Do yourself a favor, and dont get to-go orders at this place. Take your time and enjoy the amazing food (signature tonkotsu and pork belly rice are my favorites), whimsical atmosphere, free refills on drinks, polite servers, and good music. Maybe get some ice cream too. Just dont get it to go. First off, the workers are not allowed to take orders on the phone, they must be made online (which can already be a bit inconvenient). Heres how my experience went: I ordered my usual (extra hot) ramen and pork belly rice. I set my pick-up time to 8:00, and I drove the 30 minutes to get there, arriving just before 8:00. I noticed that my food has already been sitting there, which means it will be cold even faster. When I get through the line to pick up my order, they tell me that they are completely out of rice. So I cant get my pork belly rice, which is the main reason I drove the 30 minutes to get there. Of course if I could have ordered over the phone, they could have told me immediately that they were out and I would not have wasted a trip. They were polite and apologetic, and said that they would charge me only for the ramen (but I checked my bank account and I was charged for the rice as well). They did not offer me any coupons or anything. Good customer service would have been apologizing, and either giving me my food free or at least a coupon for next time. If this had been my first experience with this place, I would never go back.

You walk up to the counter and place your order from a menu board mounted overhead. The pictures help a lot. I was able to get my dish gluten free. You pay at the counter. You are asked to add a tip at that time. This seems a bit odd, given you haven’t been served your food yet. I wonder if tips suffer because of this. The customer benefit here is that you can leave after your meal as quickly as you like since it has been paid for. Next you are given a buzzer and take a seat. A server, brings your food from the kitchen. They do check on you to make sure you like your food. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The food was great. The atmosphere was nice too. Very clean and modern.

I lived in Japan for a while, and am always in search of good Ramen. This place has a bit of a modern touch to it, but to be honest this is on par with a lot of Ramen Ive had in Japan. A good taste of garlic in the tonkotsu broth, and firm noodles (how I always requested mine over seas) makes this the best Ive had in the Midwest. Ill be going back to get my fix. The only thing that was slightly disappointing, was that they served pure soy sauce with the dumplings, when gyoza sauce contains a mix of vinegar and soysauce, but still 5 stars because when I asked for vinegar, they brought me out some pronto.

Quaint, "hip-and-with-it", and delicious—this metropolis of self-identifying hipsters defies the curse of Columbus trendy, new restaurants who quickly lose business weeks after the opening-buzz. To complain of authenticity in an inauthentic town of rustic lumberjacks is to lose the point of Fukuryu Ramen. It is not to be compared to established ramen restaurants in the area, but to places like Bibibop. If you have made it this far, then Fukuryu if you believed any of this gibberish. I dont have any credentials attached to my taste buds—the ramen was pretty good.

Where should I start? This place had pathetically small portions. Most ramen places give you an enormous bowl but I felt I was eating from a tiny bowl from my own kitchen. The noodles felt dry and cheap as cardboard. Overall, I feel their ingredients were either far from fresh or just very low quality. Add this to the fact that my pork was still cold in the bowl. And to top it off, there are almost no choices when it comes to sides. I would avoid this restaurant if I were you. Go to Meshikou instead.

I have never actually been to the place but ordered from Grubhub probably over 100 times while I was at The Ohio State University. I stumbled across it and it was amazing. This is not the ramen you make in the microwave or the ramen with a bunch of sodium and salt. This is rich in flavor and can come with great sides in the bowl. I loved the egg in the bowl, seaweed, etc. I would also recommend their fried tofu. Hands down best fried tofu I have ever had anywhere!

Fantasic ramen spot. I have been 5 times since they opened earlier this year. The first couple of times the food was good but not outstanding. However, they have improved tremendously since then and all of my return visits have been excellent. My favorite bowl is the Tam Tam ramen but you cannot go wrong with any of them. BTW, if you are thinking about appetizers make sure you have help. I am a big eater and I am completed stuffed after just the bowl of ramen.

Went here for the first time with my friend in January. I recommend getting the Red Dragon without any chilis/spice because each table has a pot of chili paste where you can add the heat to your liking. I didnt even add any spice and it was absolutely perfect, a rich broth with perfect noodles and simple toppings. I will definitely be coming here again. The only negative are the chairs hurt your bum/tailbone after sitting there for awhile LOL.

Surprisingly good ramen. I lived in Japan for year, and have always lamented the difficulty of finding a decent ramen-ya in the States. This is definitely one of the better ones in Columbus. I havent tried their fusion-y looking ones, but their traditional ramens are pretty good facsimiles of the real thing. Seating is really tight though and, I thought, a little uncomfortable. Still, small price to pay for a good bowl of ramen.
