam for one. Throwing rice to catch in your mouth. Squeeze boy who pees out a string or water. There are dozens of fun things besides the fire and I know your cooks know them. Could be we had an extra uninspired cook, but I didnt notice much excitement at the other tables. All we got was the egg roll. I noticed several people using Groupon. So it seems business may be down. Its going to keep going down without some improvements or lowering of prices. Just bring the food out cooked like you do at lunch and charge less like you do at lunch. Thats not why we went there for dinner though.
