I hate this diner with the ferocity of a hungry wolf. I would rather go, literally, any other place than dine-in here. Ive been to this restaurant several times and have never had a good experience here. The atmosphere is very calm and the food is above par, but that means nothing when you consider the service I have received. Every time I dine here, it is worse than the last time I was here. On several occasions I have had to flag my waiter down to start an order, check on my order, and then get a check. They were far too busy talking to other staff members to be bothered with something like their paying customers. I expect better from a restaurant that I consistently go to for a $22 breakfast item. Honestly, If youre going to eat here, order for delivery. Itll be cold and taste vaguely like Styrofoam but Id rather that, then deal with this environment.

Friends and I have been going to Chit Chat for many years and have gotten to know the staff as much as theyve gotten to know us (in and out of the place). We walk in and are greeted with friendly faces and (most of the time) catch up on things, joke around, etc... All while our food is most likely already being prepared due to us usually having "the usual" even though weve tried just about everything on the manu at some point or another. My experience here has never been a disappointing one, whether its the food or staff. Take out, delivery or when we decide to stay... Doesnt matter, its always a good time/food.

I love the Chit-Chat Dinner! Its beautifully decorated unlike any other dinner in NJ. Their signature Chit-Chat cards are a great way to get to know your friends while waiting on your food. The food is excellent! The portions are huge (I rarely can finish it all!) I recommend the daily specials. Their homemade soups are out of this world. Their Dessert display case is mouth watering!! (Try the Red Velvet Cake) The service is excellent, very friendly staff and their prices wont break your pockets. I definitely recommend this dinner to anyone wishing a fine dinning experience. 이웃동네에서 나름 유명하다는 다이너 첫방문. 다이너라는 것을 감안해도 메뉴가 너무 많아서 보기도 힘들고 고르기도 힘들었음. 내부 깔끔하고 서비스 좋음. 음식맛은 그냥 평균수준. 양은 조금 많은 느낌. 가격은 비싼 편. 결론적으로 브런치집을 지향하는 그냥 고급 다이너 정도. 가족끼리 따로 갈일은 없을 듯.

I live in Hackensack, work in the beverage and food industry, and have been 2 chit chat about 5 or 6 times and EVERY time the service sux....we stopped going there because of the poor service....the food comes out very quickly but the portions can be quite [email protected] was barely any grilled chicken in my gyro...than u have to ask the servers for eveything..napkins...sauce...creamers....its more of a hassle to go there and eventhough the ambiance is great, it does not make up for bad service and small portions...next time i want diner food ill go elsewhere.....

Worst service I have ever experienced on multiple occasions. Inappropriate comments towards guests or behind their backs, rude tone of voice, attitude over the phone and disrespect in person when confronted. In front of a manager- who did nothing even seeing that I was unhappy with my service and treatment. Really? #1 diner in New Jersey for horrible service? No thanks. Your employees are the face of your restaurant. I dont care if your food is good I will take my money elsewhere.

Chit Chat Diner its a bit on the expensive side of diners, but it never disappoints. The food presentation, quality, quantity and superior service makes it worthwhile. The appetizer Chili con Carne was tasty and a hefty appetizer that could be considered a meal in itself. Scallops Siciliano did not taste fresh but rather from frozen Scallops, but it was very good. Chit Chat is my favorite diner to go for special events, such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc

Okay on the plus side first our server was attentive and as fast as she could be. That being said appetizer sampler arrived with 2 of the 3 items barely lukewarm, and when I reviewed the check I was charged for a soda refill-in a nj diner. When I voiced my concern to the hostess/cashier I got the remark "were not like other diners" yes youre right, they serve hot food HOT and refills on the cokes are free. Guess where I am not going again?

When I went to Chit Chat Diner I purchased American Chinese food, so this review is for that portion of their menu. The only reason why I am giving this restaurant more than one star is because of the service. The waiters and waitresses were fantastic. However the food was mediocre at best, and the prices were appropriate for the amount of food but not the quality. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

go here for the most ridiculous awesome food ive experienced. there are some amazing and unique dishes, sandwiches, etc on their menu. had a great bbq pulled pork sandwich which had the hidden gift of several jumbo shrimp stuffed in the bottom. and being a diner, the breakfast choices are awesome. had the meat waffles, which has sausage, bacon and other meats fused into the waffle batter. amazing place

probably one of the most underrated diners in this area...i used to pass by this place all the time then one day i decided to give it a try and it was great...it is a great place to bring a date because they have these question cards and it can allow u to have something to talk about while u wait for your food or while u are eating..the food is good too and the service is also..

I am a frequent diner at Chit Chat. They are getting 4 stars due to the fact that they are open 24 hours and serve very delicious food. Now thats said, onto the negatives. 1 they are very expensive for a diner. 2 their portion size is very small.. many sandwiches are very small inside with mostly bread. I paid for extra onions and they barely put any on..

All done in MacKenzie Child fabrics and decor it is an experience. Bit more upscale then a standard diner but still. With that energy and look. Food is always good and service quick and friendly. Easy free parking in their lot and their large menu means everyone can find something they are looking for and like.

I have been going to the chit chat since It opened.I have been very happy with the food, they make whole wheat pasta dishes, fresh vegetables, interesting salads. they will cook anything you ask them to make - very rare in diner cooking.. and service was fine. chit chat is one of my favorite places to eat .

Finding a clean diner is always a win. Chit Chat had a really nice staff and the service is prompt. The menu is extensive. Yesterday I felt the food was a little underwhelming (low on salt) but the times before had been great. The coffee is hot and strong and the food is usually delicious....bonus is the bar!

Never disappointed. Service is great and so is the variety of choices on the menu. Today ordered pancakes with sliced apples, walnuts and raisins (nutty fruity) with warm maple syrup. Portion was large 3 pancakes took half home. Stop by, Im sure youll enjoy your dining experience .

Fun place, good food especially their specialities. However, their pancakes are rough and resemble cardboard. The grand slam breakfast is served on awkward plate sizes, terrible order. Coffee is mediocre, waitress can be a hit or miss. I have had good and bad experiences there.
