I havent even been able to try the food. I called to make and order and asked about the platter that I couldnt read about online because the menu is not loading properly. The lady told me the menu was online and scoffed a bit and then said we have the chicken and. Lamb tandoori. I asked what the rest of the platter, going to find out if it comes with naan or rice so I can order separately if I need to and any sides. The lady put me on hold. As she did I could hear her laugh and I could barely make out the sound of eyes rolling , ha. I waited a while but even if she did come back to the phone I doubt I would want to trust that there wasnt some weirdness with my order since she thought so little of this confused customer that was attempting to order for the first time at a new place. Geese lady, why be so rude and condescending, I was just hungry and not able to read the poorly loading non-functional website.

I was so excited an Indian restaurant opened up on my street. Im giving 3 stars because the flavor of the food was good. I do wish they had white meat as an option though--all the chicken dishes are dark meat. Also, I wish they served their dishes with a salad or some type of vegetable. Or at least had an option to buy a salad to go with your meal. They gave me a huge bowl of rice and chicken, more than I could possibly eat but just wished there were options to make it a bit more balanced. The woman that took my order didnt smile at all and seemed put off by me beung there, not sure if she was just having a bad day or not but it didnt feel welcoming at all. However the chef and the younger lady that were there were very warm and friendly.

Wow! What a gem on Williams. My first time here and very pleasantly surprised. Dont let the new building and decor fool you, this is 100% authentic and traditional Indian fare. My partner and I each had the 11$ lunch special. Chicken Curry was moderately spiced and exploded with flavor. Saag paneer creamy and delightful. Both tasted fresh and with quality ingredients. Large portions. Check it out now before there are lines out the door.

The good - Staff are friendly and take away was ready promptly. They get 3 stars for service. Food was not good. Flavors were all way off from our expectations for dishes we order up and down the coast, and curries managed to be simultaneously bland and pungent. Naan tasted bizarre as well. Sad because this is closer to where we live than most other options but Id rather make the drive for better tastes.

They havent quite figured out things yet. No samosas, even though listed on menu. The main dish was good, but the rice was cold. The side salad came out of a bag. Over priced for what you get. If they could improve the side dishes they would get three stars. They just opened, so may be they will work out the kinks.

I tried this place right after it opened and it was just ok. It was a high price point for food that was pretty bland. And $2.50 for one small piece of naan. The staff was nice, the service quick, and the food was ok, just a little bland. I would try this place again now thats its a little more established.

Had lunch there again today, and the food was great as usual. Tried the Pakoras for the first time and they were sublime. Portion size is good, the food reminds me on Moms cooking in India, and the ingredients are all organic. Love this place, and its already become my top choice in Portland.

We got takeout from here one night. The service was fast however the butter chicken tasted off. And the sag paneer had an unappealing earthiness to it. It did not taste good nor authentic. Worse yet, the next day I had 3x movements and felt ill while this meal finally left my sacred body.

Its a nice place with good staff. But i think They should have photos of their meals on the menu to see how they are because for me it was difficult to decide since I do not understand the English very well. (Note that Im using google translator to write now)

Food was great and the staff were super nice. The only thing that was lacking was something to make the place stand out. Some kind of deal or something for them to be known for. If they get that figured out I think they will have nailed it.

As a Indian food novice, I cant compare against other Indian restaurants, but the food and shrub sodas were excellent! The atmosphere and serving staff were first rate. If I lived local I would be eating here weekly if not more often.

Food quality and portion size were good, flavor was just ok. A weekend buffet would make this place 4-5 stars. No wait staff so you bus your own table, which lowers the quality of the whole experience. Good chai.

Not extra special for the price. We have had much more flavorful Indian food elsewhere. The free chai tea is quite good (and, I guess, is really part of the price). It has a nice feel as well. Its OK.

Food sucks. I ate almost burnt chicken tandoor. They charged me more for four pieces of pakodas. Disgusting. I wont suggest this place if you are looking for proper Indian cuisine. I wasted my money.

Fantastic food! Extremely friendly staff. We had a big group and tried a whole variety of entrees. Their lamb was cooked perfectly and the curries and other kebabs were excellent.

Stopped by for a quick happy hour. Really enjoyed their mango lassi and drinking shrub. Happy hour menu was not huge, but the items we had were all good. Service was excellent.

Ordered from Caviar. The food was bland and boring. The naan bread was dry. The only thing that we had no issue with was the rice. Will not eat from this restaurant again.

The atmosphere is wonderful, the food and cocktails delicious. I got the naan bites, pakora, and saag paneer. Hands down my new favorite Indian place in Portland.

Ordered take out for lunch and it was ready quickly and tasted great. Had the chicken tikka and garlic naan, flavorful and not too spicy!

I ordered the lamb curry spicy and it came out as one of the best curries in Portland. The mixed drinks are also great!

No flavor... the naan was ok, but the saag and tikka were definitely devoid of spice or anything interesting. Avoid.

Over priced for not having a waiter. Also no spicy option. Only mild. Absurdity.
