My wife and I were in the area looking for a hamburger place but wanted a not chain place with the feel of a locals favorite. We checked out several places before stopping at Pappas hamburger. Wow, we loved it. One way we measure the burger quality is if it needs ketchup to cover the taste. Not this burger! We will return. The burgers are all 1/2 lb burgers so I got the bacon cheeseburger and my wife got the peppercorn ranch burger kids size (1/4 lb). What a pleasant surprise. This is just another example of a quality Pappas restaurant. The waitstaff was good as well. We didnt have to ask for one thing. Jana served our table and she kept our drinks full and when time to leave asked if we wanted to go cups! If you go there ask for her section. Its actually nice to find a restaurant where they understand we are not obligated to eat at their restaurant and treat you as honored guests. We will return!

Pappas Burger is not your ordinary restaurant. The atmosphere is unlike any other restaurant in Houston. The energy that everyone has flows throughout the room and makes the experience so much better. It is always busy and everyone is extremely friendly. The food is delicious, and there are so many options to choose from. From burgers to Oriental chicken salad, there is easily something for everyone on the menu. The staff are young and energetic and you are sure to get the service you need. My family and I have been going for years and have yet to have a bad experience here. This restaurant does not disappoint!

Decent Burger & More Joint... Pappas tends to be ridiculously crowded at peak times. The menu is actually far more varied than in average burger places, with everything from salads to catfish and shrimp available. The food served is of excellent quality, if a little more expensive than I would have expected in a restaurant of this kind. My catfish and shrimp were fried to perfection, but the fries were a little on the soggy side. Service was professional and attentive, and the restaurant itself is well-kept and clean, though the seating arrangements are more than a little cramped. Solid 4, overall...

This is a good take on making a great burger. The parking is a little tight, yet when I entered the doors the set up is clean and organized. The price for a burger ranges from $13 to $17 dollars. The buger comes with fries and they are decent but nothing too fancy. The burger is high quality meat with little gristle. Overall I think the bun qould be better if it was toasted a little bit. The bun was soft and fresh yet a light toast would of gone a long way. The service is attentive yet not too personable or inquisitive. This is probably one if t he best burger spots in the galleria.

Its a pretty good burger and you can get onion rings rather than fries, but the burger will set you back $15-20 once you include tax and tip. To me its not worth that much despite that its tasty. I also dont like the mixed counter order yet I still have a waiter thing. Let me just order and pay and the counter or let me just sit down and give me a menu... this combo way is just silly. If I go back, it would be for the half rack of ribs with onion rings for $15.

Two things annoy me about Pappas Burger. You walk up to the counter to order, sit down and then waitstaff brings the burger to you. It isnt a true dining experience with waitstaff (unless you are one of those persons who consider Sonic full service). So. What if anything do you tip? Next why do they have to compress the burgers so that they are more like eating a hockey puck? There are some good things about Pappas. But for me, once was enough.

Wow, this place doesnt know how to cook fries! Really! We got a plate of greasy under cooked fries with our burgers. When the manager was asked to fix it we got a new order of the same. Cool greasy wet damp fries! The poor little lady who said she was the manager didnt know how to fix it. Sad, better put back on the training wheels before someone gets sick! The burger was good! But at $14 a burger there are better places to go.

Meh. I really cant see paying $16 for a burger meal ever again. This cheeseburger was really nothing to write home about and I probably would have been better off just going to get free burgers from Boondocks (bar on Westheimer that grills every Sunday evening, go there!). I know Pappas is a well known and well liked chain in Houston, but seriously, what was the big draw for this restaurant? Def not the price, Ill tell you that.

If youre craving a good, juicy burger you could do a lot worse than Pappas! Personally, I like the mushroom Swiss and Peppercorn Ranch burgers. Obviously if youre looking for light, organic fare youre in the wrong place! But if you dont mind getting a bit messy while eating a good burger and fries, definitely give them a shot. It does get busy and loud inside, but the servers help keep orders straight and your drinks topped off.

Decent burgers at this establishment. They arent the best burgers in Houston, but not the worst either. Being a "Pappas" named restaurant, I expected a bit more. The burgers were a bit "oversized" and greasy for my taste. A burger doesnt have to be overly heavy for it to be good. I would like to taste the beef and ingredients, not just a bunch of heavy sauces and oil. For me, the fries were the highlight of my meal.

I wanted to try an American burger while Im here in Houston. Pappas Burger was on the list of the 10 best burgers on CultureMap Houston, and its not too far from the hotel so I gave it a go. Not a single regret! I ordered their cheeseburger with a medium-well cooked patty and it was just right. The fries was excellent as well. Service was quick and very friendly. I finished very full, with a happy face and stomach.

About as perfect of a burger that you can get. Being right next door and co-owned by the best highroller steakhouse in town has its benefits because they say the trimmings from their dry aged prime beef get sent over to be included in the hand ground patties. Burgers are the huge and juicy style and my orders come with the thickest slice of cheddar cheese and thickest slices of bacon you can get imagine.

As with any Pappas restaurant the food is good. Atmoshpere was great and the service was prompt and friendly. However, the prices they charge for a burger and fries is RIDICULOUS!!! My wife and I both had a burger with fries and water and the bill was $36.00 before the tip. No burger is worth that price. Give me a Tookies burger over this any day. Theyre not only better, but half the price.

Good food, if a bit overpriced. Very crowded, even late at night. Service was so-so. They have a system where you order when you walk in the door, then find a seat. Took almost a half hour before the server assigned to my section even acknowledged me, and showed no real interest in making sure my order was correct or refilling my drink. Might be worth trying again, but its still up in the air.
