While one of the cheapest and most diverse buffets Ive seen in Eugene so far, the quality of food is a bit of a step down from other stores Ive visited in the same chain. While most of the food is fresh and kept in stock across all of the buffet counters, theres a distinct impression that theres no emphasis on presentation. Some meal items look like they were just shuffled out of a microwave (the mac and cheese for one), while others clearly taste like theyve been prepared by mass production and only recently opened and dished out into a serving pan (taco meat). But what it lacks in basic spices and the occasional questionable looks, it makes up for in diversity. Even if you come across one entree thats having a bad day, theres often two or three dishes that will make up for it; and a rather generous dessert bar to finish things off. The wait staff often seem a bit more like ghosts than severs; making their initial introduction and verifying your table receipt before vanishing to tend their job tasks. Empty plates are almost always cleared while youre away getting another helping, making it seem like buffet ninjas are busing the tables as they go unseen. The price is right, even if the food is sometimes a little off. You will leave full, just dont expect much ambiance or socializing with the servers while youre there.

Our family has been coming here since they first opened at Gateway Mall. Last night we had the most horrible experience and all agreed that we would not be coming back. There is little point in going over everything so Ill just give an overview. We all have our favorite items and dishes that we look forward to eating when we come for dinner. The seafood salad was runny and unseasoned with little to no seafood like substance to be found. The macaroni and cheese was not thoroughly cooked and tasted like grainy powdered cheese. The corn bread and stuffing must be from a new supplier and should be changed back to the original. The milk machine ran out of milk but by that time we decided to leave because our experience with the staff was that they really didnt care much. It has also gotten so expensive that there are plenty of other restaurants that are comparable in price but have much better food and service. This is sad!

Fast and Friendly service no complaints there. The food is always good especially the ham. If you dont like seeing people eat then eat at home. They charge extra for the drinks now since there has been several people before complaining that all they wanted was water and didnt want to pay for a drink. Eating at a Buffet is always a choice so if you dont like the buffet setting in the first place dont eat at one. The only complaint I have is sometimes the enclosed sitting area feels ten degrees hotter. Overall I feel that eating at a Hometown is close enough in price to a meal at McDonalds, BK, Wendys, Carls Jr., and all the other restaurants I have eaten at (where they dont have dessert included). :) So in the end I am willing to pay a couple of dollars extra to make everyone happy in my group than go to several different places and end up paying more (especially in gas).

Not well.. The lady filling the salad bar did not use gloves and leaned over into the food with her dirty clothes touching food...the yougurt machine squirted all over making a mess around and on my clothes and shoes very embarrassed. The water is very hard to find. The chairs are weak afraid I was going to break one.not good seating for wheel chairs cant go straight to the table had to eat sideways.very difficult seating always bumping i nto people even for skinny people and if any large person had to get through would be difficult.. And sitting next to the station sucks he took cover off and grossness slopped onto table he didnt even pay attention... So awfull experience and yes some very nice people ...hope your experience is better...

The service is always great. Price isnt too steep if you have a coupon. I have a few favorite foods that always choose first. The rolls are delicious as is the corn bread stuffing and the chicken & dumplings. However, since you decided to down size the desserts (my faves; lava cake & bread pudding)into those small ridiculous pans Ive become less enchanted with the restaurant . The selection is pretty awesome, only rarely do I find the food unsatisfactory. I will stress again! The dessert. Bring back the portioned sizes I dream about. I love sweets.

They really stepped their game up recently. Still not the highest quality place youll find, but its a buffet. Had lunch with my lady there the other day, it cost us $8 a piece plus $2.49 for drinks. Bottomless fountain drinks include coke products, icees, several teas, coffee, and chocolate milk. Decent food from a variety of culinary styles. Go and give it a try, Sunday breakfst is the best but lunch and dinner are alright too. Dessert is the best by far!

Horrible food, way over priced, and horrible service!!! Very disappointed! Spent $50 for whole family to eat nothing and even the ice cream tasted gross!! We went there for my daughters birthday because thats what she wanted and she was disappointed. Food was cold, dry, hard, and very bland! Will not return to this location! Every time I have gone to this location in the last year it has gotten worse every time!

The salad bar was fantastic. Everything was fresh and great choices. The rest of the food was horrible and a huge disappointment. The salads with mayo, that is all you could taste. I could not even swallow it. The mongollian grill looked great but it was way to salty. The desserts were no good either I could not even get the tast out of my mouth. I would NEVER recommend this resturant to anyone.

This is why Americans are fat slobs. The food is extremely low quality, the meat items are substandard, the only healthy item they have is on the salad bar, all the vegies are way over cooked and flavourless and 90% of the items they serve are loaded with carbohydrates. Places like this should come with a big fat warning label. Besides, Dave will make you better ribs then these guys any day!

THIS FAMILY FREQUENTS HTB ALL THE TIME. AT ONE TIME THEY HAD ON THE BREAKFAST MENU AN CORNED BEEF HASH ENTREE. THE BEST EVER. I DONT GO OVER FOR BREAKFAST NOW DUE TO THE LACK OF CORNED BEEF HASH. MY FAVORITE. LUNCH AND DINNER ARE FAR AND ABOVE ANYWHERE ELSE IN TOWN. I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DRINKS CHARGES. SO I JUST DRINK WATER. RUNKSTER SPINGFIELD OREGON.

I come here about every two to six weeks with friends, whenever I get good coupon deals. The people who work here are always kind and wonderful, the food is usually alright. The salads are by far the best. I keep getting less than sub par macaroni and cheese and desserts, however. Their steak is always super fatty. Otherwise, you get what you pay for.

The food is excellent, They do need a new Yogurt machine. Theirs breaks down too often, thats the only dessert my husband can have id the sugar free yogurt. All of the desserts are good; The salads need a little punching up. The crew is great, friendly and helpful. We are there at least once a week.
