Golden Chen is a fantastic little dine in/carry out Chinese restaurant in Eastgate Crossing. The Eastgate area was in need of a good casual Chinese restaurant and Golden Chen delivered. The menu is typical, but the flavor and quality of the food is not! We ordered Hunan Beef, Hunan Chicken, Pineapple Chicken, Fried Wontons, and Wonton Soup. The beef and chicken was tender and cooked perfectly, with the right amount of sauce and spice. The vegetables and pineapple was fresh, hot, and crisp. The fried rice was done to perfection and actually tasted fried. The white rice was fragrant and also cooked perfectly. The Fried Wontons and Wonton Soup were delicious. The restaurant is clean, and the young lady that served us was nice and polite. The portion size is typical for the price. At the time of this review, Golden Chen does not offer a buffet or delivery. The next time youre in the Eastgate area and have a taste for Chinese food, check out Golden Chen. Youll be glad you did.

Just by walking in, you know what to expect as far as the menu goes. They have your typical casual fair, at a good price. What surprised me was that the quality of the Kung Po chicken was better than what you normally get. The chicken itself tasted and looked like the real deal unlike the spongy chicken most of these places have. That along with the sauce made this place better than the average strip mall Chinese restaurant. The veggie fried rice and egg roll provided in the lunch combo, on the other hand, were just OK. Ill come back to try out their other offerings soon. Definitely recommended for lunch due to the fast service, and variety of menu items.

I desperately searched the Eastgate area for a good Chinese restaurant for a long time to no avail and then Golden Chen opened their doors in Eastgate Crossing. Their food is amazing !! Everything is cooked to perfection !! The food is so good that the day after I had it for the first time I went back the very next day and got some more !! The restaurant is very clean and the people who serve you are very nice ! They really aim to please and make your visit an enjoyable one. I very highly recommend this restaurant !! The next time youre in the mood for amazing Chinese food definitely check them out ! I will never eat Chinese food anywhere else ever again !!

My boyfriend and I thought a small restaurant like this was going to have food that tasted "cheap"... but we were quickly corrected! The vegetables taste very fresh, the food comes out hot and quickly, and the beef was well cooked. Not tasting like "plastic" like other places weve tried. The service very polite.This place is easy to miss, but well worth it! We like it alot.

I have had lunch here 3 times and was very pleased with my choices. I love that nothing is precooked and your order is made with all fresh high quality ingredients. Prices are very reasonable and service is good. I really like that their shrimp are large and never overcooked. Well worth my 40 minute drive.

Finally got to try this place. I enjoyed the Chicken Lo Mein and Crab Rangoon. Delirious! Our server was really excited about the szechuan fried wontons and gave us the sauce to try with our order. My husband loved it! Place was clean and tidy. Prices affordable. We will be back!

The food is alright, the soups suck so dont waste your time. They dont have many vegetable options so check menu before making the trip. Overall its just a Chinese food place that doesnt serve all the usual meals but still tastes okay.
