I must admit I was very much so on the fence when my now husband suggested we try City BBQ as our reception caterer after we had a falling out with our first pick. I was very concerned about many things but being a stressed out bride who was two months away and feeling like everything was about to collapse around me, I said sure. I dont think I have ever made a better decision. Randy in Columbus was amazing. He was able to calm me down, get a plan together, walk us through everything, and provided constant contact for anything I started to lose my mind about. He helped us build our menu and get all of our extras taken care of without batting an eye. When the day came, the food was the only thing I wasnt worried about. Everything was presented beautifully, the staff was amazing and really went above and beyond, the food was perfect, and everyone was happy. Randy even came around multiple times to make sure we had enough to eat. I mentioned I forgot to grab a corn bread and before I knew it, it had appeared on my plate. I cant thank the entire staff for all they did for us. And to top it all off, our guests were so impressed and full. Its been 3 weeks and Im still getting calls about how amazing the food was. Thank you City BBQ!

Went there last night at 9:40. They close at 10. Was worried we would be rushed out of there or something but the entire staff welcomed us with open arms and allowed us to sit down and eat even though they were in the process of closing. Everyone said hello to us and was in a very good mood. Not something you would expect at all from a food place trying to close in twenty minutes. The cashier was super friendly and personable and guided us through the entire menu. Her name was Tessa and her customer service was above and beyond anywhere Ive eaten lately. The food was a slice of heaven. And the portions are more than generous. I have not eaten here since I moved away from Toledo and was not aware there were any located in the Columbus area but eating here made me feel like I was back home again. A huge shout out to the friendly staff, a huge shout out to the cooks for making us the most bomb meal Ive had in weeks. And a special shout out to Tessa for making our dining experience a 10/10. Will be returning very often!!!!

Went looking for best BBQ in Colmbus and City was ranked 3rd behind RayRays and Smokehouse. We drove by RayRays and discovered it was a food truck. NOT! Smokehouse was a ghost town. We happened to drive around the back of the restaurant and didnt see any smoke or cooking going on. Went straight to City and were so happy we did. We are not locals, just in from (Cali) for sons volleyball tourn. Best BBQ in more than a year. Even better than 3 or 4 places we tried in Dallas for last summers tourn. Thanks to all at City. RJ Update..... Visited another location right near the Airport the following day prior to the return trip to CA. WOW! The 1st impression was not a fluke....even better that the day before... Best thing were the beans and corn pudding. Probably never visit Ohio again but Ill be dreaming about City until my last day...

This place is hopping but when Ive eaten there before feels totally greasy. Tables are grimy, everything felt dirty. BBQ is so so, just havent tried a decent BBQ joint in Columbus yet. Got food to-go the last time because I didnt want to eat there, plus its very noisy. Waited for two minutes at the to-go area, while worker stood there folding boxes staring at me.... no one else coming through. I finally said Im waiting on a to go order. She commented that she hadnt realized thats what I was waiting for. I feel like staff should acknowledge an individual standing and waiting at a to-go desk. Especially when a few feet apart facing each other, but she wanted to finish folding those darn boxes. Couldve asked me to hold a sec, at least acknowledge me. Its family oriented and kid friendly.

I went here for a Memorial Day because, after living in Columbus for nearly a year, I finally craved some BBQ! Haha! I was a little apprehensive because, being from the South, Ive rarely eaten BBQ from a chain restaurant, but upon walking in the door I KNEW Id made the right decision. They were extremely busy taking and dishing out orders and all of them looked tasty. Even though they were busy, they got me my carryout order fairly quickly and with a huge small on their faces. My pulled pork was tender and tasty to the point that I didnt even want to put their delicious BBQ sauce on it, and my sides of hush puppies and baked bean were equally delicious! I definitely recommend this place!

I recently moved to Columbus for graduate school. I grew up in North Carolina and my parents and I just loved good North Carolina BBQ, which is often re-created in the Midwest but pales in comparison to the real southern style BBQ. My parents and I absolutely LOVED City BBQ.... it truly is North Carolina Style BBQ and each time theyre in town visiting me, we eat there at least 2 or 3 times. The side dishes are just a delicious as the meats ... And its affordable so I can enjoy it when theyre not here, too! I would recommend it to everyone!

Food quality is fine but the counter is always a chaotic mess. Back of the house yelling at the front, front yelling back, and the customers reacting to this panic scene by yelling out their orders and adding to the confusion. At last visit an 8 top (not my party) on one check fills the entire ordering area. Instead of simply asking them to step aside or take their seats after ordering, the counter solicits those in line to lean forward and shout their orders.

I just want to say that the staff at the Henderson Rd. City Bbq are some of the best staff Ive ever encountered. Tessa is probably one of my favorite people there, shes a great person, and I enjoy talking with her when Im in for my order pick up. Ive never had a bad experience here, and I appreciate everything the staff does. Wonderful people. Wonderful location. Wonderful food. The staff is always smiling! Thank you and Ill be back for my Monday night pick ups!

Smokey flavored ... cooked to perfection, along with a staff dedicated to serving the customer. Always greeted with a friendly smile and willing to make sur e you have a great dining experience or a wonderful take out meal. The GM is always walking around to make sure the guests are truly satisfied. The BBQ itself is especially phenomenal at this store, and has never failed to deliver the real deal in BBQ. My favorite BBQ in all of OHIO.

Ive generally been pleased with the food, particularly the hush puppies at all locations. However, the ribs offered at the Clippers game on Tuesday nights are Amazingly Awful. Dry. Not based on one experience. I want local businesses to be the best. And City does very well, but the Clippers game offerings will ruin their reputation. Four star at restaurant locations, 1 star at Huntington Park.
