Beautiful inside and out. We showed up a bit late on a Sunday evening so it was quiet. Our waiter was a new waiter, but what he lacked in specific knowledge he made up for in service. We were surprised by the cost of the entrees; however, its not often we had dined in such a nice place. The food was very good! Excellent! My wife got the rib eye steak. It was a bit more rare than her personal tastes, but was delicious nonetheless. The side dish was something we had not tried before and had little potatoes, carrots, and cabbage in a creamy sauce. It was yummy! I ordered the special: salmon and wild rice. The plate was stunning. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the skin was crispy. The wild rice was delicious. We ended with dessert. The chocolate soufflé was ... so good Im having a hard time describing it. A friend of mine would have said it was sex in a pan... baking dish.

We had an amazing experience at the Shelburne Inn! We stayed at the Audubon Cottage which was a wonderful retreat from the hectic world of noise, schedules, and to-do lists! The beautiful craftsmanship of the cottage, the views of nature, the sounds of birdsong and wind through the tall grass, the scent of the water and of nature...it is a retreat for all the senses! We especially loved the outdoor soaking tub. It was great to be in the hot tub outside while it was gray, windy, and misty out! We ate at the pub and the restaurant. The food was exquisite as was the atmosphere at the Inn! It has an old world charm that stirs the soul! Time seemed to slow down and the Inn keeper and staff were friendly and genuine! A truly unforgettable experience!

Very poor service and food. We went there to enjoy a nice meal and were totally disappointed. We had entries coming out for some while others were hoping to get their salad or appetizer. There were some food items that were pretty good, but we left at least half our food for not wanting to eat it. I spent over 400 dollars for my group and had to apologize to them all for subjecting them to that experience, I was disappointed and felt I would have rather gotten burgers or pizza than that. A few years ago my wife and I dined there and were very impressed.....

Absolutely loved this old Victorian Inn My room had a balcony All the rooms were different The third floor rooms had sitting rooms along with queen size beds and a little twin size bed built into a cubby in the wall If no one rents one of the rooms they leave it open so you can look at them Also the food in the restaurant was excellent. Loved it

The food was excellent. Interesting place. We were the only people in the dining room on a Wednesday night at the end of January so got to chat with the waiter and the cook.

Excellent Cioppino and added a garden salad that was quite tastie. Slowish service is the only reason this isnt 5 stars.
