I was delighted when I found another ramen spot open in LIC. It was not easy to live without Asian comfort food, abundant in Manhattan. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table since it gets crowded on weekends and the spot is tight. Nevertheless, we got a corner table and able to park our stroller too. The menu is quite extensive, including non-ramen dishes like don and stir fry items. We stick to their ramen and had pork bun and a seaweed salad to start. The pork bun is alright mainly because the pork isnt tender and juicy enough. My miso ramen on the other hand was pretty good; the noodle is perfect and the broth is very rich and thick. I got a fair serving of BBQ pork with it, although it is not the best I have had. They are generous with other ingredients such as corn and bamboo shoots as well. Overall, it is a satisfactory meal with good quality ingredients. I do think they can make their bbq pork more tender, juicy and flavorful. I will still come back though since the price is fair.

First choice for Ramen in Astoria.* A single row of wooden tables against a backdrop of Sumi-e-esque posters echo a zen atmosphere, but the place is livelier with quiet conversation and the bustle of the kitchen opposite where you can watch heads bob and steam rise as your meal is prepared. Attentive service. Excellent ramen. For those who eat shellfish, the fried oyster appetiser is great as are the seaweed salads and edamame. The hot and spicey Kara Veggie Miso Ramen is top pick, with noodles, veg, broth and an egg. Dont worry, the tongue-numbing first taste cools to a warm tummy by the time youve finished your bowl. Seconds, anyone? *Seating is limited, best for parties of 1-2 or 3-4.

As a Japanese, many my friends and I recommend Tamashii Ramen. Tasty and inside of the restaurant is clean and tidy, staffs are friendly. If you like fish base light soup for ramen, this is so for you! The noodle has good thickness to much with the soup, easy to finish a bowl of ramen for even ladies.:) But if you would rather like deep pork (tonkotsu) base ramens, you might feel their tastes are too light. Their MISO ramen was a little bit deeper than Shoyu(original) one, but I think it wasnt tonkotsu soup. Their appetizers are also tasty! Prices are average in nyc. Not all of staffs are Japanese, but of course they dont rush you as long as you eat. Ill definitely come back.

Stepped in on a Sunday afternoon - place was pretty empty. I had the spicy miso ramen. The staff were attentive and even offered us a free appetizer, too bad we do not eat shrimp dumplings. I am allergic! Felt bad for rejecting their free food. The spicy miso was just miso ramen with some spicy red pepper sauce in the middle and I had to mix it in. The soup wasnt too thick, but it was still flavorful. The noodles werent that much different - the pork was okay. The best part of the ramen was definitely the soup. It was more than enough food for the price, no need for appetizer - or you will be too full!

Last night my BF and I went for a post workout meal. I have an unusual allergy to Ginger and as you might imagine, eating Japanese is challenging with such an allergy. The waitress was so diligent about ensuring that everything that I ordered was ginger free right down to the spice that was on the table. The food was really good. I had the shrimp bun and Chicken Katsu Don, BF had pork bun and some spicey Ramen. Delicious!

Ramen so good I burnt my tongue on it just to get more! Nice service with a great ramen bar atmosphere that you would come to expect. A nice selection of other dishes as well that i hope to try out if I come to visit again. But come for the ramen, stay for the ramen, live the ramen, get married to the ramen, grow old together and retire in this ramen shop. Yes its that good with a nice variety from their superb stock.

Astoria needed a ramen joint, and this one fills the bill very well. The menu is well-priced, and theres a lunch special thats worth ordering if youre not at the dayjob. Aside from the ramen, there are a reasonable number of other choices, like don buri & shumai. They also serve sake & beer. If you finish your noodles, theyre bring you more for your broth for about $2.

Friendly staff at this cozy ramen shop. The menu has many varieties to choose from and we havent been disappointed yet. On our last visit the waitress encouraged me to try Tsukemen, a style of noodle dish consisting of cold noodles with hot dipping sauce on the side. The noodles were excellent and I was very glad they helped me discover this flavorful dish.

Excellent local ramen shop in Astoria. I had their champion ramen, which is a spicy seafood ramen. As with most Japanese food, spicy is really pretty mild, but the flavor was authentic and delicious. The price is reasonable too. Its a longish, small, mom-and-pop type of place but totally worth the wait.

Really tasty ramen spot. Solid service and menu variety. I think the portion sizes and pricing are very fair. Unfortunately the restaurant is a bit cramped, and my girlfriend, ramen expert, says she has had better. I think it is very good and I will continue to go when I have ramen cravings.

Even though I didnt have the ramen, I had the chicken teriyaki and a bun that had a delicious sauce and shrimp tempura. It was really delicious and it wasnt a long wait. The chicken wasnt too spicy as I had requested and the place was very cozy! I will definitely be back:) Thank you Tamashii!!

Excellent ramen. Everything Ive had there is always full of complex flavor, and intensely wholesome. The food comes out very quickly and is always served with an enthusiastic smile. I love this spot. My only complaint is that the pricing is a bit high, especially the addons.

It was our first time at Tamashii Ramen. The food here was delicious. We had Shumai shrimp dumplings, pork buns (x2), Okonomiaki (Japanese style pancake). Main Entrees: Miso Ramen & Shoyu Ramen dinner for two. Service and food were great. Will definitely go back sometime

Good lunch menu with a variety of ramen selections. Conveniently located two blocks from the N and W trains Broadway station. Its a bit pricey but I went with a friend who has visited Japan and he said that the restaurant looks like the ramen noodle places there.

Cozy spot with some amazing food. They have posters around the room with pictures of some of the menu items -- this sounds a bit odd, but its works with the space and I liked it to see a few things that I wasnt familiar with by name.

Excellent food! Light but filling, very wholesome and satisfying with nutritious ingredients. Appropriate portions and good prices. My sister and I enjoyed this place, service was quick and friendly, and I would happily recommend.
