It was bad. It was not good. I had the salad bar. Do not recommend. I was both grossed out and disgusted at the same time. I think the dressing is homemade. You can have thousand island, ranch, Italian, or blue cheese. Dont waste time thinking about which to choose. They all taste the same. Bland. The cheese was dry. Ok, now on to the sausage. If you like cold, dry, bland sausage then this is the place for you. Dont worry though, because there is plenty of salt in the sauce to spice it up. The sauce tastes bad. Oh, and its gritty. I sat in a booth and the seat padding was so worn down that my butt cheeks straddled a support beam in the seat the whole time. It felt like I was riding a dead anorexic horse. Not comfortable. On the positive side, my coke tasted fine, and my husband enjoyed the sweet potato tots. I attached a picture of the art I created waiting for my husband to finish his tots.

Definitely NOT the best barbecue that Ive had. Drab interior, but hey, sometimes the best local places that dont look that great usually have the best food, NOT in this case. God awful cole slaw, do yourself a favor and skip it. The only thing I can take from this place and the reason Im giving three stars is that the spicy barbecue sauce was on point and the speedy and attentive service felt like my mom was serving the food to us. However, the speedy service is probably because theyre just reheating the meat and giving it to you. It was pretty dry when it got to our table and I had to drown it with their delicious spicy sauce. Hope this helps

This was my first time at a Peggy Sue BBQ and within the first 5 minutes of being here we were greeted with open arms. The whole staff and their manager Jim were very inviting and happy to take our orders. I got the "moist" brisket and pulled chicken meat sampler and not only was the food awesome but Jim, the manager, made sure to come over and speak to us. Once he found out that we werent from the area and we were first timers he disappeared to the kitchen and cant back with an assortment of meats for us to try. Completely for free! I didnt eat a single thing I didnt like. Ill definitely be back for the jalapeno cheddar sausage before I leave!

Ive been eating at Peggy Sues for about 20 years now. The food is awesome. The atmosphere is like going back in time to your grandmas house when your parents were kids. Some may think its cheesy, but I love it. Well, I really can only speak for the brisket because thats what I get EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Its the best! It sets the standard for all other briskets to be measured against. Get the onion rings as your side even though they dont list it as an option. And dont forget the fried pie. You can never go wrong with chocolate. Mmm... Im salivating now. And its super affordable. Smart move, being a block away from SMU.

This place is absolutely mouthwatering! This is how much I love coming here... I like to go alone and slowly enjoy my plate. Every time I go eat bbq with someone I always end up spilling sauce on myself because Im so busy talking instead of enjoying my ribs. I savor each and every moment. I order the 1/2 lb of spare ribs & 1/2 lb of baby back ribs plate and it comes with two sides, I get the squash casserole which is so darn good and also the mashed potatoes or the new potato salad which both are amazing. Peggy Sue BBQ is hands down the best bbq in Dallas. Go and try it, youll never want to go to another bbq place.

Best Baby back ribs ever. Serious meat candy!! They are perfectly smoked with a nice rub plus a small amount of sweet glaze on top, which makes for the perfect ribs. I dont even need to use sauce and Im a sauce man. Every bite is a blissful sweet and smoky tender fall off the bone (but not that gross boiled ribs fall off the bone) bite. Dont even bother getting anything else but the baby back ribs. Couple good sides too love the sweet potato tots and meal comes with Texas toast. Been here for years and always consistent ribs!

Traditionally one of the best BBQ spots in the Metroplex. The fried pies and spicy BBQ sauce are amazing. Service is great. They have, however, started cutting their brisket differently to appeal to the bearded millennials that think a fatty cut is the only proper way to slice a brisket. Peggy Sue was the only place that served a good, lean slice. Now it is hit and miss. Try the kielbasa sausage.

The food was great. Portions arent huge and it is a bit pricy for what you get, as to be expected for the area. The decor is a bit dated, which kinda gives it an authentic home style BBQ place. Only real issue I had was that it was not that busy and I had to track down the waitress to take our drink order. However, service improved during the course of the meal.

This has been my fave bbq in dallas and still is...for good reason. They oak smoke as my ancestors did and their cuts of meat are the best, as are their sides. Been going for 13 years. Had a recent slight glitch on an order and Heath, mgr. took great care of me! Thanks, Heath you really show what good customer support is all about.

Delicious. I had the brisket sliced, with the spicy BBQ sauce and squash and sweet vinegar coleslaw. Amazing. The missus had the pulled pork with the spinach and fried okra. Also delicious. Service was good. Only complaint was the meats were warm/cool when it came to the table. Still good. Just wasnt hot. Id still go back though.

I ordered take out here twice. The first time it was just okay. The second time the food was just horrendous. The chicken was dry, and the mashed potatoes and some sort of a burnt taste to them, the texas toast also had the strange burnt taste. It made me quite nauseous. I probably wont be going back.

Food was good, the bbq sauce was a little tangy. It was a little odd that they decided to sit us next to big family, I felt like we where in somebody elses house. What was even more peculiar was that all the white people were on one side, and all the ethnic people on the other.

The brisket is nice, good taste but not great. Now the baby back ribs are amazing, they practically feel off the bone. Now the French fries are good. But they have the best toast in their amazing. Their a bit pricey but if u dont mind this is the place. The sause is great

Despite the shabby interior, the food is pretty good. Not the best barbeque in town but worth it if youre in the area. Best food I had was the coleslaw. it was a bit on the vinegary side so be careful if you like it with more mayo.
