OMG MUST TRY. I will be back, and very soon. AMAZING food that is actually matched with AMAZING service. You order at a counter, and then you pick up your food- or if youre like us, they figure out where you sit and remember you and beat you to the punch. They even wrapped up our food Togo for us. So thoughtful. Theyre fast and their plates are beautifully presented. I had the general tsaos chicken and it was PHENOMENAL. But so was everything else. Its about $12 a plate and you DEFINITELY get your moneys worth and then some. The guy who ordered in line before us was getting Maba for the second night in a row. After my first bite, I didnt blame him. Try this place and youll be pleasantly surprised and happy.

Beautiful and minimal decor. Counter ordering and food is brought to the table. The prices were very reasonable...9 bucks for my dumpling entree and 12 for the Singapore noodles. I know that the food was freshly made because they were able to make the Singapore noodles vegetarian. What really stole the show were the dumplings which were placed in a delicate rice wine sauce and garnished with thin slices of cherry tomatoes and jalapenos... The meat filling was well seasoned, the skin was light and airy and the sweet and spicy sauce just lifted me to heaven. Ill definitely be back here soon. Oh and skip the Sweet sake rice if you dont like fermented stuff.

Wow. Delicious food (wontons, chicken wings & shrimp fried rice, and General Tsaos chicken) and attentive staff. My mom and I ordered the wontons in addition to the two chicken dishes because one review said the portions were small. Ummmm. Not really. The wontons were really yummy, but the stars were the General Tsaos chicken and the shrimp fried rice. Everyone had described the chicken, but it somewhat defies description. Order it. Youre welcome. And the shrimp fried rice was the standard by which all fried rice should be judged. Light but rich, with lots of fresh, pink, perfectly cooked shrimp.

Maba never disappoints me! Im Asian and whenever Im craving for Chinese "Tai Chao" or rice dishes, I will definitely check this place out. The place is very underrated and little crowd shouldnt deter you from giving them a try as they are only a few months old in town. Try the fried tilapia fish and ask for extra fish sauce and drizzle it on top of white rice. It will blow your mind, I promise! Oh and the wanton soup and the Trung sister is a must try too! Oh, also dont be discourage if you need to order from the counter and take your own utensils, its just how they work at the moment.

Had the pork belly taco which was fresh tasting due to the pickled onions and cucumber garnished with cilantro placed in crisp deep, not oily, flour tortilla. The Trung sisters dish of bacon wrapped broiled shrimp on top of a bed of shrimp fried rice was lightly flavored. The cool slightly sweetened garden vermicelli contrasted nicely with the skewered grilled chicken. Tofu topped with thinly sliced sausage was served with a mild sweet soy sauce. White walls with modern art were a pleasnt departure from the usual decor frequently encountered in Michigan asian restaurants.

This place is AWESOME. Ive been looking for a place in Houston where I can find good Asian food that just isnt the ordinary take out youd find otherwise, and Maba is it! The owner/chef is super nice, and he just has an extraordinary command of great flavors and the creative use of them. Really great food in a casual atmosphere. Highly recommended!!

Im sort of shocked that this place isnt more popular in the evening. Everything Ive ever tried here has been really good, the service is friendly and helpful, the prices are good. Aside from a little trouble parking (which is ubiquitous in Houston now - and they have valet if you want it) whats not to love? Ill be back here on a regular basis.

5+STARS! The food was impeccable, from the presentation to the taste. (Miso Glazed Salmon and the pot stickers ) The staff is very tentative and extremely friendly. The chef came out to our table several times, checking on us and for a friendly conversation. This was our first and definitely not our last time here!

Great green papaya salad, won tons, pork belly "taco", salmon filet and several other things, all outstanding -- fresh and skillfully prepared. Stylish, simple dining room, order at the counter and they cheerfully bring your food to your table. Fair prices for great quality.

Someone sat down, looked at quick simple dishes and asked How should this be better? The result was stir fried edamame with jalapeños & shallots, pork belly bah-mi and nicely seasoned cai lan and a number of other menu items that I will have to try on future visits!
