This is our new favorite local sushi place! Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant! Extremely friendly service and some of the most amazing sushi Ive ever eaten. The chef is so generous with the fish, sauce and toppings. We were in awe of how beautiful and how delicious the food was. I cannot believe this place has slipped by us for the 4 years weve lived here. And this small little "hole in the wall" restaurant was jumping! It seems to be well known among the locals. And to top it all off, the pricing is very fair and wont break the bank. Cant say enough nice things. Bring extra cash ... youll be leaving it in the chefs tip jar! :)

This review is only for the food because I would have given this place a 2 or 3 star review based on the interior design that was in desperate need for some renovations. Other than that the food was top notch!! Not only was the food reasonably priced, but my family and I left there completely satisfied/ full as well! Expect a little bit of a wait time to prepare the food, but you do get soup and salad and other appetizers that are all included with your dinner to hold you over. They even had organic chicken!!!

I heard Kohaku is owned by a Japanese guy whose brother owns Robata of Tokyo (another Japanese restaurant) in Plainview. Kohaku provides pretty yummy food with great price. Staff at Kohaku wears working kimono. Only downside I see is parking -- parking space in front of the restaurant is limited space and its not easy to get in and out of the parking lot. I hear there are some parking space behind the building but I dont know exactly where. I would go back to Kohaku. very nice restaurant!

Sushi can outstanding, never order take out. Too many lost orders to remember. Finally gave up on them. After waiting 30 minutes from order time (not unreasonable for good sushi) and driving over, got another blank stare followed, inevitably, by "What did you order?", a nervous conversation between chef and order taker, and yet another 40 minutes since my order was never placed. A bowl of edamame my only apology.

sushi chef is verygood he have samthing special sushi roll and appetizer kitchin dish .black cod misoyaki and yakishitake roll and mindyroll etc .. thay open 1987 .27 yeares sam owner .he come from tokyo japan . real japanese restaurant . you can find why so long do same place. price is not hight weitrees have kimono it defrent...go to kohaku why?

Kobe Japanese restaurant actually owned and run by the Japanese. The menu was Innovative and different with many original dishes. The service can be a little spotty and you have to assert yourself to get what you want but the restaurant as well worth a visit. The lunch specials are huge and very reasonably priced

The food is ok. The service is terrible. It took forever to place our order, and food came about 40 minutes later. My food came out 15 minutes before my girlfriends sushi came out. Definitely was not worth the wait. The sushi was mediocre and sloppy, spicy mayo is bad as well. Do not come here.

Love their food! Huge amount of delicious rolls, on and off the menu (they have more options posted in the restaurant), amazing lunch specials. Their Bento boxes are amazing, love that their lunches come with both a salad and soup. Restaurant is cozy and very inviting, love it here
