We visited The Grill and Skillet on a Monday, for lunch. When we arrived around 12:10, there were 4 other parties already seated. We sat down, and a moment later the waitress (unsure of her name as she did not introduce herself and wasnt wearing a name tag), a young, dark haired girl, brought us over one menu. She took our drink orders and told us shed be right back with another menu. About 5 minutes later, she brought us two glasses of water, and a second menu. I told her I thought we were ready to order food, but she walked away from the tablet before i could finish my sentence! A few moments later, about 12:20, we placed our order. My boyfriend ordered a chicken sandwich, I ordered a cheeseburger. We both asked for "the platter" (fries instead of potato chips for an extra $3.79!!). For the next 30 minutes, we waited. We wore our winter coats and hats inside because the windows were so drafty. We tried to ignore the black sludge that was splattered up the bottom 8" of all the walls and the legs of the booth seats. We observed the waitress again, walking away from customers who were mid-sentence. The ladies seated next to us waited 5 mins from the time their food was dropped off, til they had to call the waitress from across the room to bring them jelly. During this 30 minutes, never once did our waitress check in with us to ask if we needed anything, or to let us know how much longer for our food. She never even made eye contact, and in fact, at one point, she went the long way back to the kitchen just to avoid us. We tried to get her attention to ask for our food to go (as we were on lunch breaks and needed to get back), at one point, my boyfriend even went up and stood by the register, but the two staff members did not emerge. The breaking point was when the people who arrived at least 10 minutes after us got their food, and without even acknowledging us, the waitress returned to the back. Thats when at 12:50, we left. Imagine our surprise when the waitress followed us out to the parking lot! We explained that we didnt have any more time. She never apologized. Instead, she told us the chicken takes a long time and that she didnt know we were on a schedule. I waited tables for years, then managed restaurants. I understand some food takes longer than others to cook. The deal breaker for us was her complete lack of attention. A simple "it shouldnt be much longer folks, just waiting on your chicken" would have avoided the whole situation. We absolutely will not return to this slimy outdated, overpriced diner ever.

I have searched high and low for a buttery, fluffy, golden brown pancake in the state of Ohio. And today, I have found it! The omelet was prefect, my partners burger was tasty, and the service was impeccable. Good seating options for a local diner... I wonder how the housing market is on this side of town? ;-)

Good coffee. Good people. Good counter service. Thats how I judge a diner, first by the coffee then by the clientele and finally by the counter. Quick service for the breakfast special (pancake, hash browns, eggs, sausage and biscuit). Cash only and cozy. Cant wait to come back.

Very dirty place. Nats and fruit flies everywhere. Grease and grim was everywhere, when I went to the restroom and saw the kitchen I couldnt believe that I was eating there. This place should be closed down. This has to be by far the worst I have ever saw in my life.

My ALL time favorite "greasy spoon" in the Columbus area. They have wonderful service and food, and also free wifi! But if youre going to be a camper for the wifi, PLEASE tip accordingly for hogging a table, they have awesome turnover!

My husband and I first time trying this place, we was the first seated yet last to receive our food. The soda tasted like plastic and when my husband received his food it had mold on it. I do not recommend this place to no one.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. Dad and I got stuck in a bad rain storm near by and decided to wait out the worst of it. We got breakfast and it tasted great. Very greasy spoon, mom and pop type feel. Glad we stopped!
