Golden Touch is classic diner food for those who enjoy breakfast in these sorts of environments. Being born and raised on the east coast, these types of joints are everywhere, but in Portland (and the Northwest in general) this is not the case. It is actually a relief in Portland, similar to Johnny Bs. Yes, I am plugging Johnny Bs here as well. Eat at either and I guarantee you will be pleased. I am well over the long waits and pretentious attitudes of the majority of PDX breakfast joints. You can keep them, especially considering what you pay at some of them for some vegan and veggie plates I can make at home for 2/3s of the price.

The restaurants design is very outdated, both interior and exterior, however the food and service is excellent. Add in the fact that the portions are generous and the prices fair, and you have one of my favorite breakfast restaurants in southwest Portland. They have the typical greasy spoon fare, with an expansive menu. I usually get the Chefs Special, the Swedish Pancakes being my personal favorite. The Onion Rings are also amazing. Additionally, the service here is quick and friendly. A great place to stop after a hard days work.

Fun diner, friendly staff. They always remember our faces and let us order off the senior menu (theres a great fried chicken meal with mashed-potatos and gravy, corn in a bowl of butter, complete with salad with peas on top). Its what you expect from a diner, delicious hangover food, lots of coffee, and a fun atmosphere. As far as patrons go, its a bit of an older crowd drawn in for the traditional diner atmosphere. Great people watching.

When you walk into to the Golden Touch, you walk through time. This place is the culmination of the best decades of diner culture. 70s & 80s decor will likely draw in anyone obsessed with vintage authenticity and all that jazz. But what really struck me about this place, is how unaware it is of itself. With top notch customer service and delicious fare, this restaurant just feels friendly. A local diner, a golden touch (i had to).

Horrible service. The lady server & manager there are very chatting and rude. Seemed like they treated all their customers as a big inconvenience. I dont know if these ladies just hate their job or having a bad day but you can tell they were taking it out on the customers. I felt bad for a family nearby that had a baby...you can tell the waitress was annoyed with them. Food was okay, place a bit grungy. Not wanting to come back.

The food was decent. The ants crawling on the table grossed me out. The CONSTANT bitching by the waitress and chef was off putting. Literally spent the whole time bad talking customers that were pulling into the parking lot and hoping they werent coming in. Seeing as how the place was slower than molasses in an Alaskan winter, you would think they would want the customers.

I just left this place. There were ants in my soda cup my water cup had lipstick on it. The waitress was very rude and displayed very poor attitude to me and my family. Then when I left with my family, one of the employees flipped us off through the window. This place is horrible. They didnt even try to save their customers. They were very hostile.

Weve been eating at the Golden Touch since we moved to Portland over 12 years ago. Its the perfect greasy spoon with all your favorite breakfast and lunch items. Its family owned and operated, and many of the waitresses have worked there for decades (!). I highly recommend the biscuits and sausage gravy, and the belgium waffle is to die for. Yum!

Breakfast January 2, 2017. Dont waste your time in this place. It smells bad, there is duct tape holding the booths together, the food is terrible and over priced. Coffee tasted like it was made with mop bucket water. Awful place! The other reviews on this page must be from people who are paid for good reviews.

My wife and I have been eating here since 2003. We love the old-school atmosphere, the food is tasty (breakfast is my favorite), the service is so quick and friendly, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Thanks for being a great neighborhood restaurant. Dr. Todd A. Gifford

How is it that someone serving me my food in a dinner can look down at me in such a condescending fashion? It is beyond my comprehension to understand how a dinner with waitresses who treats their clients with such open distaste and disdain has managed to stay in business.

Fantastic food and service: straightforward diner fare, classic greasy spoon with unpretentious and friendly service. My only gripe are the odd hours, sometimes they are bafflingly closed an hour or more early, or shut entirely on random business days.

Food took a little longer than expected but it was really good. I ordered the Polish pancakes with lemon and powdered sugar and it was delicious! One whole plate of food was enough to make you want to sleep right then and there.

This place is definitely in need of some work, but the breakfast was fine and the coffee was serviceable. I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here again, but if someone offered to pay for breakfast Id go without hesitation.

Great place. Being vegan I usually dont order off the menu. The chef does a fabulous job with my requests. Friendly staff. Large portions. Wonderful prices for this part of SW Portland.

Customer service was lovely. Food was delicious, it was really old school which was cool. It could use a good deep cleaning, but the food made up for it!

This is a neighborhood institution! I will missed it when the soulless developers tear it down to build another overpriced apartment building.
