We went to the Montgomery location on a Saturday about 12:30 thinking we would miss the breakfast crowd. The restaurant was packed, but we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated so things were looking up. We had to wait at least 15 minutes before our server ever came around to take our order. We waited forever for our food (like 45 minutes) - at first we didnt mind because we were sipping coffee and talking. Then we ran out of coffee and sat there for another 15 minutes before we could flag down our waitress to get a refill. Food finally comes and they messed up my order, waitress takes it away and it is another 10 minutes before I get what I ordered. Finish eating and are waiting for our check and coffee refills, again no sign of our waitress. Sit there waiting and waiting, finally get our check and then have to go stand in line to pay and wait ANOTHER 10 minutes just to pay our bill. Finally get up to the register to pay and I tell the lady ringing us up that we had bad service, and she says oh we get a lot of complaints about that waitress.....um, ok. I would have preferred her say, Im sorry, what can we do to make it right, etc. It sort of felt like a slap in the face. Overall the food was ok but nothing to write home about and the prices were steep ($9 for a waffle that doesnt come with any sides??). Save your money and go to Frischs!!! Usually Im a supporter of mom and pop places over chains, but you are making it too hard! YIKES!

Am I a food snob? Perhaps. I would rather lick my vomit at 3am than dine at chains like Applebees or McDonalds. Quickly, chic cincy hot spots like Beluga and Aqua proved tired, overrated. After all, while atmospherics are important, we are there to eat. After dismissing the rumours of Montgomerys little breakfast mecca, I was tasked with uncovering a yummy breakfast north of Cincinnati. OMG! The Original Pancake House wowed us with oven baked omelets... the baby you always imagined a burrito and quiche would produce after a drunken night of lovemaking. Upgrade your side of pancakes to buckwheat and you will leave guilt free and smiling. As for the service, it was the first time in years that I left around 30-40% tip. Our waitress balanced friendly/helpful/attentive. When we needed her, she seemed to appear. She served us without trying to be our best friend and make plans later (i.e. not overbearing). The crazy thing is you would never suspect from the food quality or general experience that this is, indeed, a franchise sprung out of Portland. Kudos.

The first time we ate here it was alright our server was kind of socially awkward and not very attentive...the second time I found 3 hairs in my pancakes, which was absolutely disgusting, they did take a portion of my meal off which was not the best they could have done but at least it was something. It took a while for us to try it again...however, when we did we got Lauren as our waitress...she was AMAZING! No matter how busy she was she never got behind on any of her tables. She was thoughtful and brought out the pancakes for our children first so they didnt have to wait! Today we ate there and the service was definitely lacking...the girls in the front cashing people out act like they have no idea what they are doing...I showed them the coupon from your website and she totally ignored it and charged me the regular amount...when I mentioned it she brushed it off and made a comment "oh. Just use it next time" - how rude! We definitely wont eat here unless Lauren is our server...she is the only saving grace to the 4 unpleasant visits we have had.

First time there. Horrible experience as a whole. I ordered pancakes, an omlet, toast and home fries. I only ever got the omlet and homefries. The omlets are ovbiously made in some kind of machine. They are round and look like a cow pattie (taste like it also). The omlet didnt even have the ingredients I ordered. The home fries were OK. Cant speak for the pancakes becaue I never got them. Although, I did pay for them. It took forever to get food and the lady at the front desk ovbiously was not too thrilled about her cashier job and was not in a hurry to do anything and didnt even talk loud enough for anyone to hear her (im 21 years old my hearing is great). The place was packed for some unknown reason... It was definatly not because of their omlets that arent even yellow... they are brown and literally are big and round and look like a cow pattie. I thought it was my pancakes at first. Horrible experience overall, I wouldnt recommend it to someone I did not like.

I agree with a few of the other revies--this place used to be great but it has really gone downhill. The best thing about this place is their actual selection of pancakes, That said, the actual pancake quality is only fair--maybe a step up from IHOP. Also, think before you go on a weekend--the lines are long and the way they take your name down is rather stupid--they make you wait in line (instead of going up to the host/hostess like every other normal restaurant) and then they put you on the list when the host feels like coming down the line--they wont take into consideration that youve been waiting to see a hostess and youll end up at the bottom of the list, even though there is no sign telling you to wait in line and someone will come to you! Also, just to be further annoying, when you finally do get seated, youll see a bunch of empty tables...!

Coming here has become our favorite way to treat ourselves when we are in this area. The pancake syrup is made in house and is amazing!! EDIT: The last time we went back I got the Maryland Crabcake Benedict. I am from Maryland. My sweetheart is from Maryland. Those are NOT Maryland Crabcakes! Not even close. This is the one thing that I have gotten here that disappointed. It was a manufactured crabcake made mostly of breaded filler with some artificial crab meat in it. Note to owners: Feel free to continue to call that a Crabcake Benedict, but you are setting folks up for disappointment by wrongly placing the "Maryland" in front of it!

Exactly what I wanted out of a cheap brunch spot! The hostess was really rude didnt even look at us as she sat us. However, our waitress was fantastic! All smiles, fast, no mistakes, and just all around friendly. My boyfriend and I both ordered pigs in a blanket... soooo good and the perfect portion to not make you totally hate yourself when youre done! We also got a side of potatoes. This "side" is huge. More like a shareable dish! The vibe is old school and casual for family. Not like a trendy, upscale kind of place. So, no mimosas or anything like that.

The waitress was nice and the fresh squeezed OJ was good..... but the food was very disappointing. The omlettes were dry to the point we couldnt even eat them and the pancakes were undercooked. Though we barely touched our food (and I was dining with some very unpicky eaters) we were told we were still going to have to be charged for everything. We maybe would have considered going back to try again, but the lack of concern for our satisfaction as customers will have us choosing somewhere else for our next family breakfast.
