The Grand Colonial hosted our wedding for 200+ in May 2011. The setting was lovely, clean and efficient. The food was fantastic. However, we were very disappointed in the management. During the ten-months that we planned our wedding three different people filled the all-important wedding coordinator position - Spencer, Taryn and Dan (the manager). Each time there was a changeover, we were not informed until after numerous phone calls and e-mails went unanswered. In fact, we made more than one trip from our house (an hour away) to the Grand Colonial just to locate a person - any person - who could answer our questions and tell us who was in charge. Trying to order linens was frustrated by the lack of communications. We finally used an outside company (Elegance Remembered - they were great). Spencer encouraged us to meet with the linen company at the Grand Colonial to view the tablecloths in the ballroom. However, once there, Spencer was rude and difficult when we asked if he could set out a round table, turn on the lights in the room and bring us a plate or two to help complete the picture. A few weeks later, we learned that Spencer was fired and that all of the notes on our arrangements were misplaced. Tayrn met with us and we repeated all of our previous information about the time the wedding was to start, the number of tables, etc. However, after she failed to respond to follow up phone calls and e-mails we learned that the manager, Dan, had taken over as wedding coordinator. Before the wedding, we received apologies and reassurance from Dan that everything was under control. Dan was accommodating to our lighting person and the florist, but the service provided by the Grand Colonial itself was a little chaotic and unorganized. The room looked beautiful, but the air conditioning wasnt working properly and our cake (which was delicious) began to melt. Also on the cake - the venue forgot to refrigerate the piece they saved us, which meant we never had more than our initial bite in front of the photographer. Given all of the previous positive reviews, I hope that they sort out their staffing issues and that their future service lives up to the beauty and reputation of the venue.

I looked at so many venues for my wedding and the Farmhouse blew all the others away (I only had my reception there). I was not looking for a place that was country chic or rustic in anyway. I wanted a place that was upscale and intimate and the Farmhouse delivered. The food was unbelievable (per my guests). I provided some decorations and the staff placed them beautifully with very little direction from me. Their silk flower arrangements and other decorations were a complement to what I provided as well. The staff was truly fantastic from the greeter, to the bridal attendant, to the waiters, etc. I think the best part was that I did not worry about a thing and was able to just enjoy the night. The only drawback is that I wish they had allowed me to pick everything up in the morning versus taking it that night after the wedding was over. It was a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend The Farmhouse.

We went to the Grand Colonial for the Easter Brunch. Where should I start....we sat for 20 minutes before someone came to take our drink order, there was only one place where you could get plates - you had to fish through people waiting in line for the carving station to get a plate if you wanted cold salads, seafood or deserts, there was no beef at the carving station (the "chef" said it will be out in a few minutes - after 2 hours it never arrived to the carving station), they advertised an Easter Egg hunt hourly in the local newspaper (in the two hours we were there there was never a hunt), the plates were never picked up from the table - you basically had to clean up for yourself.... The place is very beautiful inside and out, but that is where it ends! I highly recommend avoiding the Grand Colonial - at least for a brunch!!!!!

The food was okay, the server we had was great, but we were seated in the bar area. The restaurant was not busy so Im not sure why they sat a group of 8, two of which were children at the bar. It caused discomfort for us and the patrons at the bar that kept looking over with looks of disgust because we subjected them to kids. A party of 4 made it very known they objected to us being there by speaking loudly about sexual subject matter and then looking over for our reaction. After a very weird confrontation, they were asked to move to the other end of the bar. They first made sure we were aware they knew the owner, which doesnt say too much about the owners taste in friends.

Weve had two weddings here in the past four years and are now planning a third (ours with 35 guests, one daughter with 120 guests and one daughter with 50 guests) and couldnt be happier with the setting, food, service and ambiance. Yes, theyve been going through some changes but this never affected the results: superb. We met with Dan tonight and he couldnt have been more accommodating even though this will be a small group. This is a wonderful place to have a wedding; one of the guests at our daughters wedding was so impressed that shes having hers here too. You wont be sorry.

I hosted a birthday "surprise" party lunch for my wife on 2/19 at the Farm House and couldnt be more pleased! The food was delectable, the service was attentive and the ambiance of the Perryville Room gave a warm and cozy feeling. When I chose the "cold sandwiches" as one of my menu selections, I didnt know that I was getting an endless variety of mouthwatering sandwiches that my family and friends are still talking about. The soup, salads and other entrees were equally amazing and displayed with impeccable care. Thank you Jess for this special day!

I have lived by this place my whole life and always thought I could not afford it. We stopped in for a cocktail on a Tuesday and met the best bartended named George. He took the time to give us a little tour of the whole beautiful building amd all the special rooms you can use for special events. Then I looked at the menu and was surprised by what choices there were amd how you could make it expensive or inexpensive. Came back 2 nights later for my anniversary and the food was excellent, so happy I stopped by.

We held my daughters wedding here and it was outstanding. From the food to the staff, we were pleased far beyond our expectations. Our guests repeatedly told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to. We did not need to worry about a thing due to their excellent staff and attention to detail. It was an amazing day that we could all enjoy and in part it was due to us choosing the Farmhouse as the reception venue.

With the help of Dan Weiss and his staff, our daughters wedding was an extraordinary affair. Hannah and Will were married indoors because it was early Marcch. The room was so professionally done that we were overwhelmed by its beauty. The appetizers and main course were impeccable, everyone really enjoyed the food! If you are looking for an awesome place to have a wedding, search no further, give Dan Weiss a call.
