Im writing this AS Im eating their fried strawberry pie. Yum.... 5 stars for the pie alone! I can understand why some others wouldnt rate this place as good. Its unexpected. Its not pure Texas bbq and it can throw you off if thats what you expect. The pork was on point, especially with the Carolina sauce. The other sauces were okay, more of an Asian flair for my taste. The brisket was tender and I prefer a good smokey sauce for brisket. Since they dont have that, Ill still to the pork and Carolina sauce. The spicy slaw was made with purple cabbage and has black and red pepper so it is indeed peppery but good. The pickled deviled egg was sooo tasty. I could have made a meal out of that! I sat outside and the flies were awful. Maybe they could hang some water baggies around to stop them. Still, Im an outdoorsy girl so I dealt with it. I cant give them less than 5 stars because originality is what Denton is about. Kudos!

Found myself in Denton for the first time over the weekend. The guy checking us in to the hotel recommended the Juicy Pig. Am I glad he did. The pulled pork had a flavor and texture Ive never experienced before, plus the chopped brisket was the most tender and juicy Ive ever experienced as well. After living in North Carolina for 5 years, its been hard to find a good Carolina BBQ. These guys nailed it with the Carolina sauce being one of 3 sauce options on the table. Although, it was hard to decide which one was the best. It was a bit pricey, but the staff was amazingly friendly, the food was awesome. The Juicy Pig will definitely be on the stop list next time I find myself in Denton. Thanks guys!!

No way these positive reviews are legit. They have to be from their friends. I love BBQ and I have to say Ive never found any I didnt like....until I came here. The meat was soggy (we tried 3 different kinds) and had no flavor. The smashed potato was the worst thing I think Ive ever eaten. The combination of ingredients mixed with a ton spice was just horrid. I thought it was Aprils Fools Day when they told me the price. So far over priced I thought I was hearing things. You can go to any other BBQ place and get more for your money. Not to mention the portion sizes were meant for a 2 year old. So angry this is where I had my mothers day lunch. What a waste.

The meats are tasty, no doubt, though less smoky than I prefer. When it first opened, the sauces were promoted as a key draw. They are fine, but the traditional is the most consistently tasty. Others are interesting but not particularly appealing. Their sides are the outstanding part of their menu. Whether its the two different potato salads, the three slaws, or the interesting - though sometimes oddly dry - pickeld deviled eggs, these sides are worth a visit. For me, the highlight is the mac and cheese. This is one of the very few places with the drier version of mac and cheese, which for my money is best with BBQ.

Serving sizes were small for a BBQ place, when someone thinks of BBQ you think of meat and a lot of it. The $15 whole pig plate fit neatly in a box a little bit bigger than the box a Big Mac comes in. The meat itself was ok, just very little of it for the price. I probably should have ordered the half pound of meat and added sides. The sides were not good and were not the typical BBQ sides. No mashed potatoes for example, no fried okra, no green beans. The borracho beans were inedible for me, way too much of what ever seasoning is in it. Tasted like someone started to make a chili and stopped after one seasoning.

I love this place. The food is amazing and the employees are very nice! Last night I had a party of about 40 people at my home and ordered all of the food from them. It was ready when they said it would be so I just showed up, piled it in my truck and hurry back home. It was hot, reasonably priced and more than enough to feed everybody! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! It doesnt matter if you are ordering a ton of food for many people or just stopping by to get a quick bite, their food is amazing!!

If you make bbq hot, you have no idea what youre doing, and you should get out of the business of making food all together! I wont pay for that kind of crap. Im relying on other reviewers that I know to tell me what this is like...basically, any place that makes hot bbq will not get our business...and when our group does go, we easily give 400$-900$ per visit So Ill see if its not just an anomaly, and they actually can make decet bbq... Dont ruin bbq! It so simple to get this right!

I went walking my dog after work one day and stumbled upon this place. I went back with my fiancé on our day off and its by far the best BBQ that Ive had in the denton area in the past 10 years Ive lived here. It is a bit expensive, and I would like to see the price come down a little, but for the quality and deliciousness it was definitely worth it. WIll definitely come back. It will just have to be a once every couple of weeks worth of a visit because of the price.

I have never been disappointed here. Really well made old fashioned BBQ with new age flair and local vibe. I often find this a better option than bet the house because of its consistency in maintaining great (I mean great) quality food in every experience as well as having a much more established and unconfused atmosphere. Im glad youre here in Denton JP. Keep it coming!

I live right by this place so I figured Id walk over and check it out. The people there are nice, and the whole attitude of the place is very simple and comfortable. I got the habanero sausage sandwich, potato salad and borracho beans. Everything was bomb a.f. Pricing was good too. I walked away before getting toppings to my sandwich though so make sure you do that.

Okay, nothing spectacular, but would come here again for bbq. Music was super loud, service was friendly, menu WAY overpriced, bbq was good but the sides were not worth it. Coleslaw was bland and potato salad tasted like it came from walmart. Sauces were fun to try and put together different flavors, but the one I chose was just the bbq sauce at the end of it all.

Not going back..... Paid $9 for one plain slice of white bread, 3 2oz slices of precooked pressed turkey, one pickled deviled egg, and less than a cup of coleslaw. The coleslaw was the best tasting thing on the entire plate. Neither the flavor or the portion size was sufficient for the value paid. The brisket was good but not good enough to pay that price...

Had Brisket and Sausauge , with Mac and Baked beans for side dishes. The meat was good, but The Mac and Cheese was horrible. Asked to switch them out for just French fries, and was told once we order...you cant change it. Never been to a restaurant that wouldnt offer another dish if you didnt like wha you had. It was our first, and last visit at this place
