11/09/16: 4.5 out of 5 - This place is so accommodating. The food... WOW! We tried the Coconut Miso Ramen and it was very tasty. I would definitely say, if you have an opportunity, this is a "must try" Ramen bowl. The Squid Leg Kara-age is still done well. 09/25/16: 4.5 out of 5 - First, let it be known, I really like a good bowl of ramen. What I dont like is paying too much for an okay bowl, let alone a subpar one. Akasaru Ramen is a small place, but its just right. The menu is to match with its four prefixes and its small plates (just love Izakaya). The ramen were excellent and just the right size, right amount of toppings, and fantastic broth. The small plates were good portions and prepped quite well. Everything was tasty. The service staff are nice, very accommodating and attentive. The place itself is kept clean. Definitely will be coming back, and I would definitely recommend trying this place once and decide for yourself.

A perfect local spot, not too crowded and small spot on menu. A trifecta of my perfect kinda place. So glad this addition has been flourishing on Alberta. I got a meat option and my roommate got the spicy mushroom. Both amazing, his was not super spicy but a flavorful kick. Pretty standard pricing around 10 bucks a meal. The ambiance is casual and industrial. I would like some more additives like plum sauce on the tables but they have the standard cock sauce. Good hearty eats and yummy sides. I like their pot stickers. Im in!

I can here with my brother and our friend about an hour before closing time. He got the spicy ramen and I got the Agedashi Tofu. The tofu was fairly good, but there were only like 3 pieces of mushrooms in the whole thing. I feel like I should have got more for the six dollars that I paid. Also, the seating arrangement is kind of awkward. Overall though, the place was decent and I would try it again.

Amazing customer service and great chicken karage. However, the ramen was terrible. The broth was extremely watered down to the point of no flavor. I had to add a lot of additional spices to get any flavor. I enjoy eating ramen often, specifically traditional Japanese ramen and this really lacked good broth and quality ingredients.

The best noodles I have had in Portland. To me the broth falls short of its neighbors at Boxer but good none the less. The only thing that irked me was the order at the counter policy. It discourages people ordering more and it is less enjoyable than being waited on. Oh well. Good food is hard to complain about.

Really nice, low key atmosphere. Authentic, feels like Japan. I take my daughters here every week. Very tasty Shio ramen, melt in your mouth pork belly. The Chicken Karage is delicious, we want to take the sauce home!

Had the spicy coconut curry ramen. Very very good. The sweet coconut mixed with the egg is a unique flavor. Highly recommended.
