Visiting from Joplin, MO we discovered Smokeys through a Google search of "Best BBQ in Fort Worth," and this place showed why it was among the results. We got there a little after 7 on a Saturday night and were the only people there. Combine that with their menu being limited (they were out of all meats except chopped or sliced beef and ribs) and I was initially a little concerned, but it didnt take long for that to change. They served us so quick the food was out to the table before I could get my drink and sit down, and once I took a bite my initial concerns were proven completely wrong. I ordered the two meat plate with chopped beef and ribs. The chopped beef was perfect, nothing more to say. The two ribs were massive with a ton of meat that came right off the bone. Both meats were excellent without sauce, but once I threw some house barbeque in the mix things got out-of-hand good. It was easily one of the best sauces Ive had, I actually bought a pint of it to bring back to Joplin. After eating my plate and finishing off my wifes as well, I realized I had forgotten to get my sides! Im not a huge potato salad or coleslaw guy, so I just grabbed some baked beans... excellent along with the rest of the meal. On top of all of this, we received outstanding service from the staff (The chef, Rosco, was extremely friendly and even offered us a free piece of their homemade pecan pie. By the way... it was ridiculously good). If youre in Fort Worth and craving some barbeque, you cant do better than Smokeys!

The staff and the food are incredible. After living in Texas since I turned five I never had real Texas BBQ so I never understood what really good BBQ was. Last month I had some real Texas BBQ. I have been chasing that same taste all over DFW trying all kinds of places and Smokeys has been one of the best. The bark on the brisket is so good I can not wait to go back and tell everyone I know. All the ingredients are made in house and delicious. The staff are so friendly and loved to make sure I was taken care of. One of the owners sat down with me and we had a great conversation about their history and all their food that was made in house like their pie. They make the vanilla extract for the pie in house and it really shows when you put this much effort into your food you can really taste the difference. I recommend to try this if you like BBQ and if you love BBQ why have you not tried some of the best BBQ in Texas at Smokeys?

After reading several reviews here and Zomato I decided to give it a try. Ive had some top notch BBQ in my life (featured on Travel and Food Network) and this place is nothing special. It was mediocre at best. I ordered the two meats, two sides and with a drink came out to $14. To me, thats a pretty hefty price but since it is BBQ I paid no attention. I ordered sliced brisket and ribs. To start off, the brisket was a bit dry and really thin sliced. On top of that, the portions were really small. The ribs werent too bad. Id rate them a 3 but they were really small.

Best ribs I have ever had. I pass up the sauce because they are so good. All the sides are made in house, so no tubs of potato salad from a grocery store. Their beans are great (partly because they are cooked with rib tips in them), as are the other sides. AND THE PIE! If you go, safe room for the vanilla, buttermilk, pecan pie, which is also made in house. I dont know anything about the other deserts because I cant get past this one. In fact, my birthday cake turned into a pie this year because of this pie.

If theres one word I would use to describe Smokeys, that would be inconsistent . Sometimes the ribs/brisket are good but sometimes dried out. Whats worse is their nonchalant attitude towards their business hours. The last two times I visited their establishment during their posted business hours, they were closed, there wont be a third opportunity for failure. Unreliable. The only thing consistent about this eatery is their sides, which are consistently poor.

Wife and I stopped in today. Not a bad place. Sides were pretty good. I ordered brisket and ribs. The ribs for my taste were too mushy. I like a little bite to them. The brisket didnt have much of a smoke flavor, but it was tender and well seasoned. Overall just not what I was looking for. But please try for yourself. Im very picky when it comes to good old smoked bbq.

Im not a huge fan of bbq but I live right up the street from this place and I smell it every morning...finally tried it and omg they have it going on!!! Paul is awesome, the atmosphere in the place is great...it may be in the ghetto but its clean...and the bums cant afford to eat there and I have never seen one hanging around begging so you dont have to worry with that lol

Wow, Eddie Deen has out done himself! This place used to be one of the worst spots in town and I wouldnt have gone within a mile of it and now look at it: the food is great and the service is friendly - you cant beat it. Ill be back again and again. Thanks, Eddie, for turning this place into a great joint to meet with friends and have a good time with great food.

Not much flavor and for a place called "Smokeys" there isnt very much smoke flavor to the meat. My ribs were fatty, overcooked and seemed like they were cooked in an oven and not a smoker. Brisket lacked smoke flavor and was slightly overdone and dry. Sides were decent and the sauce was super tomatoey. This is not what I remember Smokeys being like before.

Went there last december and the food was great. The brisket is tender and moist and the pork was the same, both had a good smoke flavor which i like, because ive had others where the is barely any at all. The sides are good, nothing special there but the homemade buttermilk pie rrocks. Well worth a trip, i will b going back in february.

Best BBQ in town I think! Everything is delish; brisket, bread, potato salad (and I usually never get this anywhere else); sausage, etc. Service great - came for breakfast awhile back and their "brisket" omelette and biscuits and gravy are to die for! I always recommend this place. (OH yea, dont forget about the pies!!!)

Was there this past Saturday, 4-2-16 around 1:30 PM. Brisket and sausage was good, moist. Average size portions. Sides were OK, really liked the beans with bbq meat in them. Place seemed clean. Suggestion: Train new cashiers during off hours not on a busy Saturday lunch time. Plus trainers need lots of patience.
