Grew up eating Pho and have been everywhere in Salem to find "the spot!" This is it for sure!! Modest, but clean atmosphere, very friendly staff, a great selection of appetizers that at are well made and perfectly priced, AND last but not least.. my number 13!! They offer several kinds of soup with a variety of meat and broth, but 13 is just thin cut flank and it is perfectly tender!! Most importantly, the broth!! It IS the best broth in town! Promise! Plenty of noodles, thin things of onion, some scallion, then of course a healthy portion of mung beans (sprouts), Thai basil, lime and jalapeno.. mmmmm! Custom your little bowl with whatever you prefer your ratio of plum sauce to sriratcha and smear on each perfectly constructed bite! Its so delicious and hits the spot every time! Since coming here, have not been back to any other restaurant for Pho.

Phở Sure! Kim Huongs is on our regular "circuit" for two reasons: great food at affordable prices and the more practical issue that it is close to my workplace. A bunch of us stopped in for lunch. I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup (Phở) with Rare and Well-Done Beef Slices, Brisket, Tendon and Tripe (Lunch Item #7). This is an excellent choice: the soup is flavorful and these cuts of meat give it a wonderful beefy flavor throughout. I always enjoy the varying tastes and textures of this dish, as you can add sprouts, jalapeno and/or fresh mint leaves to taste. Great on a cold day, and the service was pretty fast (and definitely friendly) considering the size of our party.

PROS: food was decent ( rare steak soup was 5 stars, the spring rolls were a 3 bc the shrimp was a little off and the peanut sauce was runny and lacking flavor, the curry tofu was a 4. Beer came in a frosty mug. Tea was great. CONS: Poor SERVICE. the waitress didnt write down our order and forgot the spring rolls. She never, ever came back to check-in. 30 minutes later & she was on the phone. Had to go to the counter for help. She actually seemed irritated.

Awesome food! I got the soft/crispy noodles with eggplant and tofu. The noodles come crispy, topped with vegetables, with delicious broth underneath. You can mix it up to soften the noodles or eat it crunchy (: The sauces/condiments they give you at the table are amazing. If you arent afraid of a little heat, try the chili paste! The service was quick, and they give you large portions for the price. Fantastic!

Good food, just seems to have become more like the rest of the establishments. Not having been there in a year, I expected the same portions and maybe that is what let me down. Smaller portions and ok food. I would send someone there who wants to eat someplace local, but for me, I would look elsewhere else for my next meal as this no longer seems to have the "wow" factor they did.

This place is very mediocre. The pho we ordered had little flavor other than the excess salt in the broth. Waitress didnt smile, and neither did our cashier. They both dumped the food on the table. Overall, the experience wasnt bad - it is a very low key restaurant - just not a place we would go to again.

I have to say that the food is fresh, and so good! I think I said how good it was like 6 times! The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is that some of the staff seems to be a bit on the grumpy side. But some of them were nice and polite. If you ever have the chance please go!

A hidden gem. Not fancy on the outside, but the food is good. Dont miss this place. UPDATE: Ate here a few weeks ago. There were ants in the water and the food was under cooked. I havent been able to make myself go back since.

Good Vietnamese food and good service. Had a bowl of Pho. It had great flavor and was the perfect complement to a freezing cold day! Most beef pho soups can be had for around $7.
