I went to the Dat Donut on 82nd and Cottage Grove since its located in my community. The time was about 3:50pm on August 13. Unfortunately, the middle aged woman that waited on me had a terrible attitude from the moment I stepped to the counter. On top of that, she misheard me and made a mistake with my order and when I pointed that out, she began fussing and blaming me for the mistake in my order. Mind you, I said it pleasantly. If you work in customer service, be pleasant to the customer. It wasnt a complicated order, nor was I being difficult or unpleasant back. I think she needs to be trained or placed in another position away from people because its tiring dealing with unpleasant workers. It takes less energy to just be nice. Anyways, I went there because the donuts are always good, but I think Ill take my money elsewhere until the service gets better.

Donuts are a tradition in my office for any occasion warranting a treat. Im generally not a fan, and always skip out to avoid heartburn. Someone recently left boxes from Dat Donut in the breakroom to celebrate a promotion...and passing through, the smell was so intoxicating I could not resist a peek or a taste. I tried half of one, and went back for another half later in the day. Not too greasy, nor was the glaze too sweet! If you are passing through the Chatham area, I would certainly plan a stop.

So the jerk rib tips I ordered were good, but more hot than I was expecting. The service, however, is awful at this establishment. The people act as though you owe them something personally when youre the patron. Everyone seems to have a look of disgust of their faces. This is definitely not the type of service that I am used to. I will not be visiting this establishment again based upon the service alone!

I LOVE making the trip to this place for my sweets. I am born and raised on the south side of Chicago and this is definitely a staple! No question I am willing to bypass several Dunkins for these large, home made, buttery-soft delights. Dont buy these and let them sit around long, while they do keep a million times better/longer than store bought, itll cause you to miss out in that warm excitement ;-)

My favorite donut shop! The glazed donut is fresh with a perfect ratio of glaze to dough. The outside of the donut is hard and the inside is soft and tastes like heaven. Better than any donut that Ive had, going here is worth the drive and you will not regret it!

Very tasty donuts. But the variety sucks. Unless you come in the wee hours of the morning, your choices of donuts are greatly reduced. Why dont they simply make more throughout the day? Thats like having a shoe store but you only sell 3 types of shoes. Sad.

I have travel far and wide, I have tried just about every donut and coffee shop, however; none by far have ever come close to the five finger licking good as Dat Donuts. And the coffee is so smooth, you will want to order a large.

These are some of the best donuts in Chicago. While I thought that being so big they might not be as tasty, I was gladly mistaken. Theyre delicious, and absolutely worth the trip to the south side.

Im always up for a good fresh donut so a friend and I went to Da Donut and was amazed with the variety. My favorite is the lemon filled which I can eat all day. Donuts are fresh and hearty.

Just an all around great donut place. Its kind of in the middle of nowhere, but they make by far the best donuts Ive had in Chicago. Prices are really low and the donuts are huge!
