Thought I was coming back to same Barcelona, SONO restaurant that Im accustomed to, but Im my along with my friend from New York, Saddened and extremely disappointed, even sitting here writing this review (feeling like I have lost a loved one),to announce the Barcelona that I once knew, is no more!!!! Im saddened to say that all but one of my 5 favorite small tapas dishes have been retired, and the waiter thru a pitiful recovery was trying desperately to describe one of the new dishes with buzz words like "chunks, sloppy, dollops of sauce" etc. as a description for their new lamb Ragu. Needless to say, as they often do, another one bites the dust!!!!

First time at the new location. Weve been to the Fairfield, Stamford and the previous Norwalk locations. The new locations is beautiful and the food and service were very good. However, the loud music, while it did drowned out the bar noise, made it dinner conversation difficult. I was sad to see a few favorites not on the menu - especially the chicken empenadas. We will be back but probably not until its warm enough to sit outside where the noise level should be better.

party of 10, reservations at 9pm saturday. by 10pm, we still had not sat. asked that they break our party up into 3 groups. 2 groups sat immediately, the last group (me included) waited till 10:30pm! we ended up walking out, what else could we have done? hour and a half...! hostess certainly didnt care, said they routinely overbook and that she isnt there during the day to stop them from accepting reservations. manager was no show as well.

We took some friends for dinner and had a great evening! The food is as good as it always has been, but the new location is great! We enjoyed a sampling of most vegetarian and non-seafood offerings and the kitchen made several dishes GF for one of our guests who has an allergy. It has a good crowd and nice indoor/outdoor seating. Although we missed them, they have some great happy hour specials on drinks and tapas.

Yesterday (Sunday) was my first visit to the new location in Norwalk. While Barcelonas New Haven location had previously been my favorite, I like the new Norwalk location at least as much as the New Haven location- possibly even moreso...Excellent service; knowledgeable, helpful staff - all combined with great food and wine. Whats not to like?

Thanks to Barcelona and the amazing staff, we had a delicious catered dinner for twelve. I requested that the staff make the selection from the most popular dishes available. Bottles of wine are half price on Sundays and that, alone, makes Barcelona great. On top of the half price wines on Sunday, the food is addictive (try the trout paté. I know it sounds questionable but one taste and it will haunt your dreams), the atmosphere is perfect for an evening out with friends, and the service is always on point.

Our waiter was Oscar who was very nice and made sure things were in place, knew the menu from memory, made it very comfortable. The place was very nice, the setting was very romantic and the crowd was nice. Definitely a place to make your spot with a special friend.
