Quaint little place in a location you would not normally expect to find great sushi! Dont be in a rush, hes a one man show and worth the wait. The owner, Paul is super friendly and always smiling. There are regular weekly specials, and a recommendation or two if your undecided. He will exceed your expectations and the presentation is always part of the experience. My wife and I brought a nice bottle of red, and sat at the open counter space front row to the chef. We started with a couple typical rolls and then took full advantage of the chefs attention. After mentioning some favorite flavors and textures, Paul fired off two of his own suggestions. If you like ginger sauce, and a kicked up roll with shrimp, avocado and eel, I would get his attention and make a special request. We followed up with his special lobster garden roll before pushing the plates back. The staff is super attentive as youd expect in a quaint local spot. The crowd is a mix of polite college students and local residents. All are often mentioning how long theyve been coming back to eat at their favorite spot. We Highly Recommend it!! Thursday Night - For those who enjoy both Quality and Quantity. Your welcome to sit from 5-8 and Eat All You Can!! The sign reads, "Clean your plate, or Pay full rate!" $29.00 per person.

Good quality fish. The restaurant moved recently, and since this is my first visit I cannot compare, but the new restaurant is really nice, with an attractive entrance, wall decor, and sushi bar. Some of it seems out of place with live music, college employees, and rock music, but it breaks the stereotypical mold of a sushi restaurant. It is BYOB, and the servers seemed to be new and a little confused on what to do. When we arrived, they handed me the wine key to open the bottles. Also, most tables were left for 15 minutes or more with all the dirty dishes after the party left. This probably would be five stars, but the service issues caused the dropped star. Will revisit to see if these have changed.

One word: TERRIBLE. For 50% off you definately get what you paid for and that would be: redish brown colored tuna, discolored yellowtail, sloppy-made rolls, egg-less nabeyaki udon with a broth that tastes straight out of a package, and masago when you specifically ordered tobiko. I suppose quality is definately in the eye of the beholder because this place is packed on wednesdays. Disappointingly, I def/ wont be using my remaining 50% vouchers. The only positive- the staff is very nice.

Sushi cafe is one of the best sushi places in the area. Ive been eating sushi as a child and sushi cafe is the only place that Ive gone to more than twice. sushi is mad so many different ways but Paul (the owner) finds the best blends of fish and sauces to excite your taste buds. The place is BYOB but does tend to get crowded. its only because of the exceptional service and unique sushi rolls you cant find anywhere else. 5 stars for sushi cafe!!!! Jerseys MUST HAVE.

I read some reviews about this place and they all were excellent. So i decided to try it out and wow!! I was amazed how excellent it was!! I consider myself a regular customer now which means they know me by first name which is awesome! If you want to try a new sushi place, at a decent price then try Sushi Cafe! Its BYOB which is also a plus!!

This is just a warning to ALL when you go to the café! DO NOT TIP WHEN YOU GO THERE! THE STAFF WHO WAITS ON YOU DOES NOT RECEIVE THEIR TIPS! I FELT SO BAD FOR THE YOUNG MEN AND WOMAN WHO WAIT ON YOU! IF YOU WANT TO TIP HAND IT TO THEM PRIVATELY! WHY PUT IT IN THE OWNERS HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great service and atmosphere. Mr. Kim and his warm demeanor have me coming back for their reasonably priced lunch specials, even though Ive had a bit better sushi. The tempura is very fresh and crisp, and their rolls are decent. Wonderful little joint.

This place is amazing! Sushi is unbelievable and there is no better sushi than here! Terrific atmosphere and tremendous service! Paul the owner and Sushi Chef has a fun and lively personality!!! Love 1/2 off Wednesday!!! Love this place!!!!!!

Id have to call myself a regular at this point. The food is incredible and the staff is incredibly great! Just bring a bottle of wine, kick back, chat with the owner Paul and I guarantee youll enjoy yourself

First time trying and ordered take out. Cashier forgot soup and had to go back. Sushi was OK, but seemed as little skimpy. Would probably not order again as I would rather order from Nikko down the road.
