This past summer me and my family were trying to decide where to go for a good breakfast in Fargo. After reading many good reviews on Google, we decided to go to The Shack. Driving up to the place it looked busy, as any good restaurant might look. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, I was able to get a clear shot of the kitchen. To put it plainly my first impression was not good. The kitchen appeared messy, unclean, and defiantly not something you would expect people to be rating five stars. I shook this off as I sat down to my table and ordered the French toast. My impression of this place sunk even more as I sat at my table. There were flies everywhere, the carpet looked very dirty and unclean, and the decor was very outdated. It didnt surprise me that I would be disappointed when I received my "French toast". My meal was literally a piece of toasted bread on a plate. My mom was also disappointed with her "eggs benedict" as her hollandaise sauce was very discolored and looked as though it was straight out of a can. I do not mean to be so harsh on this place, the service was very nice and friendly, but a lot of things need to change. It is safe to say I probably wont be spending my money at The Shack again.

Great food and great service for our one and only meal in North Dakota. Jody took great care of us, even sharing that the local visitor center has a "Save the Best for Last" club for folks making North Dakota their 50th state visited (which was the case for me on this trip). She also recommended the caramel rolls, which were so good we took one for the road. An all-around great experience!

I love the Shack. We get treated like gold here, even with our twin 18 mo olds! The food cant be beat and neither can the atmosphere of happy people. I get excited to take family from out of town here, so they can see what a beautiful and friendly place North Fargo is. Did I mention the food is GREAT?!?

The food is always great here (chicken pot pie soup, is the best!) Service is very nice and fast! We stop here every time were in Fargo! My husband goes to the VA, so its very handy! In fact someone there sant us here!

Stopped in on our way to see family. Very tasty. Get the all meat omlete. Dont worry it comes with cheese even though the menu doesnt state it. The wife loved the hot chocolate and the pancakes were delicous.

Stopped in on Mothers Day which clearly is one of their busiest days and the staff was very friendly. The wait time for our table of 7 was very reasonable. The food is home style American fare and good.
