I first tried this place at their old location years ago and remember being impressed. Decided to try again for dinner last night. While the hostess and the waiter were nice and polite, the service was *extremely slow*. We were only 2 people, and ordered as soon as the waiter got to us (no drinks or appetizer or any special requests). Yet it took us over 2 hours to finish and pay. The restaurant was not that busy. Our section was almost entirely empty. But whenever we needed something - water, our meals, the check - the waiters were busy socializing with each other and drinking sangria. Im really not a picky person and dont expect waiters to fawn over me, but I think the service needs to be improved significantly. The worst thing was that, because of the slow service, our food came out cold, implying that it had been ready but left without getting picked up by the staff. So I wasnt even impressed by my meal at the end of the day, on top of the frustration of having such slow service for a simple dinner.

I really enjoyed lunch during a weekday at La Fisheria. It was just a short walk from the Lyric Arts Center. The interior was charming, and I really like the colorful tile floors. The whole interior was bright and sunny. I really liked the soup they brought to everyone at the table, I think it was kind of a vegetable soup with potatoes. I would have liked to have had more, because the small cup they brought it in was just two - three ounces. They seem really big on ceviche, which I am not a great fan of, and I ordered talapia. It as a whole fish, and it appeared to be deep fried. I think it was a bit overdone, because it was hard to find any actual fish to eat. My friends liked what they had for lunch. I asked for bread and they seemed a little surprised that anyone would ask for bread. I liked the place and would go back, and try something different. Its a fresh, original place.

I was just so disappointed. We (group of 12) made a reservation a week in advance and the staff was not prepared what so ever. We get there at the time of our reservation (12:30) and to start our tables are not prepared. After we make our drink orders they take about 20 minutes to get here and order food. Our appetizer takes 1 hour!!. I get we came during rush hour but my goodness. We came at 12:30 and at 2:30 we get our main entree. Orders are incorrect and 1 of our party members didnt even get there food during the entire visit after bringing it up. I understand we have a group but we made reservations a week an advance and you would think you would pre plan for this type of event. Whats worse is when we bring the problem up they try to make things alright by bringing shots and not everyone drinks in our group. By far the worst service Ive had from a restaurant in years.

Walked over here after happy hour on Main Street last night. I was immediately in love with the floor tiles! We sat at the bar and had good service. The mezcal-habanero margarita and the cucumber-jalapeno margarita are must gets if you like spice. They start you off with free chips and a salsa trio, which was unexpected but of course welcome. The menu was full of incredible sounding items, I cannot wait to try more, they have a lunch menu dedicated to different tacos as well that arent all on the dinner menu. I had the tuna tostada, which ended up being several mini tostada, delicious. Zach had the soft shell crab torta. They give you a rubber glove to eat it with and then pour a pepper sauce all over the top. So delicious. Cant wait to go back.

Good food, horrible service! 1) While I was in the restroom I saw a waitress leave the stall, tie her apron back on, then leave without washing her hands. 2) Our waitress brought out the wrong appetizer and refused to correct it and bring out what I actually ordered. She insisted that I forgot what I ordered instead of simply correcting her mistake. After back and fourth of me explaining to her I would never order ceviche, she said she will swap it this one time! I was shocked that she didnt just say "ok" and bring me what I ordered in the first place. Because of her bad attitude for the rest of the visit, I have seriously never felt so uncomfortable at a restaurant. Would never go back or recommend to a friend!

This was my husband and Is first time at La Fisheria. We had a great experience, good food, ambience, etc., but I want to specifically mention the care that our waiter took with us. Antonio was always on top of things; checking on drinks, making sure our food came out in a timely manner. He noticed at the end of the meal that my husbands tuna steak came out a little bit more rare than he requested (medium). He immediately brought us dessert and apologized for the mistake from the cook. We go many places in this city, and service like this is hard to find. I hope if you are reading this you decide to come to La Fisheria! Its truly a great dining experience. And let Antonio recommend you a beer! He knows what is good.

I had a business meeting at la Fisheria which a friend recommend this place to me . I Was so amazed with professional and friendly service since we walked in clean and beautiful modern decor. I tried the trio ceviche for appetizer since I heard its the best ceviche in town which I totally agreed after I tried it. Main course was deep fried whole lobster which it was delicious and so tasty. Cocktail i had their famous cucumber jalapeño margaritas very good and freshening. I really enjoyed everything and I will definitely return to try more delicious authentic Mexican food . Highly recommended.

Greatly disappointed for the experience on a Saturday at 430. Service was slow, drinks went unfilled and unattended, food died on the window yet place was no where near capacity. For the price i was not impressed. Natural ceviche and tomato based one were tasty, mole sauce good but did not come off as "elevated" Mexican food. Bathroom was in shambles and reminded me of something you deal with in rural America and i expected to find a condom dispenser and a phone number on the wall. Heard great things about the good and chef and was let down in food, service, and operations.

Lugar original, buen servicio, bonito ambiente, buena comida aunque puede mejorar mas. Algunos platillos si saben a mexicooo!! Pero algunos platillos la combinación de sabores es extraña!! De los mejores lugares en houston!!

Unbelievably fresh and delicious food. Remarkable, friendly, professional service, CLEAN everything. We were treated like royalty (as were the other guests present) and cannot wait to return. Ive never wanted to live in Houston, but would almost consider it just so we could dine here weekly. Michele (meetchell) our server was kind, knowledgeable, responsive and allowed my wife and I to enjoy the PERFECT date night. Absolutely phenomenal experience.

Walked here with co-workers for lunch today. Really disappointing they doubled their prices for Super Bowl week. Said the menu was created for "Super Bowl" week. Ask for a manager, but he/she refused to speak to us. This was my first and unfortunately last time here. Decided to walk a couple blocks over to La Calle Tacos & Tortas , absolutely fantastic. AND they didnt upcharge this week!
