GF took me to kaya for my b-day. We waited to be seated at a table with a grill for 10 min when the place was damn near empty. While waiting near the door, the old waitress rudely asked us to move as she walked by even though there was more than enough space for her to get through the walkway. After being seated, we had to wait another 20 min for our order to be taken while another couple who came in after us got seated instantly and had their order taken. The mean old waitress never took our order or refilled our water, yet walked by our table many times while she did for the other tables near us. Hakium(?), the host who sat us, eventually took our order and gave us refills. As we grilled and ate our food, an older male employee (who Im assuming is the owner judging by his interactions with the other employees) came to our table and shoveled the rest of the uncooked meat on our grill. He even put it directly on top of some pieces that were ready to be removed. He then stood there and cooked the food. We would not have asked for a grill table if we wanted them to cook the meat. He eventually left, but not before turning off the grill leaving a grill full of still raw chicken. He did not do this with any of the other grill tables. We got rushed out and will NEVER eat here again. HORRIBLE SERVICE!

The decor is nice, the seating was fast. The positives end there. The service was ridiculously bad. They were focused on making everything easier for them instead of accommodating the guests. They refused to allow me to make simple changes to the order (I cant have noodles instead of rice?). The waiter resisted providing separate checks for over 5 minutes of arguing. The bathrooms should be condemned. These offenses are potentially forgivable... but no, the food sucked too. Chicken teriyaki... Its not a difficult dish. Overcooked, under seasoned, the sauce was non-existent, there was one tiny piece of broccoli. This on top of undercooked and cold rice (when I was refused noodles, despite the rice being served separately). Other people at the table got a bowl of beef to cook at the table. No sauce, no seasoning, just beef. At least it wasnt rotten I guess. Oh yea, and it was $15 (plus $7.50 for a 22 ounce beer) for the worst meal Ive ever had. This place is terrible.

Ive heard that this wasnt the best restaurants but Iv never personally experienced it so I just went. Food is okay. nor good or bad. But the service is TERRIBLE. I dont even think it should be called service....We waited for our check for more than thirty minutes. And I had to leave and could not wait anymore so went up and the waitress said the check she was holding right there was ours and shell be with us momentarily. So...it turned out that that wasnt our check and she didnt come to us for another ten minutes. My friends and I finally just went up all together and then they finally got the check for us. I honestly do not know what their problem was. Through out the dinner the service was terrible but this was the most annoying thing. And they overcharged me by adding their own tip. haha so make sure to check your transaction afterwards if you use a credit card, if you decide to go.

We come here a lot because my gf loves Korean food. I have to say the service here has been horrible lately. We came one time and the waitress walked away before we could even finish our order. I had to track her down and make her come back. She didnt even seem to be apologetic about it. And the rest of the time she was just plain slow and unfriendly to our table. The next time we went we had the same problem with the service, they were just slow and not that nice. I dont think we will be going back to give them another chance. I reccomend going to Scilla restaurant around the corner

We tried this place due to a deal on Groupon... and couldnt have been more pleasantly surprised! Having never heard of the place, we were slightly skeptical, but everything was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the pricing very appropriate for their service (even without the groupon). We got the Combo A (a variety of meats with soup and steamed egg), as well as the tempura, hibachi seafood, and kalamari. Everything came with a variety of sides and sauces. It was so delightful, we wished for bigger bellies. Bottom line, we will absolutely be back... with friends!

Before I came to Kaya, I read all the reviews and was a little intimidated by the "terrible, horrible. and awful" service that patrons before me had eluded to. However I was pleasantly surprised! The service was great! Everyone that came to our table was nice and lovely! The food was also superb!!! Truly delicious cuisine and lots of choices on the menu! I do not have one negative thing to say!! I drove in from out of town to meet friends, who suggested the place, and I can say it was WELL worth the 2 hour drive!

Wanted soup because it was cold so decided to give this place a try. We ordered the Kaya Korean Grill & Sushi, haejunguk and soondae plate. I was a fan both the soups, the soondae plate was okay. The Kaya Korean Grill & Sushi was overflowing with fall off the bone meat and the soup was so flavorful. The haejunguk was also good but I would prefer the Kaya Korean Grill & Sushi. The ladies working were very nice and attentive. Will definitely come back to try more of their other dishes.

Terrible, terrible service. Waited 10+ minutes just for the waiter to bring us water (it was only after we asked for it). The waiter had time to service other tables a couple times but couldnt even come give us water? After all that waiting we finally ordered 3 dishes, which one of them never came out. The waitress just asked told us that they still didnt start making it after we finished the food that actually came out and asked us if we wanted to cancel it in a rude and unfriendly way.

Kaya is under new management and you can taste the difference, especially when it comes to their sushi. The new owner also just happens to be the sushi chef! He was commonly seen behind the counter at the well known now closed Haiku. Where he created some of the tastiest sushi offerings and now hes making a go at his own place. The fish are extremely fresh and he continues to masterfully created tasty generous portions that will sure to please the discerning sushi connoisseur!

Been here before but this time we had to wait almost an hour for a bbq table, while i was holding a baby. And we asked for one but they gave our table to the couple behind us. they couldnt even manage a busy friday night properly. Customers by the door, tables not clean, people waiting on their check and when it was ready for a table, they skipped us! The hostess knew we was waiting for one! Never going back.

Friendly service, acceptable food, but hair in soup without any compensation or apology is unacceptable. Waitress just replaced soup. Unexpected crunchy stuff on top of rainbow roll didnt please our granddaughter. Fantastic five roll was good, so was seafood noodle dish. This should have been a better experience. The restaurant looks fun but i question the cleanliness of the kitchen and wont go back.
