I wanted to like this place. I enjoyed it when it was Sumo Express back in college, but hey that was years ago and I was in college. I dont know if the management is different or if it just happens to be a very similar hibachi restaurant in the same location. I ordered the teryaki chicken that was dry and the vegetables were soggy. My wife ordered steak and shrimp. I cant comment on the taste, but she only got 7 shrimp and was disappointed. We ordered our food to go as I would not want to sit and eat in this restaurant. The menus, counter tops and tables were sticky and the place generally seemed unclean. They also forgot part of our order and Im confident I heard a microwave being used. This was my second and final visit to this restaurant. Ill go somewhere else where the food is fresh and not microwaved.

When we pulled up to sakura, the owner was painting his own roof by hand. Badass to say the least. The pho that I ordered (chicken, number 17) had fully developed broth, which only grew in complexity as I added the vegetables and sauces. Adding all the available jalepeños and Sriracha can make the dish a bit spicy for those not ready. All in all, Id eat here again, not only for the food; but, because hes a small business owner in America Pro small-business, pro good-ass pho.

If you want Japanese food do not go here. The chicken teriyaki is dry and the sauce is strange. The fried rice is white rice with a couple of peas thrown in and the vegetable is diced carrots with what tastes like maple syrup. The shrimp tempura is mushy and the sauce again, is not palatable. Entrees are served with the carrots and fried rice sides. This is simply not Japanese fare and not worth the expediture.

I have been going here for a few years with my boyfriend and honestly this is one of our favorite restaurants. Also the friends and family weve recommended this place to hasnt complained once. The staff are nice and the owner is cool. Always finishing big orders in great time. Great portions and I love the white sauce and miso soup on the side. Gotta get the white sauce!

Food is over priced with poor customer service. The man preparing our food made us wait ten min before taking my order then the food tasted really bad got sick later that day from it.

Steak tasted old. After two bites I left the rest. Shrimp were frozen and tasteless. Nobody bothered to ask how the food was.
