Excellent brunch spot! Its very popular, so be prepared to wait. It definitely is worth it, though! And there are plenty of coffee shops and stores in the area where you can kill time. I came here with a few friends, one who was visiting from out of town. We had picked this spot in particular because theyre supposed to have the best pancakes in the city. I actually am not a big fan of pancakes, so I ordered the smoked salmon scramble. It was so delicious! The eggs were on the softer side, and they had a generous amount of house-made lox mixed in. I put a little of their homemade hot sauce on the eggs which was great. My dish came with toast on the side. Generally, toast is pretty boring, but I put their homemade raspberry jam on it, and it became the most amazing toast I had every tasted! I lathered on that jam so that it was more jam than toast. I will come back just for the jam. It also came with a mixed green salad which was topped with a tasty vinaigrette. I appreciated the healthy addition to the dish. My friends were equally satisfied with their meals. My friend visiting from out of town obviously got the pancakes. She had the chocolate chunk version. The portion was very large, and they were delicious (I did have a taste). They were fluffy, very and some of the best pancakes Ive had. My other friend had the omelette. The portion was also large, and she was a big fan. This is a great spot to take visitors for the famous pancakes, but I will definitely come back just for a regular brunch. I might just try to come at an off time to try to avoid the ridiculous waits.

Queen Italian restaurant is a local favorite. They do everything right. Plus it is unpretentious. This is a place where people go to celebrate. There were lots of birthday parties when we went. I don’t blame them. The food is good and everything is so casual in the midst of white table cloths! The bread basket has a variety from focaccia to crackers to breadsticks. For dinner I mixed and matched a few things. One of the best things I tried were the figs wrapped in prosciutto drizzled in honey on top of ricotta cheese. The gnocchi tricolore deserved high honors as well. For dessert we shared the warm chocolate tort with vanilla gelato and raspberry sauce. The cannoli either comes giant or as three mini ones on the plate. Don’t forget to share!

Classic, family run Brooklyn red sauce Italian joint. Probably one of the nicest restaurants in this gritty, commercial strip of downtown Brooklyn (even if it may not look it from the outside). Got here late on a Saturday w/large party and no reservation and they could not have been nicer or more accommodating! Formal and attentive waitstaff. Tasty and well portioned dishes. Their mozzarella is made fresh on site daily, Im told. Trivia: this was a favorite haunt of Jules Feiffers and Norton Justers when they were roommates in Brooklyn Heights and working on the Phantom Tollbooth!

Ive had the Installation di Mare - the restaurants delicious seafood salad several times. Its filled with tender calamari and clams, olives, vegetables, and tossed with a light lemon dressing. Very flavorful. Ive not had anything like it in the citys other Italian restaurants. The eggs and spinach soup is lovely and rich. Tastes like your Grandmas soup with lots of fluffy eggs. Piazza Lucina Italians is a cozy place in West Portal. Personal, friendly service and very reasonable prices. Its local and top notch. Highly recommended.

Wonderful food served by a highly professional wait staff -- the kind that are hard to find these days--that does not interrupt constantly with a mechanical "how is everything?" They just anticipate what you may need, be it bread, more water, Parmesan cheese, whatever, and it just arrives. The seating can be a little tight particularly at lunch but the noise level is good and the menu features some of the best classic Italian food in Brooklyn; well worth the price.

On a trip to Brooklyn, I decided on The Queen for a meal. And went back ... twice more. Perfection. Warm & inviting. Service was appropriately attentive. The meal was heaven-sent: fresh mozzarella, homemade breads...and the pasta? I was sure my own mother was in the kitchen! On separate visits, I had chicken and veal. Generous portions. Not sure which I will have when I return, but I will return!

If you are in the market for traditional Sicilian/ Italian food The Queen Marie is hands down the best not only in Brooklyn, but NYC. Ive been going to the Queen for 20 years and the food is always top notch, the service is phenomenal, and atmosphere is filled with people who truly love food. The Vitello brothers along with Michael greeting the regulars makes for a beautiful dinning experience.

The food was amazing. Gluten free options including pasta! I had the osso busco which was divine. The homemade gnocchi were delicious. We shared multiple desserts and they were amazing too. The only complaint at the table was that the sauces were a bit salty. Service was very relaxed so dont go if youre in a hurry, but they are very friendly and experienced.

Never disappoints. The food is fantastic and the service is great. The specials menu always has something interesting. Its undiscovered by Brooklyn hipsters and mombots which is such a good thing. You can have a great meal and conversation and youll be greeted by the owner and chef, just like in the old days.

Excellent food and very welcoming. I consider myself a connoisseur of fine italian food and this is near the top of my list. I had the Pasta Nero which had two of the largest scallops that I have ever seen. My companion had the gnocchi, which was light and fluffy and very flavorful.

One of the oldest Italians restaurants in Brooklyn. They have a brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Good food and drink. Disappointed in the fact, we asked for the special and was told they were not offering it at this time. But saw the special was advertised in window.

Old World favorites with a modern flair. This Brooklyn Heights restaurant is a hidden gem, with the best mozzarella in the city, fresh homemade pasta. You will never leave this place hungry. If it was in Manhattan, would be impossible to get a reservation.

Took mom for her birthday, she loved it and so do I. Although the meals are pricy because of the fancy environmentand the portions arent as much but its comfortable. Other than that this old school Italian restaurant is great and the service is friendly.
