This place beats everything, especially considering chains - which could only pretend to offer the freshness of condiments that this place does. You get a hand-crafted (!) burger on an absolutely perfectly fresh, and freshly toasted bun, that you get to dress up as you please, with ingredients that are impossibly fresh. The burger itself is not some circular stamped-out thing; it was actually created for you, and you know it; no two are the same, and you know that it was truly hand-crafted. They have an "organic" feel and taste of an honest, no-BS burger patty. Beside the incredible bun and perfectly cooked patty, you are presented with a veritable salad bar of condiments, the components of which are impossibly fresh - lettuce that yields with a crunch, onions that taste like they were sliced straight off.. I am not BSing you here; I live within spitting distance of this place, tried them once, am addicted... There have been a lot of (non-chain) businesses coming and going from this "strip mall" here at I-10 and Barker-Cypress, and Burger Tex is still there. Give them a try and you will know why. No joke. Oh! Do try their onion rings. You may thank me personally. :)

We were on our way back home to Seguin, and needed something good to get us through the drive. Reviews enticed us to try Burger Tex Grill. Boy, are we glad we did! We rolled in eight minutes before quitting time, and asked if they felt like making a couple of more burgers, to which they most sincerely replied that they would. We got a couple of very fresh burgers, with the homemade buns, that are just spectacular, and their very special sweet potato fries...amazing! The burger meat was excellent quality and so delish! There were three guys working there, and they all were very nice, and didnt give us any bad vibes for holding them up in their closing process. We love that you get to add your own toppings, so you can make it exactly like you like it. We cant wait to go back the next time were in Houston. Even more exciting, we were told they have a location in Austin, and one coming to San Antonio. We go to both of those cities frequently, and are definitely going to look them up. What an excellent experience!

After hearing good things about another location I went to this location and must say was very disappointed. The burger was just OK. Nothing special about it. Dont know if any other locations are better but definitely would not return. We went on a saturday around lunch time and there werent many people there. Maybe that should have been a sign. The bacon burger had a very dry patty and two very skimpy pieces of bacon. The bun was probably the best part. They are also pricey in my opinion but maybe if I had enjoyed the food I wouldnt think twice about it.

Went here because of the great reviews, was severely disappointed. I came in late in the afternoon and was the only person in the store. The burger was fresh cooked for me, but still bland. The toppings looked like they had been sitting out for a while, literally just food service grade pickles tomatoes jalapenos and lettuce in stainless food service trays. Nothing special about this place.

Patties are fresh and buns are made in house. I have not tried the Bulgogi burger but Ive heard thats the best. Burger Tex has a toppings bar including a pot of melted cheese and a pot of grilled onions so I dont fee like you need to add cheese to your burger when asked. I usually pour out my fries and put some melted shes in the fries plate then dip the fries in the cheese - yummy.

Burgers are about the entire thing; not just the meat and bread. Its everything in between. Here, the toms, lettuce, fries, cheese for your fries, seasoning for your fries, pickles.... theyre all GOOD and FRESH. Even the soft drinks are good - and let me tell ya, its possible to screw up soft drinks. Restaurants do this all the time. Thumbs-up to Burger Tex.

Love the clean and fresh food. The idea of separating salad bar is fantastic. I never have to wait long time for food. Great counter service as well. Overall, one of the best fast food store in Houston. Highly recommend to others.

This place is horrible. I ordered a 6oz combo and the patty was nasty, they forgot my bacon/cheese and I literally got 4 cold onion rings. I will NEVER go back here. Worst burger ever.
