Hands down the best Chinese Ive had in Eugene. We went because all the other Chinese places on 11th were closed. I have been avoiding it because the prices listed on the website were higher then anywhere else in town and Ive been to enough Chinese places in Eugene to be pretty disappointed in whats available (Im from NY so I can be a little picky). Here are the non-gastronomical highlights of the trip 1) prices are the same in store as on the website for takeout / delivery 2) they deliver which is CRAZY 3) they are open LATE (10:30). By the time I get a craving for Chinese most places are closed. 4) by the time we finished we had 2 full containers of soup leftover as well as 1/2 a container of tasty pork and Im fat so thats pretty freaking amazing. Although the prices are a little higher then other places in town, ordering 1 item is more than enough for 2 people or multiple meals (or both). Here are the gastronomical highlights of the trip: THE FOOD WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING. Seriously. We ordered 4 things and all of them were great. Spring rolls - they dont have crab puffs and I was pretty skeptical about spring-rolls because I dont really like fried things (exception - crab puffs & french fries). These had a really interesting inner texture, not terribly packed with veggies with a very crispy and not greasy outside layer; big flakes of pastry but not like a half-shell and not overcooked, nice and layered pastry. Hot&Sour Soup - very delicate sour flavor, good mix of additives (bamboo strips, that dark seaweed stuff and tofu) I usually use this dish to rank places and although it wasnt spectacular it was really good. It came after the rest of our food which was weird but I still had a full bowl (as did my husband) and we still had a full container left when we left. Sweet and Sour Pork - I like to order something familiar when I go to a new Chinese place and so this is what I got. The chicken pieces were just the right size, they were fried crispy, but not oily and the sauce was great! Giant pieces of green peppers, onions and chunks of pineapple and it wasnt overly sweet which was nice so I could teach each piece. LZ Combo-Pot - This had spare-ribs, meatballs, shrimp, tofu and meat. This is pretty much what we stuck to because it was sooo freaking good (which was incredible because everything was really good). It was a five-spice broth-type thing and its what we chose to try something new which we like to do whenever we go out usually without good results (Im looking at you Menudo) but this was great. First of all the meat was tender, the meatballs were complex and deep and great with the soup, the spare ribs were falling of the bone and the shrimp was perfectly done and tasted like freedom and the ocean (I never eat shrimp because I think its gross and rubbery which was NOT the case) Now all we need to do is try their take away. I can never get through to order at my old favorite and not going to lie their food was NOT good when you get take away, but I have really good feelings about LZ because their take away is the same price as it is for sit down, and it seems like the people who work in the kitchens get their stuff. ALSO Im pretty sure the waiters were wearing pajama pants (that or REALLY hip/fashionable pants but Im thinking pajamas), but the table-clothes are pretty freaking fancy so you should feel comfortable in jeans or work-place clothes.

Seemed like very authentic northern Chinese food. We ordered the Beef Noodle Soup and LZ Special Pot. The man serving us said he makes the noodles himself, which were delicious and chewy and served in a very flavorful and spicy broth. The LZ Special Pot had tons of stuff in it like quail eggs, tofu, some kind of Spam-like meat, chicken, cabbage, shrimp, and these weird fungi that Im not familiar with. The broth wasnt very flavorful, but the heartiness of the soup made me think of a something a Chinese person might eat in the middle of winter or if they were sick. It tasted healthy, hearty, and homemade.

Non-Americanised Chinese restaurant. Dishes are well seasoned, and many are spicy. Big menu (literally and figuratively) with typos - kinda funny. Family owned and operated. Staff doesnt speak English so it takes some trying to communicate, but B+ for effort. Having said that, dont bother going if youre the type to make substitutions and very special requests. Or if youre the type to settle for kung pao, general Tso, or sweet and sour chicken youll feel more comfortable at the other Chinese restaurants in town (ex. Panda Express).

Ordered our food online an hour and a half ago, now half an hour later than the stated time it should have been here. Called to see what was going on - turns out they ignore their telephone and there is no voice mail. This is our first time ordering online, incredibly disappointed and wont be doing it again. Driving there right now to see whats up. (edit - screw it, just went to Panda Express) This rating is for the service, not the food. Their food is indeed delicious, I just wish it would get here.

Over priced tiny portions of food! Paid a lot to still be hungry. The food it self was good, a little flavorless. Comparable to other Chinese, Vietnamese or Thai food in Eugene. There was MSG free and vegetarian options. However, they dont keep their online menu updated. And they dont have fried rice, which would be a nice option at a place like this... Over all I wont eat here again. I only gave it a try because it was open on a Sunday.

Awesome, high quality, fresh chinese food. The sauces seem like they are homemade and not the standard distributed crap. Strong spices. It was kind of weird that they were shut down for the summer, but I am glad that I gave them a try. Will be back regularly. The previous review, Ben, may have caught them while they were closed for the end of summer. They didnt put any update on the internet about that.

A little more English language in the work place but other than that ... Best food ever. Its made fresh and its served fast, not a long wait at all. We ordered the Brown Sauce Pork Ribs... Awesome! It had not just the pork ribs juicy and tender, but as well as potatoes , red orange and green bellpeppers, onions, and yummy delicious mushrooms . I look forward to trying another dish soon.

Thank you review friends for the recommendation of LZ Chinese Dish. Just finished a delish lunch. We had sweat n sour chicken and pork, chow mein, chicken n mushroom & spring rolls. Everything was hot, fresh, fast and tasty. Enough extra to bring home dinner and got another s&s pork to go. The place was clean & comfortable with excellent staff. Well be back.

Nice staff, solid Chinese food, interior way classier than you probably think. Its almost as good as Kung Fu Bistro, but its proximity (to the west side), affordability and the fact that its not always crammed give it lots of points. Looking forward to trying more dishes. Also, the place is apparently Lanzhou Restaurant now.

Had a wonderful lunch, on our first visit. My wife ordered chicken and snow peas and I had pork and mushrooms. Truly delightful, ample portions, served hot. Very clean enviroment, friendly service. Had a chance to glance at the rest of the menu. Just super looking forward to our next visit. (Prices were great!!)
