When fresh raw broccoli has a fishy taste, thats not a good sign. And when your mother gets sick from eating rancid fish, thats an even WORSE sign. This place has gone DOWNHILL BIG-TIME in the last year or so. New owner? Possibly the culprit - but worse is that youd probably be better off eating dirt off the ground than eating what theyre feeding you. Something is seriously wrong with this place, I honestly cant figure out how they have the audacity to sell what theyre selling to unsuspecting diners who EAT it - and I DID start to notice less and less customers in there over the last year so - I guess were not the only people who got sick and/or disgusted by the place. To add insult to injury, my mom told the owner (by phone so customers wouldnt hear, out of respect to his business) that she became ill from their food (she had the symptoms that come to mind when you think of food poisoning! Beware!) - and 1) he laughed at her and said it couldnt possibly be from the raw fish. Ok then. and 2) he called her to tell her he was revoking the $60 gift card she was to be given for reaching over $1,000 spent/earned on her rewards card. NOT that the food was going to be safe to eat in the first place if she HAD ordered, but the owner is totally unprofessional and the food is making people sick, so if you go there, you are taking a risk of getting: CHILLS, SWEATS, DIARRRHEA, STOMACH PAIN and VOMITING. EAT THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK. You couldnt pay me to eat there again after the last experience combined with hearing from friends that they too had bad experiences. And if you DO decide to eat there despite the warnings, just make sure your Obamacare is in effect so your medical bills are covered.

Bad fish. We ate there several years and every year we saw a decline in the quality. My last visit was sending me to the bathroom for the sink and the toilet at the same time. I called the restaurant the next day. The manager, was aggressive and offensive, yelling at me for complaining. Because I dont want to eat there any longer, I came back 2 weeks later and requested to have my points redeemed since it reached over $1000. The manager refused, lied that I did not reach that number and said he is now putting it on Zero. Dont go there. There are many many good restaurants in Long Island with great sushi and good service.

Great service. The food had great presentation, fresh and delicious I enjoyed every bite.. Clean and nice place. I will recommend Koban Japanese Restaurant as the best Sushi Restaurant of Long Island

This last guy is crazy. Food is good, big portions, and sweet waitresses. Nothing too expensive and small intimate environment.
