I needed to work late so I thought take-out Chinese was a great idea. Unfortunately, I chose Yens. My wife called in the order, and I planned to pick it up on the way home. I gave the restaurant 30 minutes to prepare it and drove over. After waiting 5 minutes in line to talk to the host/cashier, I gave my last name. She gave me no indication as to whether or not my order was ready. I figured its Friday night, the place is 1/3 full, maybe the cook is just slow. 15 minutes later, I again asked if my order was ready and was told that she didnt have an order under that name (first or last). Trying again, I annunciated as best as possible my wifes full name. Still nothing. Finally someone came out of the kitchen with my order and accused me of giving the wrong name. I get that names can be hard, but its horrible customer service to ignore me because you didnt understand the pronunciation. Its not that busy of a restaurant, so keeping track of orders shouldnt be that hard. I dont have much positive to say about the food, its comparable to the Chinese food from a mall food court. The interior of the place is dirty and worn. The location is convenient, but parking is awful. Ill be sticking with Wus Open Kitchen for my future take-out needs.

We LOVE Yens! Found them about five years ago when moved into the area and eat there (or take-out) at least a couple of times a month. They will omit MSG upon request also. Their Won Ton soup is outstanding and if I dont order the BBQ Pork, we have an upset house! Love the Garlic Chicken, their new Asparagus Combo and Broccoli with Hot Garlic Sauce. The Sweet and Sour Pork is awesome too - and like another reviewer said, love that it comes with the sauce on the side! The 3 Flavor Mongolian is also superb - very tasty and you taste all of the chicken, beef and shrimp flavors, with a kick. Vegetables are always cooked perfectly - a little crisp still, yet everything ordered in or out is always piping hot and definitely not overcooked or mushy. Oh, and as others have said - portions are HUGE and great for leftovers, which you will have! Also love the remodel they did a couple years ago - kept the same, but new booths and tables, with a fresh coat of paint. Oh, one last thing - love that ALL of the staff is Chinese and super efficient. :) Our only wish is they would offer brown rice vs. white as an option, but its not worth knocking off any stars! Any negative reviews have had to have been done by a jealous competitor for sure!

Ive eaten here plenty of times to know that they are a great local restaurant. I have ordered dining in and take out at all times of day and the service is always consistant. The portions are always large. The flavor is always good. The pricing is very competitive. They have a large diverse menu selection with American options if desired (but why do that when youre at a place like this...if you want American food go across the street to McDonalds and dont waste these peoples time.) I have seen them serve large groups shortly before closing without blinking an eye at the time and still providing quality service. The atmosphere is comfortable and there isnt the need to feel a suit and tie is warranted but I always dress respectively regardless as they are providing a great service and it is good to show respect. My orders always have yummy tea, they provide chopsticks to eat with, and the staff speaks bilingual Asian dialect if needed...all of which is way cool.

First, I want to acknowledge that the meal I had was very worthwhile and well prepared. Unfortunately, while paying for my meal a problem occurred. When I received my change back it was clear to me that the waitress had shortchanged me by $10.00. When I pointed it out to her she said I was wrong. Only upon my insistence did she open her till back up. I always fold my money in a very unique way. The ten that she said I had given her was perfectly flat in the till. The twenty on top in the till was folded exactly like the rest of my money in my pocket which I showed to her. I was offered no sorry or apology. A lesson learned by me. I will return to eat, but will be careful to avoid the magic act at the time of payment.

On a whim I Googled Chinese Food near our new home. Yens came up and I realized it is pretty close so I went to order take out. The menu is huge and has lots of variety making it pretty dang hard to just place my order to go. I spent 10 minutes looking over the menu. Tough decisions! We were really impressed with our orders. Very good food. Mandarin shrimp was bomb!! Sooo good! Veggie spring rolls were crispy and light on the outside and yummy veggies inside. The restaurant was busy with to go orders on the phone placing orders, coming in to pick up, and people waiting to place to go orders plus people dining in. I scored a favorite Chinese restaurant!

Some of the worst chinese Ive had. I usually eat elsewhere but I happened to want food before noon on a Saturday. Sadly I choose this place as they opened at 1130. I ordered a bowl of egg drop as I sat down. Not good, but edible. Got 3 meat schezwan. A basic dish that any Chinese place should have. The plate came out in about 30 seconds, always a good sign. What little sauce there was tasted like crap, meat was all nearly identical little pucks of floppy "stuff". A forest of vegetables to fill up the plate that were cooked alright but too much chives. Wonton puffs were alright. . I came here before of the 4.2 rating which is absolutely did not deserve.

We have been bringing our friends and family to this restaurant for more than 15 years. We have always enjoyed prompt service, fast delivery of food, and high quality. My personal favorite is Kung Pau Three Combo (spicy shrimp, chicken, beef and goodies), which is always tasty and loaded with different ingredients. At least once a week we get orders to go (takes ten minutes) and the food is always hot and flavorful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants good food and is not overly concerned about the decorations and location. Parking is angled on Main Street in Tigard and at busy times not easily available.

Ive been going here since it was Yans. (Personally, I think it was better when it was Yans.) The food is still pretty good however and they have the best fried shrimp in town albeit pretty greasy sometimes. My biggest complaint is the over use of cornstarch or some thickener. I do take out quite often and heaven forbid I have leftover egg foo young because the next day the gravy is just one solid, congealed mass that even the microwave cant melt. The people are friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the service is fast. Ita a good place to go if you want Chinese food thats not pretentious and youre hungry.
