Anyone whos accustomed to dining understands the ebb and flow of ordering food and receiving food. On the same side of that coin, anyone whos accustomed to working at a dining establishment understand ebb and flow of receiving an order for food and giving an order of food. And somewhere in between those two principles lies the subtle Balancing Act that cost me $9 for half a cup of coffee. For when they tell you to inform your server about any food allergies and your server, after being informed, ignores this and presents you with a meal consisting primarily of the food item you specifically asked not to be put on your plate. You have to take it as a subtle sign that your your Patron is either not welcome, or someone is experimenting with your patience. Either way. Pay your bill and walk away never to return

Hidden on A and 3rd St, this place is definitely easy to miss if you are just driving by. Definitely worth finding though for your quintessential diner. Menu is big and service is fast and they always have some great revolving specials on the board. Never had a bad experience or food here. They have 5 or 6 bagel sandwiches to pick from as well as numerous omelets. The strawberry waffles and BLT are awesome and the home fries are the best Ive had at any diner. Just be ready to wait a few minutes on weekends, especially for groups of 4 or more.

Basic diner in Southie with a great menu and very reasonable prices. Had the eggs, toast and coffee for under $5. Decor is a throwback to simpler times among the more modern updates to the neighborhood. Service was good but not fantastic. To be fair there was only one waitress for the entire place and it was half full at 6 am. Credit cards accepted with a minimum $10 order.

For breakfast, the bacon tasted like the home fries and the home fries tasted like the bacon, but neither really tasted like home fries or bacon. There was some other pungent, vinegar like flavor which cross contaminated the home fries and the bacon. The coffee was eh. The water definitely tasted like water. Wait staff was friendly.

Food was good but not great. I was really excited to have the turkey dinner that they are famous for. Apparently they dont serve it at 12 on saturday because its to busy. I dont know what time saturday is less busy seeing as they arent open late saturday.

I can see why its "famous" French toast. So delicious. I ordered the short stack with strawberries and couldnt finish that (though I tried!) The pricing is reasonable, the staff is friendly and the food is so tasty. What more do you need?

Ridiculous... How a place could refuse to deliver to somewhere less than 2 miles away from the restaurant is beyond me. Its almost like you were too lazy to see that it was a 5 min drive. If I wasnt stuck at work I would come pick it up.

Great food for cheap. Fries are always perfect. Never had a wrong order, which is more than I can say for most restaurants in Melrose. Chicken fingers are the best outside of Liberty Bell.
