Came here to grab a quick lunch during my visit to Canon beach. Was a but surprised at the price for some halibut tacos... $15 bucks i think, but figured it must be super delicious. Ordered it grilled with flour tortillas. As you can see by the picture, I did not get 3 taco tortillas, but rather 1 giant burrito tortilla... ok sure Ill bite, maybe they ran out of taco tortillas. Being that its a burrito tortilla, and they didnt wrap it like a filled out fat burrito, the tortilla rolled over twice, so I was getting a quadrouple layer of flour tortilla with every bite. They stuffed this burrito with cabbage and tomato... the cabbage was not seasoned nor mixed with some sort of vinaigrette, just straight cut cabbage. Needless to say it was like I was eating paper. The fish was also not grilled very well, theres no char at all. Overall the burrito was a failure as a burrito, and even more so as a taco. Not worth the money paid. Would not recommend. Would not ever return.

This was the most expensive ($70+) and worst fast food weve ever had. It came highly recommended by a local resident, so when we saw the high prices on the board, we thought it would be worth it. Wrong! For $14.00 (only because they took $2.00 off since I didnt want salad), I got 2 crab cakes that had absolutely no flavor at all, and they were sticky-mealy. I took a bite and decided to switch to my side of scallops. There were about 7 of them and they were greasy and sloppy, for $11.95 (again with $1.00 off for no fries), but somewhat flavorful. My hubbys grilled halibut dinner was okay, but not worth the $24.99 they charged!! Then, heres the clincher. For $10.00 each we got a "fresh" crab and shrimp boat that was also flavorless AND the shrimp was mushy and mealy. We didnt finish those either. We threw most of it away and ended up eating Tillamook jerky for dinner. (Which was awesome, by the way.)

Not impressed. Maybe we had a bad cook that evening (August 4th). The Halibut and Chips were $15.95 and worthy of no more than $7.95 in my opinion. The cook overfried the fish and they arrived at our table almost burnt. The fish was dry but thankfully there was vinegar and/or tarter sauce to cover that up depending on what you prefer. The clam chowder was, honestly, the worst Ive ever had. It was way too salty and watered down with what appeared to be skim milk. The potatoes were overcooked and mealy and shredded carrots were added that appeared to have been pre-bought at the local grocery store and thrown in. They claim its homemade but Ive tasted better out of a can. I will say though that their coleslaw was excellent. Juicy and with some crunch. Service was good, fast, and it was a busy place come 7:00 in the evening mid week. Get there before 6:30.

As it’s name suggests this is a restaurant and market. It reminds me of one of the very casual places you find in Pike Place Market, so expect to see lots of paper, plastic and styrofoam containers, nothing fancy like many of the sit down establishments on the main drag. It’s a place for families to come for quick no-fuss seafood. I had a bowl Clam Chowder, think I should have chosen the smaller size, it was way filling. Lots of potato and not as creamy as I would have liked, clams were a little chewy, but pretty tasty however. I had the fish and chips too. Now being a Brit, I would say I’m an officiano of this meal but it was just ok. Fish tasted very fresh which was a plus. I do think they need to work on a new recipe for the fries. My tip is if the weather cooperates, take your food to-go and find a nice beach spot with a view to the ocean.

I have been to Ecola Seafoods on several trips to Cannon Beach and will go back everytime I return there. The atmosphere is casual so if you are looking for an upscale restaurant with mood lighting pass on by. But if you are looking for really fesh seafood at a family run establishment look no further. You wont find fresher or higher quality seafood. Therefore dont expect prices like Captain Ds or Long John Silvers. The place is popular and gets overwhelmed at times, so yes, per some of the other reviews posted you will find some fries on the floors and salt sprinkles on the tables at times. Not a deternt to me considering the how good the seafood is at this place. Also, the food is cooked to order so dont expect fastfood drive-through delivery - be patient, it is worth the wait!

Ecola Seafoods has, what we think, is the very best clam chowder weve had at any restaurant, anywhere. Of course, this is a very subjective subject, but this is what we think. And, considering the number of customers at the restaurant every day, it must also be an excellent place for fish & chips. We also get fresh salmon there whenever we visit Cannon Beach. They seem to have the best selection of salmon, mainly because the owner catches the salmon himself. And his wife, behind the counter, is the nicest person in town. Always smiling. This is a great place for fresh fish and clam chowder.

I work at a fish n chips cart in Portland, OR and know a lot about fish and what it looks/tastes like after its cut and cooked. I was excited to compare my own food to other places. Ordered the halibut and they served me cod. It was flaky and wet when halibut is usually firm and flavorful. They denied it when I told them I thought they served me cod. If they were being honest it must have just been poor quality halibut. Im not the kind of person to write lengthy, bad reviews or complain about food, but because I work in the business this experience really made me angry.

Im a sucker for great clam chowder having grown up on the coast. Its just one of those things that if done right can transport me to my happy childhood. It needs to be thick and very creamy and of course have lots of high quality clams and some potato and veggies, but not too many. This place gets it down pat and I was very happy with my chowder. If they had it in a bread bowl then that wouldve been truly perfect. Cant speak for the other food there but everything looked really good so I assume it must be fine. Another good coast place to stop at when in town.

Ecola Seafood Restaurant in Cannon Beach OR - this place is kind of a dump, but you could tell the fish was fresh here; the service was quick and tables opened up about as quick as they filled up; the food was delicious; it cost a little more than most places, but the freshness of the seafood made it worth it; I didnt like having to use the restroom where everyone in the restaurant could hear you though, and it wasnt the cleanest

Google states this is open until 9 pm today. Was extremely disappointed to find the restaurant closed before 8 and I missed the chance to get a fresh crab on my honeymoon based on looking at the hours online. maybe we will make it tomorrow, but I am frustrated that the business didnt bother to keep their hours updated on the most searched website there is. Wouldve stopped by earlier to pick up food if I knew accurate hours.
