The restaurant has nice atmosphere however the food was very disappointing. They served Kraft Mac and cheese that tastes like they diluted the little cheese packet that comes with it over 4 packs of noodles and added water instead of butter to it and they charge a $1.25 up charge for pit. The $12.50 pulled pork plater comes with a tiny 4 oz of flavorless pulled pork. I felt as if I had ordered a $3.99 kids meal. The baked beans were the best Ive ever had and we also had some fried mushrooms that werent bad. We ended up sending our food back and the manager was quite curtious and gave us a full refund for our uneaten meal and even removed the mushrooms from the bill which we did eat.

The service was not good, after hostess asked us why we were waiting (no one up front when we arrived so we sat in hostess area waiting to be seated) we placed our order, food arrived and we requested eating utensils, 10 mins later waitress arrives back at table saying that she had to roll some and that is why we had to wait 10 min after food arrived to get a fork. I informed waitress that I swipped forks that were rolled off a clean table......portions small....baked beans and sweet potatoes great!

The beef brisket was like eating jerky. The steamed vegetables were frozen in the middle. The babyback ribs were hard. Its like the meat is left under a warming light for too long. I told the waitress she might want to mention it to the cook, but she clearly didnt intend to. She offered to have the manager take it off the check..we said no..just inform the cook. We wont be going back there EVER!

Really good BBQ. Great service. Although, on a NC scale of BBQ, this was good, not great. Would definitely return, its just the bar is so high here. (we come from NJ so this southern BBQ is all amazing). Edit/Update:. considering our party of 4 were fighting over the bathroom the entire night after eating at Fat Buddies... Im knocking my review down

OMG! This was some of the best BBQ we have ever eaten. The chicken was fall off the bone tender and super moist. Sliced beef brisket so tender and juicy. Perfect sweat tea. Great service. If you are in western North Carolina, you should stop here and eat. Come hungry leave satisfied. The one down side is they do not serve banana pudding.

Average. Entres at our table were 1/2 rack of ribs, bbq, and brisket sandwich. Of those, the bbq was the best. All were ok, but not more than average (which did not go with most of the reviews given). The one outstanding part of the meal was the appetizer-an onion loaf-it was 5 star worthy.

Fat Buddies NEVER disappoints. I have to go every single time Im in Waynesville. The NASCAR theme is carried very well throughout the restaurant including the speedy service! Mary Rose always gives such great service, as well as Jessica! Great food and staff will always keep my patronage!

We stumbled onto this place while traveling, and I am glad we did. Our waitress recommended the ribs and pulled pork combo plate. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the pulled pork was nice and juicy. Only thing to avoid is the mac&cheese - it is just the stuff out of a box.

Ordered a sliced pork platter and was amazed at the tiny portion of four ounces! Usually everyplace I go I can make two sandwiches .. The meat really didnt have a good smoked flaver actually quite Bland..On the plus side your sauces were pretty good ,saving the sandwich ..

Really great BBQ at affordable prices. We love the sauces, pulled pork, and ribs. Brisket is a bit dry. For a side, the beans are our favorite. We come every year when visiting the area and order extra so we have leftovers for a few days. Staff here is always super friendly.

Waste of money, had the bbq turkey to go.... it was 2 pieces of turkey, fries and beans... 12$$.. and the turkey wasnt any good.... best part was the beans and it came in a ( shot glass ) portion.... good luck I wont waste my mo ey here again.....

Great food, but we are so impressed that the wonderful staff does not have pierced faces. It is such a pleasure to go in and not see those disgusting rings and pins stuck in the peoples faces.

My favorite BBQ joint in the area. There might be better, but if there is I havent found it yet. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive, and the place has an upbeat family feel

Despite the hype and NASCAR theme, the BBQ is not particularly good. Almost tasteless. Side dishes were mediocre. There are better BBQ places to choose from in Maggie Valley.

Visiting from out of town. Great Barbecue. Tried the ribs, pulled pork, smoked turkey, brisket, and smoked chicken. Tried most of the sides also. Everything was excellent.
