The reason I went here was the same as most Triple D with Guy. Took a friend and ordered the hash since I was just use to the stuff in a can and a short stack of pancakes, friend ordered biscuts and gravey and a side of hash browns and we each had coffee. The wateries checked and made sure that is what I wanted since it was a lot of food. We had the food in less than fifteen minutes and it was alot. Never had hash with small cubes of corned beef and chunks of potates and vegies. It was great not peppery or salty and covered the plate with a perfect egg on top. the pancakes were the size of a salad plate. My friends breakfast covered the plate too, you could only see the plate because of the way the homemade biscuts were stated there was so much gravey, they couldnt eat it all. We never had to flag down a wateries down, allways eager to answer questions about the place or about when Guy was there. Some people may say this place is spendy but the food is worth it and the interior you will never get bored looking at all of the kitchy stuff.Spent about the same for a casual dinner at mcminamens

First walking in the byways cafe doesnt look like it typical pearl fair. Decorated with somewhat tacky, though absolutely adding to its charm, vintage decorations of knick knacks representing that Classic American road trip across the highways. Whenever eating at a diner I try not to get my hopes up, but byways certainly goes beyond that. Their pancakes were too notch and they had a wide selection of scrambles. I have to say that I was quite pleased. The waiters and waitresses were all friendly and accommodating, and as an added bonus, if you want to go to the bathroom you get to make a trip right past the dishwasher and through the bustling kitchen! Maybe not worth a trip across the river, but if youre in the area than you cant go wrong.

Its rare that I write a review but this place deserves a lot more than that. Ive been here several times and never had a bad meal or service. Everyone that Ive brought with me felt the same. Im pretty sure everything is local and made to order. They make the best milk shakes! I feel as though Im walking into my grandmothers kitchen when I visit. I count my lucky stars if I get to sit at the bar, right next to the register. Thanks to the wonderful staff for making this place what it is! Cant wait for my next meal, just have to decide.. World famous biscuits, local grass fed burgers, incredible mike shakes, blue corn pancakes... The possibilities are endless and always delicious.

I come here on the weekends (usually Saturdays) because of the cook, a really hot lesbian. Aside from being a nice piece of eye candy, she knows her stuff. She cooks quickly and efficiently and my food is always hot and perfectly seasoned, not to mention totally hits the spot. Byways is a bit of a greasy spoon, definitely homey, kitchy, and you wont regret a visit. I love Megs hash, their amaretto French toast is Food Network famous, and their daily, freshly baked pastries are a must. Try the key lime pie when they have it. Make sure Amandas in the kitchen, and youll be taken care of. Oh Girl!

Bring a Bib. Once your fork hits this homestyle plate of grub, youll turn into an eating machine. That could have just been me, but its okay they dont judge. :) Seating is limited, so show up early if your palning on enjoying a great breakfast on a Saturday morning. They have tons of little things to keep your eyes busy. Kinda feels like your at grammys place back in the 50s. Although I only know that from TV shows!.. Anyway Good food, great atmosphere and fun just to chill by yourself or with a group of your pals.

We had the Biscuits n Gravy with 2 Eggs over easy and a half order of French Toast. $16 is well worth every penny. By far the best biscuits ever, gravy was great, and the eggs were cooked perfect. The French Toast was nice but I was wanting more amaretto. Service was quick and polite. Orders sat in the window while servers were chatting though. And my table was wobbly... Over all, good experience though. Ill be back for more!

They only serve breakfast. And what a breakfast. There were 6 of us and we had French toast (almond flavored & piled high), pancakes (huge & fluffy), biscuits & gravy (crunchy & delicious), and various omelets which were cooked well. $10 a plate is worth it. This is a diner with a lunch bar, booths, checkerboard floor and Americana all over the walls. The only thing missing is the salty waitresses, but nice folk work just as well.

This restaurant is the breakfast place to be. You can tell, because they always have a wait outside the joint. The food hits the spot after those long party nights or cram session... who are we kidding, theyre party nights! The inside is small and intimate and it reminds me of sitting in grandmas house with all the knick knacks. Definitely save room for the pastries!

Satisfy your belly and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. The servers are cheerful and friendly. Someone was even signing along to some of the songs. :) The food is delicious and servings sizes are large. They cook eggs perfectly. They make delicious biscuits and sausage gravy. Their french toast is huge and delicious. I will be back for more!

Breakfast, delicious. Lunch, just as scrumptious. And the breakfast menu is offered until 3PM, every day theyre open. So for all you folks who contribute to the Tuesday 10:30AM waiting line, while we each wonder how the other is paying for brunch ("Dont you have a job?"), this place is a great option, usually with no to little wait Mon-Thurs.

Two open seats at the bar at 10 am on a Saturday = score! Very friendly wait staff, delicious coffee, and beautiful (albeit intimidatingly large) amaretto French toast. Seriously we could have split it and been perfectly content. This is a place that feels very homey, like theyll recognize you next time you stop in. Highly recommend!

Go for the blue corn pancakes or a scramble; avoid the basic eggs as they are pretty bland and over easy eggs are often undercooked (more like sunny side up with runny whites). Diner like atmosphere with fun kitschy decorations to keep you eyes entertained. Service is ok. Its a bit on the small side, so be prepared for a wait.

The service was impeccable and the food was great as well. Menu selections are diverse and appetizing. Portions are healthy and you will not leave hungry. I believe all their omelettes are made with three eggs, joy! Mine came with potatoes and toast. Everything was great and from order to service was expected time.

Cool old-school diner right in the middle of the Pearl. May not be worth waiting in the huge lines for on the weekend, but if you go during the week or get there right when they open on Saturdays/Sundays (~7:30), youre likely to enjoy some great bacon and blue cornmeal pancakes and a bottomless cup of Stumptown Coffee.

The food here is pretty good. Most people order the blue corn pancakes, which have a fantastic texture, but can be a bit dry. The home made hazelnut butter is absolutely delicious though. The staff is friendly enough, but the service can be a bit slow. If youre going here on the weekend, get there early. Its busy!
