Wasn't impressed at all. We walked in around 9.00pm and asked what time do they close? Waitress replied 10 in a rude way, and I could see in her expression that they were unhappy to see us coming in late, c'mon an hour before closing??? We got an horrible unfriendly and rudest service. It made me realize that what did we do to deserve that treatment when we were spending money in their place, giving them business. The food was below par. A spicy yellow tail was $5.50 and $9 special roll barely had any fish. It was the tinest and worst looking roll made in a rush. The rock shrimp was soggy and noodles lacked seasoning, very bland. They rushed us and brought our apps and entree at the same time. We literally dined and payed our bill within 25 mins, they were moving the chair and sweeping and windexing the tables including the one close to us. So unprofessional! When you close at 10, don't you do that after you close. These people wanted to close early and be out before 10.... The entire staff including the chef seated in the table close to sushi bar and all started to eat employee dinner at 9.15, our waitress never came to our table to check everything was okay and never offered a dessert, instead came with our check and said " are u finished?" Why are these kind of people in service business who lack all the et'quette of service. We felt like they were doing us a favor and we owed them something. They should put the sign close at 9( no service walking in after 8.45pm.) employee leave at 10. Worst service and bad food, never going back. There are better sushi places few blocks away around the vicinity.

We go here pretty often since its the best Japanese in Fairfield (ok, not saying much). We are spoiled having lived in Asia and eaten the best sushi on the waterfront in Tokyo (not to mention the really good Japanese food available in NYC). But Fin has a real consistency problem. On some occasions, its been very good. But the other day we ordered bluefin toro, the item that is supposed to be the best (and usually most expensive) thing on any given sushi chefs menu. It had the texture of cooked tuna, and was rubbery and oily. I was offended that they thought they could pass this off on their customers. $6.95 per piece is not unusually expensive for bluefin toro, but its expensive enough that they should get it right -- every time. Otherwise take it off the specials list if it doesnt meet quality standards.

I got the spicy tuna and eel avocado roll and they were tiny. The filing was good but there was barely any rice on it. Since I was still hungry after that I ordered another signature roll which was at least double the price of the regular rolls expecting something more substantial. It tasted great but there were merely two extra pieces--not worth the extra $7!

Having lived in NYC, we are used to a wide variety of great sushi restaurants. It took us a while to find Fin Sushi in Fairfield, but now we dont go anywhere else. The decor is nothing to write home about, but what weve had is usually great. We stick to whatever the specials are on the menu for the day.

Very attentive service, sweet even. The California Roll avocado was creamy and excellent. The spicy shrimp and mango dim sum and the dynasty duck dim sum were fabulous. The buffalo chicken fried dim sum was also very good. The lychee martini and the Cosmo martini were first rate. Well be back!

the food rating is too low. this is a very good place with good prices, service, and attractive presentations. underrated. the place could use a little better decor but the food is very good.

Very good, but the place is a little small. Its fun to sit at the bar and watch sushi being prepared.
