So I grew up in LA and moved to SF several years ago. Its amazing how much I took K-town food for granted, but of course I didnt realize it until after I moved up here. Dont get me wrong, theres plenty of great places to eat up here, but the selection is nowhere near as comprehensive as it is in LA. That being said, Ive been looking for a good, hole-in-the-wall type of place for Korean/Chinese noodles and spicy soup (zzangpong), and when I finally found this place, it was exactly what I was hoping for. Delicious food that was reasonably priced, fast service. I usually get the fried rice dish with zazang sauce, and they give you a small bowl of the spicy soup; the combination is blissful! Ive been eating there about once a week for the past several months and still crave it by mid-week.

Korean black bean sauce is to Chinese black bean sauce, as Japanese curry is to Indian curry: flavourable, but more refined. I ordered the Za Zang Bap (ground pork and vegetables in black bean sauce over steamed rice with fried egg on top), which a plate reminiscent of Japanese rice plates. The food is wholesome and seems handmade. Half of the clientele seems Korean, both as couples and families with kids. Take-out (both ordered in person, and in advance on the phone) for people in the neighbourhood seemed popular. The price was moderate, and the atmosphere was casual. This restaurant is a good choice if youre in the neighbourhood, and maybe worth a small detour if you havent tried Korean black bean sauce.

Ive been here twice and was pretty unimpressed both times. I first went 3 years ago and didnt think the food was very good. So, despite living a block away, I hadnt been back until today. Today i decided to give it another shot. I ordered food to go. Despite finding 2 places online (including here on Google) that listed the kimchi fried rice as $8.95, they charged me $11.95 when I got there. I brought up and showed them the discrepancy but they didnt seem to care. When I got home, I also discovered that the kimchi friend rice is also not vegetarian as listed online and in fact has beef in it. I wont be going back a third time

This was the most disappointing Korean food Ive ever had. Namesake bean sauce noodle dish was bland and overly salty, reminiscent of powdered, package gravy. Beef and egg in the bibimbap were very overcooked yet the handful of accompanying rice was cool. The banchan was another cut corner and consisted only of pickled carrot, onion, and one sauce. There are a number of better Korean options in the area and any of them would be worth the detour past this place.

One of the my favorite places in the city! My favorite dish os easily the Go Choo Jap Chae its definitely pricey at $16.95 before tax and tip basically making it a $20 dish, luckily the portion is on the larger side. Do to the price how ever I only eat here once in a while..They definitely have cheaper items that are more affordable but the Go Choo is just too good so sorry rest of the menu.

4 stars I came here craving which was pretty solid. I asked for less spicy and they were nice enough to take note of that. However, the dish that really surprised me was #5 chicken Zazang Korean Noodle, which I tried from my friend. I didnt order it myself, but the broth was amazinggg. It was light yet flavorful; perfect on a cold day!

Jamming (spicy seafood noodle) hit the spot. Amazing handmade noodles with a flavorful and spicy broth!. The free duckboards was really good as well as the beef noodle soup the bf got. The parking lot is pretty small but we havent had any problems the few times weve gone there!

Fresh, authentic food served at a reasonable price given the portion sizes. The shrimp dumplings were definitely very fresh, but a little too bland. The Bugolgi, on the other hand, was especially good.

I can name this place is Korean style Chinese restaurant. Almost 100% Chinese restaurants in Korea are this style. I recommend this place to person who misses Korean style Chinese food.

Called to place an order at 9:15, they said the kitchen was already closed. Dont put youre open until 9:30 then. -_- Most places shut down, after theyve closed for business.

I have eaten no better korean food, and know of no better priced eatery in San Francisco. Menu is simple, but g*d damn tasty. Be sure to try the Za Zang noodle dishes.

The only place in lower pac heights or SF for that matter to get decent 자장면(jjajjangmyun). I forget what their credit card minimum was.. i think $10-15.

Jajangmyun is decent. The jjampong not the greatest. Little pricey for the food. Tang su yook is delicious and crispy but really pricey!

Tasty food and friendly staff. Havent found much of the Korean noodles in black bean sauce in SF, so this is one of a small number.
