I actually work for the same owner of that place, but at Tengu in southport.. I go quite often with my boyfriend and I enjoy it. For those of you that are complaining, you get what you pay for, buffet of sushi.. of course its not going to be five star sushi, but its not bad, like I said, I visit quite often. I joke about being regulars. The hibachi beside the sushi bar however, is not that great, the steaks sit out, you literally pick what you want on your plate with tongs, and its sitting out raw... so thats a no for me. The other buffet food its pretty good actually. I like to stick to the sushi although the sushi chef stares at you like hes waiting for a huge tip.. all in all, Tom did a great job with the place its huge and it has really nice decor, the food isnt all that bad, except for the fix it yourself station with the raw food. The desserts are actually pretty good. The wait staff isnt all that great, the take my plates, but its almost impossible to get a refill some times, and the hosts are TERRIBLE.... every time I go in they are so rude, they will literally sit there and have conversations with the wait staff or another host and ignore until they feel like acknowledging you. Id say if youre really picky, and impatient its probably not for you.. but at least give it a shot.. everyone has their own experience. And to the lady that was so "disgusted" about the bug problem.. youre ridiculous... a bug is not worth tears and that much complaint. Its a food industry, its nearly impossible to keep every single bug out. I know, Ive had people spray down the restaurants with bug repellent and still have a bug here and there. I know youve found a bug in your home before so you cant freak out and make a scene calling the cops because you saw one bug...if you dont like it.. dont go out to eat... that simple.

My family is not from the area, but was in Wilmington shopping and sight seeing and decided to dine here after our day ended. It was HORRIBLE, DIRTY, and DISGUSTING! The food here was definitely not worth the price especially for all complaints we had! Mind you all we had a party of 10!!!! The food on the buffets had been out for God knows how long! Food was all over the countertops of the buffets, even the grill section was filthy. There was no one out wiping down or cleaning up NOTHING other than the waitresses who were waiting on customers. There was no fresh food brought out the entire 35/40 minutes we were there, this explains why the food looked old once we got to take a look at the buffet. The sushi sucked too, I never seen sushi looked the way most of there sushi looked the taste explained it all!! YUCK!!! Lastly, my daughter grabbed a plate that was supposedly clean off the stack of plates and there was residuals of fried rice all over it! I mean at this point I was beyond livid and cleary my dissatisfaction was of no one concern of the restaurant. I really wished we had read the reviews of this restaurant prior because we would have never patronized here! So to spare the next person the same mishap if you are reading this... RUN FROM THIS PLACE!! This place deserves zero stars! NASTY!!

I would like to notify you about a local Chinese restaurant in Wilmington that needs to be somehow informed to our community. I went to Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet this evening to eat dinner with my two daughters. About halfway through our meal, I heard a motor running in the kitchen. I got up to use the restroom and a waiter came out. As she came out, behind her were two men pressure washing the kitchen floor. Now while they were pressure washing, the cooks were also cooking food right near them. I immediately notified my waitress, who seemed to have no idea what I meant. she told her manager who we later were told to talk to. We told the manager what was happening, the manager told me that it takes 3 hrs to clean the floors. I said what about the debris flying on the food or the gas fumes from the exhaust on the motor. the only response I got was "we use gas stoves"... me myself should just park my car in the kitchen cook dinner and pressure wash my car. I was very shocked with my experience with this restaurant after being there numerous times.

Ask me a few months ago to review this place, it would have been 5/5 easy. The quality of hiros without the price, hands down a must experience. However recently (around a month or so) the quality has dipped hard. A prevalent issue is always the water, it tastes like there are chemicals mixing into it. The water has to be avoided just for standards of quality and to avoid feeling sick. The food quality has also dipped, im finding more and more pieces of gristle and fat in my food than ever before. The slices of chicken and steak are not up to the standards they set over the last few years. The portion sizes have not suffered however, and more often than not youll have a to go box. Staff are fine, nothing exceptional but entirely fine. Sauces are still great, cleanliness is average, usually a lot of flies in the restaurant is something that bothers me as well. Overall good, but not where it used to be. I hope to see it back at its rightful place as my favorite choice in restaurant.

Against our better judgement my wife and I decided to try this place out and man was that a bad decision. From the unaccompanied children basically playing in the food to my wife being horribly sick today I can say that the other bad reviews are spot on. The food was scary, the wait staff was incompetent and the cleanliness was well below acceptable. The floor around the buffet area was so greasy I felt as if I was ice skating on it. We were eager to pay just to get the hell out of this place. As for the Hibachi Grill section it was a joke and I honestly cant see how they can call themselves a Hibachi Grill. Upon leaving the place my wife and I felt dirty to the extent we came home and showered. My wife has been sick since visiting here. Needless to say we will never go back and we highly discourage anyone else from dining here. They should have a sign that says Enter at your own risk on the front door!

I stuff my face here quite often. 1st, the wait staff is always on-point. Whether I drink two sodas, or 22, it is always refilled quickly, like a ball boy @ Wimbledon. Second, the buffet is huge. If you cant find something you love to gorge on, you are wayyy too picky! Finally, for an Asian buffet, the sushi is quite delicious. I have had far worse sushi at specialty restaurants. I give it 4 stars, only because on off hours it tends to be less fresh, and because the place does get rather greasy when very busy. BUT, as far as Chinese buffets in Wilmington, this is hands-down the only one worth a try. Dont expect killer desserts. Save your room for the delicious entrees and succulent sushi!!! People complaining about "kids running loose" have the kids parents to blame - NOT Hibachi. If you hate kids, go during the week, mid-day, stupid.
