Where do I start? When I was living in Houston last year my friend and I were Lolas regulars we loved it. I was just down to visit her after moving and of course Lolas was on the list, sorry for us it was. I ordered the roast beef debris sandwich, it was served swimming in greasy au jus, causing the bread to become dough again, my sweet potatoe fries were dripping wet in grease and limp like an over cooked spaghetti noodle. My friend had the chicken fried steak her green beans were greasy and the mashed potatoes were like mashed potatoes mixes with watery grits. We talked to the manager who very unprofessionally grabbed a chair flipped it around and sat at the end of our booth. He told my friend twice he would take them and bring new ones. Mind you these potatoes tasted like they had curdled milk in them, instead he comes back with more in a plastic container and tells us he thinks they taste bad too. He takes my fries at least I didnt have to stare and the dripping greasy pool of what I can only imagine as rancid. A server brings my fries and spills them everywhere, while the manager now insists that the potatoes have changed and they are adding Romano cheese really would that be rancid Romano cheese. I ate 1/2 my meal my friend only 1/3, there was no offer of a partial refund or even free or a desert just a ton of excuses. Horrible is the only non exploitive word I can use here. Will never be back to Lolas. I recommend you stay away too.

Really enjoy eating here most times with friends because the food is cooked to order, the coffee and sodas are good and you can not ask for a better wait staff. They are friendly, constantly working and quick to bus empty tables. Timing is everything here as its very popular during the weekends. Im a fan of their breakfast and you cant go wrong with most of the dinner options. "Why?" do you ask I only rate Lola as "3" stars? First: every visit has been met with either a dirty utensil, dish or cup - Sanitation is a real problem here. Second: The manager seems to be more dead weight when the staff are being swamped. Also, when their "corn beef hash" consisted of less than 1 tsp of hash and all potatoes and onion, it was immediately presented to him. He said "thats our hash" and walked off. Not one ounce of concern. The waitress and busboy both apologized when asking why it wasnt touched. Ive never seen such a poor manager making over $35.00 on a breakfast for two. Stick with the cheese grits, check your utensils and enjoy an upscale Waffle-House in the Heights experience.

I really like the atmosphere at Lola. A modern twist on a diner with a telephone booth door. The staff is always friendly even when its busy. The menu has typical diner items, which appeal to my fella. I will say that I’ve only found a few things I’ve really liked. Just not a diner girl, I guess. But the goat cheese salad is good, needs one more goat cheese croquette though, the hamburger was juicy and soaked through the ciabatta bun it was on. Which my fella says is a good thing. I ended up finishing it with a knife and fork, a little too messy for me to get again. The Thanksgiving sandwich however is great! The favorable rating is mainly for how much my fella likes the meat loaf and other menu items, the great staff, AND its BYOB. You cannot have an enough non-Italian BYOB options. It makes up for the slightly higher than they need to be prices. Not to mention how cheerful they supplied a wine opener. After looking over reviews I will definitely go back to try breakfast.

Disappointingly underwhelming. Not worth what they charge at all. Not terrible, dont get me wrong. Just, anyone I know could make food that tastes exactly like this, or better. The Lola Burger was on thin toasted bread that was so tough I had to tear all the crusts off to eat it without dragging half a piece of bread off with every bite. The patty was terribly dry and plain and hard. Room temperature. Spring mix was soggy and wilted. The only thing I did enjoy was the rosemary sweet potato fries. THOSE were excellent. Gave a big portion and they were hot and delicious. Pretty decent Mediterranean style pasta salad too. My friend who had the BLT felt much the same. Pretty disappointed with the sandwich but the sides were pretty darn good. I wouldnt suggest it if you desire anything but a side dish.

The chicken tender kids meal was mostly breading with almost no chicken at all so very disappointing. The omelette I had got made with artichokes that had turned. It was a very nasty surprise when I bit into it. The staff was very nice and offered to make a new one, but if one ingredient is so sour I didnt really feel like risking it and just at my fries. My husband said his burger was ok. Overall friendly staff but they were short staffed when we went. Ordering took a long time because one of the registers was being tied (possivly closing the till?) And our food sat on the counter for a while because they didnt have enough people running food. I give the food a 1 and the staff a 3 since its not their fault they were understaffed and are nice.

Nice, small diner, with breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner options. Space is bright and the patio is nice when it is not too warm. Food is good, but uninspired. $5 for a "fresh squeezed" orange juice is a bit much, and self service for cutlery, drinks, napkins, and condiments gets old quickly. On my last trip my wife and I had brunch - I had the so-cal omlet (with a lump of goat cheese in the middle) and my wife had a standard 2-egg breakfast. The sausage was delicious and potatoes well cooked, but the toast wasnt even served with butter. Food is good and the price is right (except for the OJ), would eat here again when looking for comfort food. Nothing extraordinary, but good food all the same. Nice neighborhood hangout.

I was so excited when this was opened. The sign looked delightful, and I was a huge fan of Pinks Pizza. However my experience was not well at all. Ordering at the counter felt awkward and rushed. The tattooed gentleman who served me seemed like he could careless if I was there or not. I was given a number much like at Whataburger. 1/2 of my Steak was undercooked, he said that I could not have it taken back to cook since I had eaten part of it. I had to ask for my condiments. What do you do in a half service restaurant? There is no bill, I already paid. YOU LEAVE WITH NO TIP FOR TERRIBLE SERVICE AND DONT COME BACK.

I really wanted this to be a great visit. I had heard so many great reviews about this place! Where do I begin...Placed food order was told many things they had run out of. Waited for 1 hour for one plate to be delivered! The chicken was burnt to the T! Even though I ordered grilled chicken they gave me burnt breaded chicken. No bed of mushrooms included, wrong salad dressing delivered. Our other plate never made it to table before we decided to walk out. The women on staff was as friendly and helpful as she could be on the plus side! Not sure if I would consider another try but hopefully it was just 1 bad day for them!
