I really enjoyed eating here. There were a lot of good things about it and only a couple not-so-good. The not-so-good first: the service was pretty slow and I have had better rice. Also the vegan choices are quite limited. The good: the food was completely worth waiting for other than the rice. The naan especially was excellent in quality and variety. My tikka masala was also very tasty and my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his lamb curry. The vegan choices might have been limited, but there were plenty of vegetarian and meat options. One note: the mild, medium and hot at this place refers to AMERICAN (not Indian) ideas of those levels of spiciness. I ordered medium on the tikka masala and it could have been spicier. Im always a little iffy on that when I first try an Indian place, so I just thought I would mention it and hopefully save someone else the initial confusion.

Our server was really nice but that is the only good thing I can say about my dining experience at Tandoor. We waited for half an hour while a dvd menu played on repeat. The ambiance sucks, it the place looks like a cafeteria. The bathroom door wouldnt shut and the tables are covered in slipperry plexiglass that swiveled about by the slightest movement. The food was not worth the wait at ALL. I forget what the dish I ordered was called but it looked like three turds floating in a vat of turkey come, and tasted worse. My BFs lamb marsala was completely lackluster and devoid of any spirituality. We dropped $30 and left hungry and unsatisfied.

I am from California and came to work at downtown Portland. When I ask around for good Indian food I was recommended by my office mate about this place and they were right, it is good delicious. Normally I have after math eating Indian food but not here. I like Kabob and curry at Santa Clara, CA, guys I can say this is as good as Kabob and Curry and people are friendly and they speak Tamil. I would recommend highly.

The lunch buffet that they put on is fairly cheap. I went with an Indian friend and he was of the opinion that the food was a bit lacking in the spices department. The service here is alright, although I think they only have one or two waiters, but it can be agonizing if your mouth is on fire and it takes a while to get someone to refill your water.

The buffet is very boring and almost tasteless. I cant speak for their non-buffet hours. Also, the staff didnt say a single word to me despite both serving me and processing my payment. I will not be returning. Check out Ghandis if you want some tasty Indian food. Its not buffet style, but youll get plenty to eat -- and for less dough!

Would have given them 0 Star ! Very unprofessional behavior exhibited, we were going back and forth on a catering order for weeks and canceled the order 1 day before event saying they are going out of town ! I had eaten their food was strictly OK but CHEAP quality !

Had the lunch buffet and the best part was the continuous loop of bollywood videos. Most of the buffet was bland. The nan was hard and dry. The best dish was the chicken curry.

Some of the best Indian food in Portland. Ramesh and his crew never disappoint, serving up great dishes every time. Service can sometimes be a slightly slow, but its worth it.

Delicious, buffet style Indian food in the middle of downtown Portland. Theres no reason to get Indian food from a cart when you can come here: they also offered to go.

Tandoor Indian Kitchen has very flavorful savory dishes. My favorite is the Chicken Biriyani and Chicken Tikka Masala. You just want to keep eating!

Not a big buffet fan but I really do like this place. Its a worthy lunch option but Ill pass on dinner. Ambiance is... minimalistic.

The food here was good enough to come back to. The hours open that are listed are wrong, they are not open Saturday.

Beware, not really a lunch buffet, they charge you per plate. Not much space in restaurant.
