This is a first! Never in my life have I ever been denied food at a restaurant. Im left totally shaking my head. My husband called to place an order for carry out and was told that they wouldnt take our order because they are too busy with parties and because tomorrow was Mothers Day. While I can appreciate them being busy, who turns down business? If they want to run a banquet hall then they should focus on that and forget the restaurant. I believe in being fair and giving second chances. But while the food is decent, the service and the way they run a business is poor on multiple occasions. Ive dined in on 2 occasions and the service was poor and extremely slow on both visits- first time waiting over an hour and a half for our dinner and over 2 hours the second visit. Cant blame the waitress, as we watched her run around trying to do her best with more tables that she can possibly handle. We have ordered carry out on a few occasions as well and each time had to wait at least an hour for the food, which was significantly longer than the time we were given for it to be ready. I seriously dont think they have enough kitchen staff to meet the needs of the restaurant. Weve given this place more than enough chances to redeem itself, but it just never did. We will be taking our business elsewhere from now on.

Just came back from an early Saturday dinner at 5pm. They were not ready to open. After waiting for them to set up a table we were put next to the exit/door. The entire night we had headlights from cars parking in our faces while we ate. The prices were high for a place that serves your drinks in bright red plastic coke "glasses". Our waitress was slow and rude when we asked her for more soda, bread, etc. The food is the worse Italian I have ever had. Their pasta fagioli was not even a soup. More like a left over paste from the night before. I ordered chicken francaise and it tasted like something frozen from last week. The chicken was dry and the lemon sauce horrible. I should have thought this place did not have standards. That was clear when I went to use the mens room as it was dirty. Someone call Kitchen Nightmares on this place!

horrible! My wife and I have been ordering from Jules for years because the food was good. the service and staff is horrible. first I ordered a dinner with shrimp for take out and got home to a chicken parm. I call them and instead of apologizing they told me that it was shrimp. I go in again to order and without even bringing up there mistake from last time i had the cook come out and try to tell me I was wrong when I even had a video of my food and the other cook admitted he made a mistake. so tonight I go back to order and walk in to an empty restaurant to order food and they tell me they cant make Alfredo because she didnt want to. there is multiply bad reviews on yelp and other sites and I now know why. they will be out of business if they continue to operate like this and I will never go there again.

I went to Jules South last weekend and I can not stop thinking about the lasagna. The sauce had this bright rich flavor; it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The lasagna was meatless but I didn’t miss it- this coming from a serious meat eater. It was thick and rich and that good kind of dense. Not too heavy just very substantial. The portions were big; I “had” to talk half of it home with me. They make fabulous dipping oil for the bread. I can’t wait to go back, the service was great, the place was clean and the atmosphere was nice. To tell the truth I’d eat that kind of food in a cave.

I went to Jules with 9 other people in our party this weekend. In my opinion, it was a great unexpected experience. Everything that touched my lips was awesomely delicious. The service was good except there was a time lag between finishing the appetizers and receiving our dinners, but that could have been from being a party of 10. The decor isnt anything special or fancy but the food was well worth going there and the staff was very friendly and engaging.

Great service, excellent food with plenty to take home after. Bread dipping in olive oil and spices was very good. Pasta was cooked al dante. Everything cooked fresh not sitting in a pot to reheat so it does take a little time to be served but bread & appetizers hold u over. We ordered an antipasto salad which 4 people could have shared. Took the rest home.

Steak was fatty/chewy and not cooked to desired medium appearance. At least 6 times during the meal, our conversation was interrupted by someone asking us if "everything was all right". Appreciate the concern, but too many people asking way too often. Appetizer was very good an dipping sauce for bread testy. Chicken Sorento was good also.

Best Chicken Francese Ive ever had! Im eating the leftovers right now and couldnt be happier. Went for a late dinner last night and didnt feel like we were being rushed out or unwelcome. When my date asked the waiter what was in the Marsala sauce that made it so good, he said "Ill go ask my mom." Guess that means its homemade!

Great traditional red sauce Italian. Traditional menu with some different takes on American Italian food. Would recommend the eggplant rollantini and the veal parmesan. Service was attentive with great pacing inbetweeen appetizers and main course. Nice open dining room. Would come back again.

Jules is as good as they were 25 years ago when they left Jersey City - friendly, delicious, priced right and a great family owned and operated restaurant - the sauce, pasta, bread and main dishes are outstanding - a real gem of a dinning experience! PS - it is BYOB

The meal was excellent! A more casual family restaurant, the food was better here than many "fine dining" establishments in town. The kitchen was a little slow but worth the wait.
