common sense
Decent prices is demeaning to this carts actual prices, Id say they are decent along with being the cheapest restaurant within 100 miles. And the following opinion that they also serve some of the best food in the same distance doesnt hurt. You can get a 5 dollar special which is an entire food box of great indian food, it typically includes the most popular items and a few slices of naan. The only concern I have, is that it is a family cart, and that their is one member of the family that works their every so often and the food is watered down when they are working. But dont let that derail you from trying this place, it is still awesome!

Nice owner but definitely not authentic Indian food. My batata vada was not coated with chickpea batter but something weird. The sev puri was more like papdi chaat mixed with chole and other items that are not in sev puri. Couldnt eat these two. The vegan special was OK, edible. Probably the most "authentic" of the other items. The value for your money is good with the 6 course special. Dont try anything else. Also it seems they are North Indian so the sweet chutney is more tart than sweet and the green chutney has no spice whatsoever.

It should be stated this is a FOOD CART! But nevertheless, its a good one. A little off to itself with a few tables just outside, if youre not looking to take it back home, to work, or a nearby park. The vegetarian unch special is a steal for $6 with 3 main dishes, rice, tandoori bread, and a Dixie cup sized chai included (unless you want to up your cup to 16oz for an extra $1). A staple food cart for sure.

I give BOMBAY CHAAT HOUSE 5 starts. I would give them 100+ stars If I could. I have tried New Taste Of India and a Lot others. You guys are still the deal. They are the best Indian Food AROUND. Even google agrees with Bombay Chaat House. I have been coming to you for 8 years now. Harvey makes me laugh even today, had missed seeing him at the cart. You are the best food cart and we love you guys. :)

I eat here once a week, and it is hands down my favorite Indian food in Portland. The price is fabulous, the quality is spot on, and the food it always consistent. I enjoy talking to the owners, they are very nice people invested in our community. I appreciate Bombay Chaat Houses style. And yes I have had everything on the menu, literally everything. Happy Eating!

Anything ordered off the menu will be very tasty, big fan of the paneer dishes. Definitely go for the Garlic Naan. Edit: they have updated their lunch special to a uniform consistency where the different flavors compliment each other wonderfully. A true indian food cart that is constantly trying to improve, cant go wrong.

Came here to grab some curry after a less than stellar experience at Taste of India, and was pretty impressed. Some solid indian food at a honestly very cheap price, if you don’t mind eating from a food cart, and let’s be honest, this is Portland. You don’t mind. :D

Food is authentic. I know having been to India. Their curry sauce is nothing short of balance... between the front and back of palate. It is sweet and flavorful, not hot spicy you to taste the delicacy of it. You can add heat if you like, but you dont want to.

Definitely one of the better Indian food carts in Portland. I recommend getting their six meals for $6 special. And if youre a vegetarian dont worry, theyre accommodating can mix it up so you can eat it. The portions are pretty big too, making it a good deal.

Absolutely authentic and delicious! You can totally feel the love that goes into these dishes. Definitely operated by people who are passionate about food. Cooked to perfection and served with a sense of home, this is a great choice for a healthy mood lifter.

One of the best value meals in the country. A 6 course meal and Indian tea for $5. I went there super hungry and still couldnt finish it. You could feed 2 people with this. Not the best Indian food, but good Indian comfort food and you cant beat the price.

Ive been here so many times and it is always perfect. The food is really delicious, with good portions. Their 6 course meal for $6 is a very fair price for the food and I love getting to eat a variety of foods. Highly recommended!

Excellent customer service! A worker went out of his way to help me find a restroom. Top notch people with good hearts. Very tasty Indian food! Serving sizes are good and could probably serve two people. Ill be back :)

Well seasoned but somewhat watery Indian food. They give you plenty of naan and rice to soak it up. I will eat here again but there are many choices for Indian cart food that it is good to find the one for you.

I would say the 6 course meals was worth 6$. The Naan was good and fresh. Curries were good and tasty. However I would not agree with lot of other ppl on the free Chai. It was awful and tasteless.

So many delicious vegetarian options, but the best part was the extremely friendly owners. Chit-chatting with the husband, wife, and their little girl alone makes it worth it to come eat here.

This place used to be outstanding, but then its my understanding that it was sold. I went back a few times after that, but the quality was just not there anymore. Its been a few years though.

I could eat their $5 vegan lunch meal everyday (and it usually lasts two meals, its so much food). Nice lady and her sons run this place.
