I found this place on a whim. Sometimes, life grants those who take a chance a great reward. While looking for a jamaican joint that no longer exists i passed this place. Upon finding the Jamaican place was closed up i turned around and stopped in for lunch. At first i was unsure of where to park. Being from the dayton area, i was unfamiliar with the Area and didnt want the cops grabbing me for stopping right out front on main. Ran inside asked if it was cool, James said it was fine. I was super happy, because the smells coming from inside told me i wanted to be here. Got the car parked, got my buddy inside, ordered our food. I got the chicken wings, greens, Mac n chz and cornbread. My buddy got ribs, green beans, Mac n chz and corn bread. I can say without a doubt, the guys running this place are proud of their food. With good reason. They are also really cool. My first visit was Thursday. Im writing this early Sunday morning, after my second visit late Sat night. Got to try the brisket, brought another friend on our way to a concert. He told me he doubted the show would suck, but if it did, the brisket made it worth it. Anyways, Ive spent over 15 yrs cooking professionally. All my friends know i am a food snob. My family knows that i can out cook both my moms mom and my dads mom. Eat here! Other reviews say its in a bad part of town. I say who cares. These guys deserve your money. They care and do a Damn good job. I will be back as soon as i can. Hope to see you there.

Lets start with the good ,roast pork sandwich was excellent. Whats not to love about roast pork.I also had the grilled wings ,Mac n Cheese and potato salad and cornbread. First of my wings were served cold not like warm or warm ,but cold.Cold like they been sitting somewhere. Man n Cheese was just okay better than some but just okay.The potato salad blah,is the name Id use to describe it.The cornbread forget about it.Im a little picky because Im from the east coast so try it for yourself my taste are probably a lot different from what Ive come to see living here.The wings taste like they had been sitting somewhere for a day or so they did not taste fresh but maybe its because they use wing dings and not whole wings.Still did explain why they were not up to temperature. Food should be hot or cold not room temperature. My meal was 18.00 and I did not finish it except for the pull pork sandwich.

Easy to find, not in the greatest of areas but if you want good BBQ, you dont worry about it. Very friendly people at the location. Expected nothing less. Its BBQ. Ordered the rib dinner with baked beans, greens and Mac n cheese. Get the bad out of the way since Im an expert on beans. They had something weird going on with I be guess Cinnamon in them. Didnt work for me. On to the rest. Ribs were great, had the right amount of smoke, sweet sauce on them which was delicious, greens had some turkey meet in them, fabulous flavor. Could have ate a ton of them. Mac n cheese was good but not great, just missing a little something, like it had been sitting a little to long. You get the choice of bread or cornbread. Cornbread it is, was a really dense and heavy, just no flavor as a previous reviewer stated. With all that, Im sure Ill have to go back to try a few more things.

I ordered takeout the brisket dinner I got brisket, mac&cheese green beans and a very small order potato salad on the side. The meat was pretty good I like my brisket as a piece of meat not pulled apart so that’s why I am only giving my review 2 stars. The mac n cheese was mushy or too soft the green beans did not have any flavor they taste like they were from a can simmered down with banana peppers and the potato salad was pretty good which the owner told me they don’t make my guess it was store bought. You will get a large portion of the sides however, I was very disappointed with the flavor and taste. In my opinion the meat is their specialty if you are into the sides in my opinon completes the dinner you might be disappointed.

Easy to overlook, but worth a stop. Fast, reasonably priced, and tasty. What we tried: - Turkey Ribs - Brisket (shredded) - Mac & Cheese - Potato Salad The turkey ribs had a great smoky flavor to them and were quite good, especially with one of the two house sauces. The brisket was good, too, but the shredded version left me wanting some full slices not soaking in oil. The mac & cheeses was ok. The potato salad was disappointingly bland and not my favorite style. Sadly, they had no cornbread that day. The service was very friendly; the owner walked us through the menu and checked in on us frequently. Overall, dont expect the #1 bbq in the country, but its likely some of the best bbq in Columbus.

I have been to this restaurant a few times now and eachtime ive been the service has been excellent. The owner and his mother are very nice people. I have had their wings, ribs and even turkey ribs. For sides I have tried their mac and cheese, greens, potato salad. Their mac and cheese is better than most restaurants, their greens are ok as well, and the potato salad isnt homemade (which if you ask youd know its from a bowl). Their cornbreads made from scratch so its good along with their desert. Id definitely recommend this place and this is one smokehouse soul food restaurant I will continue to give business to.

This is the best BBQ in all of Columbus, Ohio. Go see my friend Keith and he will take great care of you. The service is 2nd to none with a complimentary sauce tasting prior to your order. The meat is served with no sauce, which is how it should be. If you have a chance, order the Turkey Ribs, one of the best dishes I have had in my entire life. The sides are large enough to share and also reasonably priced. You know its great smoked BBQ by smelling your fingers the next day after two showers, I still smell the smokeyness. I will be returning to this restaurant the next time I am in OHIO. What a great find!

This is my second visit. First time about six months ago food was awesome. Got a rib dinner and meat was perfect plenty of thick tasty BBQ sauce and sides were excellent. Went again this past weekend and rib tip dinner I got was very disappointing. Plenty of meat but sauce was watery and very bland. Sides were bland too, just no flavor. Had to doctor up with my own seasonings. If I lived closer I would insist on a refund of $14 cause I wouldnt take a credit on another meal but I live in reynoldsburg so the drives not worth it but it will be a long time before I go back, if I go back at all.

This might be one of THE best places Ive been to. I came during lunch since I work somewhat close by and Im so happy I did. Almost overwhelmingly delicious food along with great prices, great music, and great service from the owner. Chicken dinner (with homemade bbq) with baked beans and mac and cheese was absolutely incredible and a few others ordered it while I was there - it seems to be a hit. Food came out hot and fresh not 5 minutes after I ordered. Ill be back - Frequently!
