The Baby Back Shak BBQ was moderately good and customer service was poor. The counter/cashier staff attitude was terrible with no people skills, there was no courtesy or cordialness shown and the food is served in to go boxes that were virtually thrown to you when your order number was called. You could tell BBQ and the string beans specialty had been sitting under a heat lamp for sometime. The establishment was fairly clean and poorly lighted. The order wait line around lunch time was pretty long, I guest that’s the reason the tables were not cleaned for the next individuals to be seated. I wouldn’t dine in but takeout is probably alright. The BBQ is a good value.

Waou! What a nice place: nice and polite staff. However, this is not a service restaurant, but rather more a pick up order. The food is so damn good as a meat lover! I had the chance to taste their mashed potatoes, corn and beef BBQ. The sauce gives it a good flavor and the portion is ok. Price is ok around $20-$25 for a meal for 2.Atmosphere is decent, a pick up order might be best for those who dont find the decorations so fancy!Just need to review fountain drinks and the parking which is so little (maybe because its close to downtown). Why not have a display fridge with bottled drinks? Ill definitely be back!

iif your visiting dallas texes you must try baby back shack baked beans!! they are unbelievable!! I garantee once you had theses beans they gona make you slap your mama.if anybody know what they put in their memphis style baked beans or come close to it please let me know.I loved their tender ribs and vinigery bbq sauce, my friend enjoyed them too but prefered off the bone bbq ribs more, which is close bye,off bone ribs are not smoked and the sauce is more tomatoey vs vinigery, depends on your preference, but we both agreed nobody can touch baby back shack memphis style bake beans!!!

Ive been in Texas for 3 days, had Smokehouse/barbecue the last 3 nights for dinner. This one was by far the best. The most amazing flavors in their meat, before you put the sauce on - after the sauce its even better. Within the 20 minutes that I sat down to eat my food, they were four groups of people that had never eaten there. We were all talking and had the same exact thoughts! The beans with the best I ever had, the green beans the same - the best, the ribs top of the list highest quality, and the smoke sausage was about a nine. I will be back.

Ive had BBQ all over the country and I havent found anyone whose ribs, beans and slaw compare. The atmosphere is exactly what youd expect from a genuine rib joint.. i.e. it doesnt have much... the neighborhood is perfectly safe, never once in my 30 odd trips have i ever had a problem... and while the service may not be the friendliest, it is always efficient... never have to wait more than a couple of minutes...the drinks need improvement... but, as far as what i come for: ribs, slaw, beans... can not be beat... anywhere...

We got the following: Ribs Boudain Sausage Cornish Hen Beef (brisket, sliced) Corn and Shaks beans The Cornish Hen and Beef was tasteless. The brisket actually didnt taste fresh and the boudain sausage was so so. The only saving grace was the ribs which was decent though on the small side. Id only say the ribs are decent because Ive had worse ribs. The price is decent for what you get but I probably wouldnt go there again and would rather try my luck at another spot. The Shaks beans and corn was both pretty good.

Man, What a great deal. Rib plate with beans is all you need. No need to sauce. The ribs were perfect consistency, almost fall off the bone with a little teeth tug. What makes this place 5 Stars is not just in the fantastic service, the value or the high quality meat, but the Baby Back Shak has best beans I have ever had in my life. Perfect amount of spice with meat pieces. Fantastic!!

Absolutely awesome..we were in town for a competition and stumbled upon this spot.. and no regrets. Beans are superb and Ribs are just mouth watering. Mr Clarence. has something really special going on there.. and it will be our spot when returning to the Dallas area. Afterwords.. run next door to Full City Rooster for a cup of imported coffee.. Mr. Michael and his wife are awesome.

Even when the the food is great the main reason to not go back is rude staff and just making a show. I wont be coming back even though the restaurant has 4.4 in reviews my experience wasnt pleasant. And they might need some help with the exterior look idk it might just be me cuz Im from Vegas and Im used to the fancier looks

Found this place sporadically while I was in the neighborhood. The ribs are average at best. Cooked beef had no taste. Beans were really good. The other sides were not that good. My brother got this sausage thing made with rice inside which really had no flavor. The decor is lacking and the place had no A/C.

Got caught up in that neighborhood hungry and had to rely on my cell navigation to bail me out. The sausage link plate with mashed potatoes and beans was good. I played it safe and it payed off. Will mark this place as a to go. Hope theyre there to stay.

Wow! Loved the salad or should I say meat with a side of lettuce. I am not complaining though. It could feed 2 or 3 easily. Had the baked potato too. Loved it. The telephone service could be improved but other than that I loved it!

Get the Ribs. Get the Cole Slaw. Get the Shak Beans. Dont be Scared; it is on the edge of the "Hood," but Dallas Police Headquarters is nearby, so there is a never ending flow of uniformed police inside, partaking...

Whenever I am in Dallas for work I try my hardest to make it to the Baby Back Shak! The ribs are absolutely amazing! The sides - amazing as well! Get there early as the line builds quickly.

A great, vinegar-style BBQ joint (which is unique for Dallas). Go with a friend, get the five-meat Shaks platter. Delicious, and a great deal for BBQ ($20 to easily feed two)..

Had an excellent lunch and got chicken breasts, 2 slabs of ribs, 1 lb of chopped beef and a quart of beans to bring home and stock up the freezer. I love this place!

The ribs are AWESOME!! but someone has ODd on mustard, pickle relish and other seasonings when making the potato salad and the coleslaw. Still worth a return trip.

Good Barque that is fingers licking good, ribs were tender and the boudin was fantastic. They even have fresh squeezed lemonade, which was very refreshing opition!

Best bbq in DFW. Go early or late for lunch during weekdays to miss downtown workers. Wonderful smoky taste in all of the meats served. I am a loyal customer.

This place has some of the best Memphis style BBQ in the DFW... Hand down one of my faves. The Shaks Platter is the way to go... Especially for first timers!
